  1. i know in the us model it is in the trunk. they are all analog and are pretty much useless here in us. i think australian model would have it in the same place. dont remember where in the trunk it is.
  2. try www.taprecycling.com give them a call and might be able to find smth for you. the cars that they part are listed on the website.
  3. after doing extensive research, i went to costco and got them there. awesome tires, i will upgrade my 04 LS to them within a year. michelin pilot improves handling without sacrificing the ride quality, they have a very good rating on tirerack as all weather http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?ti...del=Pilot+Sport not sure why they removed winter rating, when i was bying them 3 years ago they had winter rating around8. costco also offer 7 years warranty, free balancing and rotation. all for 700$:)
  4. wow, those upgrades are like 10 times the cost of the car if not more:) nice project u got there:)
  5. did you check coils? misfire can be due either incorrect timing, bad coils, rotors, rotor caps cables or spark plugs, since you checked rotors, rotor caps, check coils and spark plugs.
  6. actually no, it is a sway bar:) an there is an endlink on each side that connects it to the whole wheel assembly. bushings on the endlink detoriate with time and then you can start hearing a lound bang every time there is a movement. as to the shock absorbers, i guess it all depends on the where and how u drive. on mine one of the shocks died completely and i decided to change all of them. but if they are not dead you dont have to change it, but changing them drastically improved the ride quality.
  7. sorry lexusontario, i went to the website and i was not able to find the link to request a manual. i emailed lexus but so far i have not gotten a repsonse.
  8. i run all 3 of my cars at 32 psi. it also depends on what kind of tires you have on the car. on the 96 i have michelin pilot sport 225/60/16 that are Z rated, even at the 32 psi they give me pretty good handling. on the civic i got pirelli p zero nero 215/45/17 and the 04 ls i have some not very good kumho H rated tires. the softer tires you get the more life u gonna get out of them but the handling is going to be worse. i got 96 with t rated tires, it was like driving on the baloons, the whole car was shaking and swerving every time i would do a hard turn or change the lane at high speed. after z rated tires were installed its like a completely different car now:) so its hard to say whats the best pressure since the tire size, tire rating and the state of your suspension play a big role in the whole driving experience. my civic with 1 inch drop and 17 inch rimz with z rated tires is pretty stiff even with 30 psi but it keep it up to 32 to protect rimz from ny roads:)
  9. i remember there was a thread here about the circuit that is responsible for that light. as far as i remember it is located somewhere around the middle brake light. it is worth checking if that circuit is still working as expected.
  10. well he is wrong. fuel filter needs to be replaced every 30-45k while shocks are pretty much dead by now in your car. i recently replaced mine at 140k and they were completely dead.i would recommend changing them when you can and DO get OEM parts if you want to keep that lexus ride quality. they are not that expensive. also while you are there change the ball joints in the lower control arms, check bushings on upper control arms and end links at the front sway bar.
  11. for the brakes they prolly did not install the shims. no matter what kind of pads you going to install, they are going to squeak unless you install the shim kits:) and they are also directional, if installed incorrectly, they are going to make a lound clunking noise when u drive in reverse, brake and then drive forward and brake.
  12. nice clean install. any dvd player is compatible with the lockpick?
  13. well vibration at high speeds can be fixed by the tire balancing. has nothing to do with the tire unless you have broken cords inside the tire and tire has a "hernia". they are def trying to squeeze more $ out from you by trying to sell you new tires:) drifting to the right can be fixed with wheel alignment but rotation should not cause misalignment unless they did it on purpose. IMHO i would not trust crooks like midas to work on your precious lexus. just find a local mechanic who is going to take care of the car.
  14. i know my friend got his GS on ebay. but then he flew from ny to texas and drove it back here. the best advice is look at the reputation of the seller, how many feedbacks, how long has he been on ebay etc. check negative feedbacks etc. i would not agree for shipping, its always better to pay a 500$ deposit and then fly there and check the car out and then drive it yourself. this way if you dont like the car you only loose 500$ and not the price of the whole car because if there is smth wrong its going to be very hard to prove it or to even contact the seller once the money change hands.
  15. well if you get the factory repair manual, they have descriptions of the error codes and what to do to troubleshoot them. each warning light can be caused by few components. they have procedures on what to do to pinpoint the failing element. this is the best i can do to help you, i only have repair manuals for 95-97 model years. i checked ebay and i have not seen any for your year for sale. i woulrd recommend you to check out that website i posted in the earlier post.
  16. this is one nice looking LS i have to say. as to the rest, i dont really know much bout this pronlem. thankfully, mine is under warranty so i didnt have to purchase a repair manual with the codes and testing procedures. try checking ebay for repair manuals or register at alldatadyi.com which will give you access to the manual online.
  17. as far as i remember they dont, some harnesses are different and the wattage on the gs amp is smaller. dealership where i got the car messed mine up when steaming the interior and they didnt have new one in stock, so first they pulled one from the GS and it didnt fit and then they had to get it form another LS.
  18. Good car, just needs a lil bit of cleaning up:) Welcome to the club!
  19. did you change tranny fluid? did you check tranny fluid level? as to black smoke, did you change the spark plugs? black smoke is when the fuel/air mixture is not at correct levels. also check wiring, distributors, distributor caps and air filter. all of these can cause black smoke
  20. your best bet for these parts is ebay.
  21. it also could be the frame damage. one of my cars in the past used to do it aftercollision.
  22. welcome to the club:) please be more specific about the problem.
  23. also could be a stuck needle. search the forum on how to remove the dash and check on the gauge.

    Hid Kit

nice attitude you got there buddy. even if you dont care about people, please keep those thoughts to yourself. as to pythons problem, here, in US, not only its not legal to install those kits, you can get a pretty big ticket. plus with majority of the hid kits being "borrowed" from maximas and TLs, local police usually keepts track of all those upgrades and having hid kit is another reason for them to pull you over. there are many hid kits out there, they differ in the bulb type and intensity. in the best case you need a different lens as well. "random bulb type" is not going to work for you lex. if i remember correctly you need an H3 type bulb for your year.
  25. does this new dvd improve the quality of the map or it just updates the map data?
