  1. I love your idea. It can realy help people like me, who don't know much about what kind or brand name is better for our cars.
  2. What should the battery be cleaned with, I think the manual said baking soda and something else. acf: I liked reading your story, for some reason it kind of remined me of some people.
  3. Lexus engineers & designers are this intelligent to put together a car like “Lexus.” Then don’t you think they will know a thing or two about, what is good and wrong for what they have built. I put the kind of gas it says to put in all of my family's cars. Besides the gas issue: I only serve my car with the best, because I Love cars. I just went and bought a pack of paper for my printer, there were 500 sheets for $3.99 and there was 500 sheets pack for $9.99. I bought the $9.99 one, because the cover said it is whiter and thicker, if it wasn’t won’t the price would have been lower. If everyone was a cheater in this world, do you think we would have made it to 2004? The brand name of the paper was “HP”, also the name of my computer, printer, and scanner. So, I trust them. My point, trust the tag as well as the price tags, its there was a reason.
  4. The rims and tires are very very nice. But, the color of your car and the car itself [to me only] don't match. My analogy: You have an Armani suit on with Air force 1’s. Just my opinion. I'm also not a big fan of the color of your car, but dang, your car changed my preference. If a car can do that, then I'll tag it as a "KILLER." B)
  5. I agree, like I mentioned before thats what my father did. He bought the car and fixed it, they wanted only $200 for it. But in your case repairing is not a good option. If you have trouble selling the whole car, you can sell its parts. I think selling the parts individually will profit you a lot more then selling the whole car. You can sell some of them right here at LOC. :D "Your gold emblems and rims will sell in a heart beat for a good price."
  6. Tell you the truth, thats one of the HOTTEST Lex I have ever seen.
  7. http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...topic=2366&st=0 Contact Mr Sypher, you can PM(personal message) him.
  8. The name "Lexus" being portrait as a symbol of $ or superior than others, I think that is a good thing. As far as buying the car for only its name can work out as buying clothes for its brand name not because how it looks or feel.
  9. A lot of people say that SUV drivers are discourteous and hog up the road like they are the King. But, personally I have not seen anything like that; maybe I will in the future but not something that I’m looking forward too. BTW: LX430or470 are my ideal SUVs NOT just because I have a LS :D .
  10. If you the kind of person who buys something and sticks with it; and plans to have a family or already have. Then GS will be the way to go, more roomy. This is how I see it: LS- All Luxury GS- Luxury like the LS /Sport like the SC SC_ All Sport GS is an in between car. You will be happy with either one you choose :D . My suggestion will be to go out and test drive both of them and see how well they fit you.
  11. A very very common problem. First step, you should balance all four of your wheels and then see if you need aligment.
  12. In the past year, I used to see an Explorer at just about every other intersection in big cities, (kind of weird). People in America tend to favor Explorers, to they last long?? Maybe people are rude to you in your lexus, because you have a very very new car. I have only seen one 2004 ES on the road. Maybe in the Explorer your just an ordinary citizen and in a new ES your the KING, that everyone else wants to be. :D
  13. I think the current SC430 looks a lot better then this LF-C. I think they are going to replace the IS or beside the IS, if it comes out.
  14. Yeah, your lex & ack are both preaty bad. :D We have the same.
  15. This was my question in the last post. I have seen people put TV's in the very back of the car so, the back traffic will watch TV or maybe camping trip or whatever. If a 16 year old kid had this car [not a rich one] his friends will be all over him, I think. But a 18-20 years or above will give you an image of buying a cheap car and hooking it up. I guess, this kind of stuff suits a small car targeted for young buyers, I don't know maybe like a Honda Civic or Mazda Protege, I don't know. But, in Luxury market you have to stay simple. BTW: http://www.intellexual.net/faq/wald6.jpg reminded me of James Bond, what he would drive. What do you think?
  16. Oh never mind, you got it in the shop. I didn't read all the posts.
  17. I'll tell the story in more detail: It is a 1990 Toyota Corolla with 120,000 miles Deluxe Sedan, clear title. [The value of your car at this point does not matter on how many accidents it had, just depends on if you have clear or salvaged title]. Now, a guy came from the insurace company who inspects the damage and determines if to repair it or total it. He is the guy who writes the check, if the car is called in as total, and gives you TWO choices, you can keep the car with the check by paying some money for it or the price will be deducted either one. Or you can give them the car and they will take it and sell it in an auction. As you can see the Corolla's value in private value is $2,000 in excellent condition. And, let me tell you that 13 year old car (in 2003) was no where near excellent. HE GAVE US $2,000 AND WE KEPT THE CAR. We had it repaired and now we are driving it. The car's paint from the outside has dulled and my Dad has made the car kind of unpleasant to be in from the inside [he smoked in it]. The reason we kept it was because he only charged us $200. So, we was paying us $2,200 if we didn't keep the car. The second reason was because me Dad put alot of work in [but the value doesn't go up] and it runs great. You want to know how great, better than my 1993 LS400 146,000. It doesn't vibrate at 60-80mph or wobble around in 0-35mph. The reason why, my Lexus needs some suspension work. So, thats why I said, I'm 99.9% sure they will give the Book Value, in Private Party with excellent codition. My suggestion would be to go out and find someone who will fix your car and ask for estimate [not to tell the insurance agent but for yourself] because if they let you keep the car for a reasonble price and you think after the repair cost; it is worth repairing rather than buying another one. Unfortunately, your Lexus needs alot of work, since the bottom has damaged.
  18. Is it me or is the 2004 LS430 portrait as the perfect luxury car. Every where I see where they are comparing luxury cars, Lexus comes on top. Today, I was watching "Behind the Wheel" on CNBC, the test driver and the editor or the host said, {when standing front of LS430, sitting beside BMW 7-series} "a 8 year old Lexus LS400 has less problems than this 2003 BMW 7-series after 6 months" And they rated the 2004 LS430 as the most reliable car. And this is just the beginning.
  19. Sorry to hear that Tan & Wanda. Wanda, This summer my dad got in to a wreck just like yours, he stopped to turn left and Ford truck flew him right out from the back and another small car hit the Ford truck. But my dad's car was just like your Lexus from the back. I'm thinking... that since this is a Lexus and the damage requires alot of welding & things that only 'pros' can do to fix it. It will cost the insurance more $ to fix it rather than called it "Total." If this is the case your car's Kelly Blue Book value comes a little over $8,000 (depending on what you got on it). And, most likely [i'm 99% sure] they will give you Excellent condition private book value. http://autos.yahoo.com/kbb/three.html?tcc=...submit=Continue
  20. Example procedure of doing it yourself. http://www.diynet.com/diy/ab_windows/artic...2271201,00.html
  21. What was the reason that you changed your speakers? Because, my front two speakers are not working or at least what I think. I don't hear any music or feel any bass coming out of them. The front tweaters are so loud that it is kind of confusing to determine that; but is this a common problem? That the front speakers don't work or they do but are not so loud?
  22. One draw back that I would see is that in 1995 the model was redesigned. But, I have noticed that dealers as well as private party give the new redesigned Gen. II more value than Gen. I; not exactly value but in terms of what level of condition they put it on.
