  1. Hello, I went to Lexus dealer and was about to buy the rear door switch but found out that the black piece that I needed from it has the word "AUTO" written on it, and the other switches on the master switch don't have it, it'll look odd, I don't like to have it on my master switch. so dropped the idea. on the other hand the dealer offered me a new master switch for $207.99 he said it his last one and want to sell it. will think of it after a visit to the wreck yard.
  2. Hi guys, thank you for your replies, I really appreciate them all. But still the same question is un answered which is, If I buy a rear window switch, can take the top plastic piece from it and use it to replace the broken one from the master switch? are the buttons all the same? I don't want to replace the complete master switch (if I can) that's why I'm asking. thanks
  3. Hi, my 1998 LS400 Master switch is in very good condition except that one of the switch top plastic piece is broken (rear left) maybe I pulled it hard by mistake. now do I really need to replace the whole master switch unit ? can I simply buy say the rear door window switch and take the top plastic piece from it? there is at least $200 between the complete master switch and the rear door switch only. someone should know. thanks
  4. I see, actually I bought the tray also :) I didn't know that it was the lock only. but will do as you said and hopefully won't break anything thanks for your help.
  5. Hi all, Need a little help in replacing the center compartment lock No.2 (Center Console Box lock), see the below diagram, I've broken the lock (in red) and need to replace it. the lock is fitted on the top compartment deck (the one which is marked in blue) I got the part but how to dismantle the old lock ? can anyone help. Thanks
  6. At a private shop with original parts, and $50 was the labor charge.
  7. I finally had to replace the PS pump with the reservoir tank and the small hose between them. total cost was $490
  8. Maybe you have air in the system? It shouldnt overflow, no matter what. When it does this, does it keep coming out, or do you stop it then? Ah i don't know, have to try this i usually close the reservoir cap to avoid further mess.
  9. Of course the LS430 because: 1- It is stronger (speed & acceleration) :) 2- Rear wheel drive (better tire wear and easier when it comes to withstanding road bumps) 3- Luxurious (in front of your friends, your family, and for you social life) B) 4- Bigger and heavier (safety) 5- and many more.......
  10. Hi, I have a 1998 LS400, when I open the reservoir cap I find the P.S. fluid bubbling and in around 20 sec. it overflows and makes the surrounding messy. Any idea why? Steering is not hard and no leaks
  11. I don't mean the normal fluctuation, its every 3 sec. the RPM needle is going up and down, i think that something is wrong with AC idle up mechanism.
  12. Hi, I have a 1998 LS400; my problem is that when I start my AC after a while the RPM needle starts to fluctuate between 600 and 800 continuously every 3 sec. Is there any idle up mechanism that starts working when AC is on only? because I have no fluctuation when I switch off the AC.
  13. Hi, I have a 1998 LS400; my problem is that when I start my AC after a while the RPM needle starts to fluctuate between 700 and 900 every 3 sec (while the compressor is engaged). The fluctuation is most noticeable when the electrical fan is engaged. Any idea why it is happening?
