  1. I don't think you are doing anything wrong, it is a Luxury-sports car, well kind of.
  2. I went ahead and scanned the instrument panel off the manual. This was my first time attaching something, you might want to copy it to a different program to Zoom in. Because you can only add 100k size file to it.
  3. Behind or in the Tachometer all the ligts should come one for a second. low oil pressure warning, discharge battery, open door indicator, hand brake, seat belt reminder, SRS warning light(airbag). My Open door light is the only one that does not come one, not even later on when the doors are opened, I guess the bulb is burned out.
  4. NICE MAN, How much was the In-dash TV. And I don't know how these car TVs work. Is DVD or VHS the only way to get video.

  6. Replace the spark plugs, air filter, clean out the throttle body. And it will help improve your gas mileage. An example of an LS400 throttle body cleaning. Just say OPEN, don't have to save.
  7. My LS400 and my brothers Acura Legend. Both same color Tuape or Brown. LS400: 1993 Acura Legend: 1992 (just about the same model too) Both of them have a Sun Roof. Now, when we bought both of the cars, the paint on both of them were rough on the roof. Acura Legend: The surface on the rough is very very rough, the roof is still the same color as the car, so it has gone allllll the way down. And on the trunk the same story except there are only two big lines, each about 3in. thick. But the trunk is smooth like a regular car. LS400: On the roof, just behind the roof the paint has gone white, but you can't tell without staring at it. The paint is a little rough too, BUT NOT CLOSE TO AS THE ACURA. On the Lexus thats the only part the car has messed up paint. Very minor. I am thinking about getting the ONLY the Acura's roof and trunk painted. I just used the Lexus as something to compare it with. Now the question is that: When I go to the paint shop, what do I tell them, what to I need. I have incountered alot of repainted cars and the paint on them has dull, no shine. So, I don't want that. And money is not that big of a concern neither. Who are they best or preaty good paint shops, ex: Macoo. I live in High Point, North Carolina. Any suggestion or just stories relating to this topic, fell free to respond.
  8. Most likely your all of you have the same problem and causations too. I think that the power had been cut off when someone hit you. Causing the CD Player to turn OFF. They have an ANTI-THEFT System built in them. If you take the player out or turn off the battery of your car, the car player will think that it has been stolen and will not turn on unless you put the correct setted CODE in it. This is what happened to my friends Acura Legend, it said "ERR," he had to get the Code from the Acura dealer by giving them the players Serial #. If you look in the LS400 Manual you will find how to reset the Anti-Theft system. *I have the manual and a scanner but I don't know how to place the pictures in the post.*
  9. MAN, I used this Meguiars Gold Class Leather Cleaner/Conditioner on my 1993 LS400 and on Acura Legend (same bottle) and it turned the leather harder than what it was before. But the leather shined and looked as if it was clean though. I never had a leather interior car until these two, and after using this, I thought that the leather should be harder, but alot of people want to know how to get it softer. Then I guess this is a piece of crap. Link: Meguiars Gold Class Or maybe not????????
  10. Changing springs, etc..., I don't think I will be going that far. I was just wondering if there was a screw or two to losen up or something like that, but thanks for the info.
  11. My Lexus and my brother's Acura Legend have very stiff gas and brake pedals. My parents have a 1996 Camry, and both of its pedals and steering wheel are very very soft, the softest I have ever encountered. The Legend's pedal are the toughest of all of the cars and the steering wheel. The Lexus pedals and steering wheel is stiff but not quite as the Acuras. So, is there a way to loosen the pedals and probably the steering wheel. Because with stiff pedals you can't realy take off from Zero very smoothly as with loose onces.
  12. You know the finish on them look like the OEM wheels on 1993-94 LS400, possibly on 90-92 too. Anyways, I guess if you have the right color of the car, like silver or some other color that will corrdinate with the wheels finish will look good. Like the of my color of my car Taupe (like the one pictured under my name) will not look that good with these rims. So, I think that if I was going to change the looks, I will go with Chrome, black, etc, anything different then the OEM wheels finish.
  13. I found this website searching in this website: http://www.lexusdash.com Sent him an email and see if he can help you on this. :whistles:
  14. I have 35psi all around. So, I should use 32psi. I want a good soft ride and the same MPG as I am now at 35psi. Won't a harsher ride damage the suspension and its part. The www.fueleconomy.gov and Lexus say that these 90-94 LS400's get 18MPG city and 21MPG hwy, since they recommed 30-32psi won't the test of MPG be done on 30-32psi. Conclusion: I get 20MPG hwy on 35psi. Reducing to 32psi will reduce the MPG to about 16MPG hwy, correct me if I am wrong.
