  6. Idle thought.... do the 92's have the option of holding the key in the unlock position to lower the windows and open the sun roof?
  7. Hay guys, I just sold my 99, 7500, so I am only a two LS family again.... and now I need to get the CEL light off, and the "trac-off" light to quit blinking
  8. IF you dont have an extra key......... WHY dont you??? it is not very smart to be without one. it is always the first thing I do if it comes with a single key. just for peace of mind.
  9. 7500. it is nice. my direct email is: billydpowell@hotmail.com or call 972 695 6336. OH.... my 96 new hood struts and spare key just came in.... off to Sewell to get it cut.
  10. I'm ready, I'm ready, I'm also guilty, there are only two of us, I just thought the blue was pretty.... and bought it.. anybody want a 99?
  11. YES, My wife says sell one and put some $$$ in the bank.....
  12. WELL, I have replaced the windshield, put a set of tires on it, put the washer in the tilt gear and had it detailed, now it looks like this: It runs great.
  13. I ran across this LS today and decided I just could not live without it. $2600. back when I was a kid, we called this color "midnight blue" but now it is STAR SAPPHIRE PEARL. it has been a repo and needs some TLC, but I have the time. . they had to wait 90 days before they could sell it. I have dealer records from 0-152k, it has 182k on the clock.. had one TC/WP and will be needing another, but that is not a problem. the interior (tan) is like new. has a cracked windshield on the pass side, and 2or3 little dents that you have to get the light just right to be able to see them. I'm thinking I'll keep it and sell one of my 99's. the T&T only goes in & out, but we all know how to fix that with a washer. i have only taken one photo, it is below.
  14. try this: http://www.theautopartsshop.com/auto+car-usa+parts/lexus+ls400+rack-and-pinion-seal-kit.html
  15. I have 2 99 LS's, 129k & 166k. your plugs will last 100k easy, probably 150k. do your timing belt/water pump at 200k change your oil at 5000 or 7500 intervals. I doubt that you need struts, or bushings at this point, but have them checked by an independent dealer. get a second opinion.
  16. I just ran across this LS, has only 158k miles, and I love the color combination. I am going to look at it this morning..... any members have one like this?? It was sold new by Sewell, here in Dallas. A REAL BUMMER, Ivory turned out to be tan, ran with a miss and the AC didnt work plus "others"
  17. just a passing thought..... IF after driving on the interstate, the heat causes the fluid to boil and that is where the bubbles are coming from, because the missing screen actually slows down the flow of fluid to prevent this. you might also want to read this from 2003-2011 postings. http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/index.php?showtopic=8910
  18. I replaced my leaking hose when I replaced the WP/TB, and it was no problem, just common sense, took it loose from the pump, and the rack, being careful to see how the washers were placed. and removed the bolt where it goes around the oil pan, and it is done. my hose matched the old one perfectly. (this was on a 97 model) hope this helps..
  19. after replacing 2 pumps and 2 steering racks in the past....... you already know how to take it loose at those locations, and it has a flange that bolts to the oil pan, and you are done...... you should be telling us how you done it..... good luck, it is a snap.
  20. did it set any codes? be sure to run curious' test and reply
  21. I looked thru the manual and did not see a way to test the system to see if it was working or not. so just assume it works and go forward.
  22. follow the good advice and report back to us.. my two 99's have lower miles, but I want to be on guard.
