  1. hey everybody! thank you very much for your support and i will try to do my best:) Danny sorry i was not able to make it to brooklyn since i was in europe. i did 2k kms there in 3 weeks visiting france, switzerland germany and austria and i did not see any lexus cars except 5 or 6 Rx!!!! anyway i just got back on jan 19 and i hope i will see you another time:) once again thank you all for support:)
  2. doesnt look like a supra engine to me from the pic. plus it has been done on Sc because both supra and Sc have I6 engines while Ls v8 engine is bigger and has different connections and auxillary devices. this means you have to modify everything and it will cost ya! especially welding new base for the engine
  3. the bblinking ac light usually means that there is an error in AC system and you have to get the error code out in order to understand wha is wrong with it. i just dont remember which 2 buttons u have to hold while turning ignition on to get the error code out. once you get it ouy you will know what is sexactly wrong with your Ac system withouy gusessing.
  4. had this problem had to shake thos battery terminals and put a screwdriver into the plug to get a good contact and only then i was able to start the car. if you have all the lights on with the ignition on but when u try to crank the engine it dies then it definetly the bad contact.
  5. i have chrome rims and they had weights only on the inner side and i had the same vibration problem until i went to the shop and they balanced them again but this time with weights on both sides and it solved the problem. before this i changed rims and tires and it didnt help!
  6. it doesnt really matter since you have to go to the dealer and get that paint and you will just give the guy your vin number and he will give you correct paints.
  7. unfortuanately fuel tank is located right between the rear seat and the trunk so there is no way of opening it from inside. as to the main switch i'm sure i can understasnd what you are talking about.
  8. once again, this spees specific vibration is 90% due to the unbalanced wheels. i had this problem for a while and i checked everzthing and it turned out to be unbalanced wheels. its a 5$ job for a wheel and u need to check only front 2 wheels. i think its worth trying to eliminate this cause b4 going to deep. dont repeat my mistake. i alreacy changed brake rotors, lower arms and a rim with a tire!
  9. but with 1 quart you will not change all fluid but only a small part of it.
  10. if its only when you press the brake pedal it might be that your front rotors are bent. most probably it is the cause and also check the balance of your front tires. if they are okey then have your front rotors resurfaced and only after this do the alignment since its a complicated job on a lexus
  11. its a realy hard job to do, i opened my audio headunit to do this job and i gae up coz i was scared to destroy the whole unit.
  12. does this price include OEM parts ? if yes then do it and just be there while they gonna work on it to make sure they install parts that they charged you for.
  13. its nt original. this is what happens to the filter after one year. i replaced mine a year ago and now it looks just like urz. all youhave to do it clean it with compressed air and its gonna serve you another year.
  14. why would u want to drain the system? just get around 8 bottles of dextron III transmission fluid and flush it with it. disconnect the return hose and connect it to the extension with the bottle. start the engine and add fluid while the old one is drained from the return hose. i had to use 7 bottles b4 my fluid went back to transparent pink.
  15. do you have a spare head unit or amp available? that would make things easier since you will not have to test anything. if you dont then you have to do some testing. do you hear hissing from the speaker when you put your ear close to it? if you do it means that ur amp is ok and the problem is in the headunit. to make sure check all the outputs from the headunit and during the cutout and see if they match with the normal ones. let me know about the result.i'm not sure when i will be able to reply since i travel by car in europe but i definetly will during next week. HapPy New YEar!!!
  16. manual specifically said use DEXTRON type II or III fluid. but a lot of mechanices flushed the power steering system with regular power steering due to their ignorance and lack of desire to check for instructions. they should be held responsible for the damage if there is any!
  17. you dont have to change your timing belt if its in good condition and pulley bearings dont make noise. run your engine at 700-1000 rpm and listen to the sound of it. if there is no whining noise then you are ok. just remove uppper right timing belt cover and inspect tension and condition of it. i changed mine at 125k miles since one of the bearings on tenstion pulleys went bad and was about to die on me and spilled some grease on the timing belt. i did the timing belt/water pump change myself and it took me 8 hours. i have a specific instrucioons on how to change it and you can email me if you want it. i'm in europe now and will not be able to send it to you until i get back in 3 weeks. HAPPY NEW YEAR:)
  18. if the light came on it means there was an error code and even if the light is off it should be kept in the ECM until you reset it. so try to get the error code out. i'm not sure if it will work on ur LS since i have a gen II LS but i guess its worth a try and might save u some $$ HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
  19. there is a pretty good one in brooklyn but he is not cheap as well. i try to do simple stuff on my car myself and oil changes on LS are really easy. just get original toyota filter from the dealer for like 11$ and oil and you can do it in your drive way
  20. you can even bent or brake you rim if its not an original one. Ls is a heavy car and aftermarket quality rims that are able to hold this kind of load are pretty expensive. wha ti can advice is to get a whole set of OEM rims and tires for 95-2000 LS they will fit perfectly on the gen I LS and you would not worry about those potholes and the rest of the trouble.
  21. i had a 93 concorde 3.5 white color. paint was so strong that i never had to do wax and always washed it in the auto car wash and it was still shining.
  22. thats why i dont go there at all. i always wash it manually. since you washed it there i recommend a full wax on your car to get rid of all the scratches and squirls etc
  23. what it really does is it turns off 4th gear and makes switching RPM limits higher. eg if in regular mode it was at 2k rpms then with this feature on it will be 3k. but what i noticed that on some cars it disables 4th gear and on some dont. so it means that on some cars it works just like regular overdrive button and on some like a swithcing RPM designer
  24. 96 i dont know why it is different with your car. i know lots people who compained about this. spesically at high speed above 90. try to quickly change line and you might feel it too.
  25. damn this is upsetting. same thing happend to a friend of mine while he was standing on a traffic light some bum smashed into his GS and almost totalled it. and guess what? he had no insurance and no license. bum went to prison but no $ were give to fix GS...... there is an option in insurance that if the insurance of the peroson whos fault was that will not cover full repair your insurance should add money for it.