  15. I have read about 3-4 posts about tire pressure and how they effect the Lexus. This might be an outdated post, but those 3-4 posts are 6-8months old and I don't know how I can related my car to them. Ok guys here is the scopege: First of all 1993 LS400 146,000 miles. Alignment and tire rotation done last month, have about 300 miles after the Alignment and tire rotation. I just went out to visit the Lex. In her crib “garage” to copy the information off the glove box and the tires. Glove box info: Cold tire inflation pressure: 1. Load 4 occupants: Front_ 30psi Rear_ 30psi 2. Load up to vehicle capacity weight: Front_ 32psi Rear_ 32psi Info. from the siding of the Tires: Brand name: Good Year Eagle T/R P225/60R16 (all four) Pressure: 44psi Max ____________________________________________________________________ “Higher pressures give a harsher ride, but it's safer, the tires last longer, and you get better mileage. Most new tires all can take 35 PSI or more.” Quote from a 6 month old topic, where some people agreed with it. When the car goes over or at 60mph it vibrates and the vibration increases with the speed. Vibrates when the gas is applied and without applying it, so, it’s not the engine mounts or any of that business. All four tries have 35psi“I believe,” done by a local mechanic when the alignment and rotation was done about 300 miles ago. He also mentioned that the front tires are a little worn out. Alignment which was done 300 miles ago, now the steering wheel is not perfectly centered. “Come on now not after only 300miles” Now what should the tire pressure be to give a more smother ride. The car is driven 20miles a day in weekdays on a state highway doing 55-60mph. Sleeps all weekend long in the garage 0 miles. And are all those posts about, high pressure gives harsher ride but better mileage and so forth, are correct or not. Thanks
  16. Are you saying that is there a way to get the metal part out and transfer the metal part of your original key into the new one? Because I wish I could do that!

  18. You got the kind of rims I wanted. If you don't mind how much $? and Where? OH, you got Wood Kit! Can take another pic, of the inside. By the way nice tint.
  19. My Lexus vibrates, I know I need new front tires because they are slightly worn out from the ends, aligment: did that but still steering wheel is tiled to the left, "a little," my car makes this noise "clunking noise" ppl told me it is the strut. The price of new struts and things to go with it add up. The vibration of my car: can't be explanied from a LOC member, without looking at it. I'm not going to repair any of those things because the repair cost will cost more then the car, which is just under $6,000. The issue about the engine jumping out both my Lexus and Acura do this. 1992 Acura Legend does that because I guess like all Lexus have strut probs they have transmission probs. :) All three of my friends with 1992-93 Legends are the same as mine. When the Legend hits the second gear the car shifts back real hard. As far as the Lexus goes, the engine move up and tries to jump out when I go from Park or Rev or Drive but harder from Park to Rev then P,R to Drive. How can the engine mounts be repaired. Do screw need to be tighten up OR new mounts or $$$$? :chairshot:
  20. Mine has 146,000 miles on it and just bought it. So, I never encountered a 90k service. What does it realy include, for such a high price for a service.
  21. No, not me. I had a question. If some puts the trim on the car and decides to rip it out after several years. Will it damage the original panels or leave anything behind permentaly like gule or anything. And in hot temp. usually in cars it is double the temp. as it is outside, will the trim's glue leak or maybe melt and come off or will it be like the OEM trim around the gear and ashtray of every 1990-1994 LS400.
  22. Back in the days, about in 1990-1993. Our driver would clean our car and hose the engine down like as if he was power washing a house. It was Japanese car only sold in Asia. I don't know much about the engine, except that it was round like a oil tank that one would put under a car when changing oil. Top speed on that car was 140kph and sometimes we went up to 135kph on it.
  23. Security System: Circuit City We have the $99 on in our 1996 Camry. I would like this one in my 1993 LS400. Because if you bump the car just a little bit and it goes off.
  24. I parked my 1993 LS400 beside me friends 1991 or 92 LS400 and mine was sitting lower. Both were parked on level pavement. Everything on my car is stock, as of what I think; and on his. Are they supposed to be the same or does that mean that one of us have aftermarket struts or any other product. Just wanted to know because I have strut & vibration problem. Plus the LCD.
