My transmission acts (or acted) like yours. When you accelerate, does the car shudder? Mine did that, and a week later, the car transmission failed., so it's sitting.

Yes, it's a great car ,even with its share of little minor things. I'm surprised the rearview mirror and PS have'nt failed.

The tranny in our LS died, and I'm looking at a couple of different replacement transmissions. First is from a 1992 SC400, and the second is from a 1992 LS400. Would they fit my 1990 LS400? I believe the two are identical, but I may have read that the '92 has different solenoid plugs? Any help is appreciated!

I've been meaning to sign up here for a couple months now, but was too busy. Well, we finally purchased our first Lexus in September, a 1990 LS400 (for only $1800!). It has 245,000 miles but runs so smooth as if it were 50k. Anyways, it's been a pleasure to drive and a huge step up in comfort. It's really my mom's car, but I asked her to get it :whistles:. I am an ardent fan of Lexus (I'm 15 BTW). The transmission just failed, however, but it kinda came expectedly. I'll ask for help in a seperate post though. Pics! It's not in tip top condition but it's beautiful to me.
