  1. never heard about that, mine got 130 and still going strong, the only bearings i had to change were the timing belt pulleys bearings and waterpump bearing
  2. you will hear a noise while you drive. you might experience small vibrations about this
  3. no no no, this is just for the relay in the fuse box. the one that called ST, remove it and test it as i described above.
  4. well it all depends on the lenght of the wrench, but yes i did pulled it manually:) i didnt have air comrpressor handy and elctric screwdriver was too big to fit in there so i had no choise:) lextreme anytime:)
  5. hey, did you try your starter b4 you installed it? manual said you should test it b4 installing it. as to the ECU, there is no separate ECU for it instead it is connected to the body ECU and ECM via ST. just to make sure this is not st make sure there is continuity between terminals 1 and 2, they are the ones that located like this 1| |2 while number 3| is below and no continuity between 3 and 5 which are 3-|5 . check the operation as well apply poweer to ternianls 1 and 2 and check that there is continuity between 3 and 5. if it all ok then might be smth else. also this click ing troiubles me. did it just click but doesnt spin at all? click means that the pinion gear comes out and connects to fly wheel. sometimes thie pinion gear is broken and starter just spins. let me know of the results and specifics of the clicking
  6. i have people telling me that those filters are great. some of them got whole assembly with the ECU that connects between the MFS and ECU but none of those people drive lexus.:) K&N should be a good brand but me personally not ready to give up my assembly with original OEM filters which i change every 10k. but this is just me. my friend with GS has some kind os super filter but i dont think its K&N and he paid around 400$ for it
  7. its a scary method. but i did it differenty and i this i said about that. what i did is i was pulling the wrent while my friend went underneath the car and stuck the screwdriver in the flywheell. i think this is more safe and its less scary for novise people since timing marks will not move.
  8. yeah might be a good idea. wanda lets start the topic and if we will get a lot of feedback i will pin it
  9. i dont think compression test has anything to do with it. but get a scanner and check ur ECM for error codes. even if the engine light is not on they might be there. if this is not gonna help then you should look into swapping starter ECU with another one, just for the try. i dont have electrical diagrams for your car but i have 1996 LS400 so we have the same engine but i still not sure if the data i'm gonna give u will be liek urz but its worhth a try error codes and then we will troubleshoot more
  10. why dont you just get a rebuilt bump on one of theinternet sites in us for example www.autozone.com and have it shipped to you? pump is only 100$, shipping will be around 25-30$ and another 50$ for install.
  11. jpi i mean you offer services for local customers only or you do nationwide support? i usually do everything myself but in some cases i might use a good mechanic:)
  12. but what if you are located far away? or you have local shops ?
  13. i really think i shoudl pin this topic since it provides very good info that might be used by some of us pretty soon:) btw Mike do you know prices for the gen II body kits?
  14. what kind of problems you think this car got? i have gen II as well so i might be of some use for you:)
  15. yeah this is what i did, when you call in prices usually higher and when u mention online prices they tell you to order online and then call in to confirm.
  16. yeah it was,. but i gave the article to lextreme and he posted it on his site.:) so thank him too that it still exists:)
  17. even if the engine lights is not on you might check for error codes. when i did timing belt change on my friends LS we set timing just a lil bit off the factory settings and it gave us same problem as your plus misfiring around 3-4k rpms.... just a guess. ..
  18. i usually get all OEM toyota parts at www.newlexusparts.com very decent prices. you can also try www.parts.com to find another internet toyota/lexus parts dealer. good luck
  19. it is a catalitic converter, one of the guys in the LS forum had this problem with his 2 year old LS but lexus refused to change it under warranty stating that it cannot fail. sometimes it is really frustrating to deal with lexus on those issues. i have seen topics about this issue in different forums and it looks like most of the lexus models have this problem once in a while.
  20. here ya go http://www.lextreme.com/timing.htm i also have a 10 mb file with the tutorial as well. but its easier to get it from the site.
  21. i will find out tomorrow at work and i will let you know:) this supra stuff is beyond my knowledge but i got a supra guru at work:)
  22. :)at least this, hope something will come up for gen II
  23. ok the original engine on that supra was 7mgte and it came with single turbo. the turbo kit on the nissan sentra is hks -2835 capable of 25-30 psi while those originalt turbos from 2jzgte will self destruct at 15 psi.
  24. yeah, thats what i'm talking about. r u sure i can use supra sway bar?
  25. not sure now, i will tell you on monday:)
