I think all Amsoil flush is, is Kerosene per say. That a good or bad thing?

What more info do you need bud? They came in first place in the recent CR test of 18 all season tires, on my wife's Forester they are just awesome (can't tell you how good in the winter!) & not a single complaint on my ES........fantastic in heavy rain too. B) That's the best tire for your Matrix.....I know safety is on the top of the list for you & your new bride.......that's exactly why I have em.......buy them again in a heartbeat for both vehicles.....but I won't have too for a long time.....80,000 mile treadlife. ;)

Ours works out to be about $4.60 a gallon for the good stuff.......& considering the exchange rate is very close now....... :cries:

I strongly disagree. S rated tires will significantly effect the way the car handles, and unfortunately you might not ever notice that until you're in an emergency situation. Have to agree with sw here.......an S speed rating is not recommended.

I moved from a V to an H speed rated tire.......absolutly no complaints. ;)

Wasted breath ;) Not nessecarily, i understand this, and if I can get better traction out of a non directional tire, then please point me in the right direction, i just dont want to pay $200 or more a piece Welcome back Josh! B) Goodyear Triple Treads my friend, they won't be near $200 a piece if you spend a little time getting prices. Long term, that's the smart move for your Matrix. ;)

Thanks Steve B) Karen will be fine and most importantly was not hurt.......a little shaken up (if a tad apprehensive to drive much during the last couple of days) , but damage was minor.......it will be good as new so no worries there. She has been driving the Lexus the last couple of days. B)

Thought I would post some pics of my wife's 2003 Forester XS PP. We just had the car rust-proofed & professionally detailed. B) I took the pics in such a way as to not show the 'minor' damage to the rear bumper from the 'rear ender' my wife had yesterday, but will be fixed very soon. Anyway......enjoy! B) I might ummmmmm.......be 'defecting' in the very near future myself btw. :whistles:

Well I was to meet my wife after work yesterday to get her 2003 Forester XS professionally detailed, rust-proofed & for a general 'full spa' treatment in Mississauga Ontario (just west of Toronto) when she called me on my cell not 5 minutes from the place saying she was just rear ended at a stop light by a white Hyundai. It was a fairly low speed impact (my wife was stopped at the light) & the women apparently "took her eyes off the road for a split second" & BANG!. Very thankfully nobody was hurt. Damage to the rear bumper cover was mainly from the front licence plate screws that dinged & took off some paint with one minor crack in the bumper cover (no visible or major structure damage underneith). The car was left at the detailer with body work to be done next week. My detailer knows a fantastic body shop who came out to look at the car & will use only OE equipment.....long story short the rear bumper cover needs to be re-painted with some 'minor' metal repair (my guess is the bumper struts & related material). Damage total is $839.19 from the estimate! Needless to say we are not pleased.....but it could have been much worse.....just one of those days. :chairshot: Now on to dealing with the insurance companies!

Based on your description, sounds fairly normal to me........best suggestion I have is if you think there is a problem, leave the car with the dealer (get a loaner) overnight & have them fire the car up when it's cold out the next morning. ;)

Out of those 2 choices, I would have to go with number 1.....The Falkens hands down. B)

Agreed the 95-99's were no Lexus, but the traction in any weather including all new Subi's are just awesome! Nice colour combo actually nc. B)

2005+ Outbacks are very nice & well appointed inside, I was very impressed with the improvements made since the previous generations as Subi tries to move more 'up market'. B) Definately worth a look. ;)

Thanks amigo! We're still looking for the right one. Looking for a 05' White Limited fully loaded. Might have to shop at tirerack for a set of wheels though...some of the stock wheels are just gross! I see you're a Subby fan! I use to have a 99' Outback, thing was awesome! I've never driven a car that wanted to go faster as the weather worsened! I called it my little "water spider". I remember evacuating Wilmington back in 99' from hurricane Floyd to Charlotte. I left after it had rained about 4 inches. As I was going up hwy 74/76 out to Charlotte, all of these big SUV's were going like 20 mph with their flashers on. I simply put my hands at 10&2 and never had to drop below 55 mph. When one wheel would hydro, the other three would grab and correct itself. It was the darndest thing I've EVER witnessed behind the wheel of a car. Never had a rooster tail from a car before. Never did I feel unsafe either. I pulled in to fill up on gas, and some guy next to me that I had passed earlier in a Tahoe said "what the hell kind of car is that?" Hahaha!! Had to sell it when I moved to Birmingham in 01'. Just not enough power to get up and down those hills. I drove it for 42k miles, and I actually sold it, for what I paid for it as a demo in Kansas City!! You'll never hear me say a bad thing about Subaru.....except for maybe the prices now . Yup, I have a totally new found respect for Subi's since we bought my wife's! :D Considering the price point, it's one of (if not the top) the best full time AWD system in the business at any price point & reliability is outstanding too. B) I'm liking the 2006 OB H6 VDC personally......I'm a 6 cyl man & always will be. But I think the Turbo's (XT models) are one of the ultimate 'sleeper vehicles' one can buy. :D
