  1. Recently saw a link to a step by step brake/rotor replacement with pics for the LS 400.....Anyone know where to go for it. I searched, but could not find the exact link to the tutorial. thanks, as I will be attempting the brake/rotor job soon.
  2. THis is appropriate for the tire/wheel forums, but wanted to ask specifically to those who have the LS 400. Upgrading to 17 inch wheels, and most tire shops say to use offsett of at least +35mm. The 17 inch wheels I intend to purchase have a widh of 8" and offset of +30mm. Was wondering if this offset would work on the 90 LS 400. Planning to get 235 45 17 tires. Most tire/wheel shops are reading from various books, so I wanted to know first hand from those with actual experience. And yes, bolt pattern as well as center bore match up. Car will not be lowered and has non-adjustable suspension with stock brakes. Thanks in advance for the advice.
  3. THANKS Tansupplyman!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There is a company......towerpaint.com that will mix the factory color into an aerosol can. The spot I have to do is on the lower front bumper. A light sanding and adhesion promoter (also from towerpaint) will do the trick. I did this on my mercedes 300e and it looked great. A buddy of mine took his (Merc) to the dealer, and you can clearly see the "new" paint as they had trouble matching (as they used computerized matching). thanks again.
  4. Was wondering if anyone knew where to locate paint code....or more specifically, if anyone had the paint code for two-tone silver lexus. Need upper silver paint code, as well as lower (darker) silver code. It is for a 1990 ls. I tried the manual to no avail. thanks.
  5. BTW....90 LS 400 w/112K dealer maintained including recent w/pump/t-belt.
  6. Posted this in the UK site....now here: Vehicle has a rattling noise upon acceleration (sounds like a loose heat shield)...could this be it? any other causes? Rattle is a deep rattle and happens for about 2 seconds while accelerating normally from dead stop or under load. Thanks in advance
