  1. I just saw the pictures of your Black Jade. Man, its one of the best looking Gen. 1 I have ever seen. I'm sorry to hear about the vibration.
  2. Good points, I was surprised too. On the highway as I speed up to 90mph to 120mph the car is more smother, felt like I was about take off like in a airplane, [guess that shows that they are built for interstate driving].
  3. BTW: Mine was just like yours, when I bought mine. I had mine done from a local shop. And, it is still not perfect [my front tires are worn in from the inside] this is what he told me the reason was.
  4. You know there are sometimes alot of the Gen. 1 master keys on Ebay, but some of those sellers think is that those keys will work on any other car by programming it, NOT, so they want a little more then what they are really worth. BTW: If you do find one, how about letting me know too, I need the front cover of the master key. :) Bingo: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...&category=40016 http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...8&category=6763 http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...&category=46101 :D :D :D You know, since I took my time to respond to your question. How about thanking me by buying one of them and sending me the front cover, (the one that comes of with a screw). :D :D :D
  5. at a local shop it should be around $40-$60.
  6. How many miles do you have on your LS as of Today?
  7. You know, just about every answer to any engine problems lately have been, "clean the Throttle Body." :D
  8. Well, one thing that you can easily look at are the muflers or exhast pipes. I was looking into an Honda Accord, but I looked down and it had a huge whole in it. Like everyone else, I'll also say that in older cars electronic problems come into play too. Paint, was also mentioned; this 'can' determine if the car was in a fender bender or even worse, if the colors of the car don't match, (maybe the front fender is darker then rest of the body). You cannot examine the paint in the evening or when the sun is down or in a cloudy day. In a bright sunny day, move back about 30 feet or so, and look at the whole car, if the car color is dark the painted part will stick out. You can also check if the headlights and taillights work, especially when applying the brakes. One of my friends brought a 1991 Jaguar from an auction, and he had the same problem, the taillights would turn on with the headlights but not with the brakes applied. I see these kinds of auction as taking a little risk and the results also depend a little on Luck too. So, Good Luck. Shah.
  9. http://www.mikadotech.com/ Thanks for all the replies, any more suggestions!
  10. I had&have the same problem with my LS even I first bought it; so, I joined LOC and started this topic: http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...showtopic=6046& I haven't done anything to fix the problem yet.
  11. Same here too, Jim Walker said that he won't have 93-94 LCDs until June. But I haven't contacted Mikado.
  12. Don't forget to share your results.
  13. Well Mojo, Paying 20 cents more per gallon might become costly; but I agree with Jimbostar you get more MPG. If you want, you can fill it up (when the tank is just about to be empty) with high octane fuel and see if there is an increase in MPG. You have a very high end SUV, I have an 11 year old car and I still fill it up with high octane fuel; but then again it is your car, just my suggestion. But it won't hurt so much to just try it and see the results.
  14. Denny, Is your climate/clock LCD blacked out or had been? If not, then you are most likely a lucky man. 99 & Denny, I'm thinking about cleaning the Throttle body soon too, but this cold weather just doesn't want to go away. I'm a little scared about opening up stuff, forget opening up things I don't even know what most of the things are and there function. The only thing I have put in my car since I bought it is Fuel & windshield washer fluid. I'm think of asking one of our family cars' machanic to do it for me and print out the instructions from the net. One of them is Asian and knows about Japanese cars very well, so I think he is going to be the best candidate.

  16. I was just saying, because I put my foot in a way (the sole in the middle of the brake and gas pedal) that it takes a spilt second to hit the brakes; without picking the whole leg and shifting it to the brake. Also, when someone tries to pass me from the back and I'm not aware of it, (sometimes messing with the stereo) it takes a little long to move my leg up to floor it, every sec. counts at that moment.
  17. This link should do the trick: http://www.circuitcity.com/verity_search.j...TX&qp=0&c=1&b=g "system" I don't know what you guys call it but around here, "Hey do you have a system in your car?" means, "Hey do you have Subs and amp in your car?"
  18. Hey, I don't know the answer to the door question but you mentioned that power steering leaks. I don't know much about it, does your car leave a pile of oil or something overnight in the bottom; just checking to see what mine is like and how I can see if needs to be replaced.
  19. For just show and park it front of my house and thats about it; I'll buy the Jag. For driving about 20miles/day, I'll buy the Lex.
  20. Craig, Have you ever driven a LS with an anchored gas pedal, if so; how would you compare them, if one better than the other one (specially when flooring it).
  21. I have seen and heard that MTX systems are very nice too.
  22. Thats real good :D , have you done any major work on the car in the past?
  23. I have seen this car before too. Well, I guess someone should tell Lexus to stop making LCDs and go with what Camry offers. :( 93LSOwner's quote: "Try, Try, and Try if you still didn't reach your goal; you just wasted alot of time trying." Not making fun of Lexus, but "Truth hurts."
  24. Is your are 1994 or 1990-1994, you can't do that. I think what he is showing is how to program a whole new system with new keys. I'm not sure that you can do the procedure you mentioned with other Generations. But you can't do that with Gen. 1 though.
