  1. Did you run a carfax on the vehicle? Unfortunately Lexus isn't legally obligated to do anything but I'm certain they'd more than likely want to avoid legal action either way. eatingupblacktop's suggestion may help you out. I had a friend with a failed transmission on his honda that was way out of warranty but honda ate the labor cost of the repair all he paid for was parts. Maybe they'll work something out.. it's worth a shot.
  2. I think most of those wheels are hideous... I also think the ES is hideous.. the 2gs is by far the sexiest Lexus around... especially mine. :P jk. I've got more ebay bling that a little bit. ok, enough of my BS... although i really do have a lot of ebay bling... honestly if someone wants to pimp out their car that's all good, I'm not going to have hate towards anyone that expresses their creativity this way... I mean sure I may point and laugh, but hey I'm not judging anyone.. :whistles: VIP, DUB Style, Street Style, and other fanatics make fun of my GS all the time... but hey its alright... while they're polishing up their rims I'm waxing their GF's asparagus is a delicious food. I don't have to make sense.
  3. If you're nearing 100000 miles I'd say it wouldn't hurt to do the ball joints and tie rods... There is a lot available in terms of suspension packages. What's your goal? Coilovers, Universal Air Suspensions, new Springs, New Struts... pick your pleasure... I'm running on Tannabe NF210's on Bilsteins, Daizen bushing upgrades, Tom's 6-links, front jdm strutbar... these upgrades eliminated the "float" and definitely improved cornering and reduced body roll without compromising ride quality. Carson Toyota offers lots of stuff for you to browse through. Your budget is your limit. http://www.l-tunedparts.com/index.php
  4. crap.. i just started getting some metallic sounding rattling under acceleration today.... i guess I'll find it when I pull out my dashboard in spring... <_<
  5. Any competent mechanic can service the brakes for you... unfortunately finding a competent mechanic can be difficult. Go to someone in your area with a good rep.
  6. there are lots of vendors on that other forum who's name I won't mention... eh... I got my stuff from them.
  7. vibrating as in the ABS kicking in vibration? or maybe a warped rotor?
  8. hmmmm, rent the scanner from autozone so that when the light pops up you can scan it then and there.
  9. I believe it was $125 an hour when i checked last year...
  10. Get the CEL scanned for free at autozone or some other retail autoparts store. Find what code you've got and we can take it from there.
  11. How many Jersey natives does it take to change a light bulb? j.k. Hope this link helps. It has DIY's from an older GS4 but it should be the same... surprisingly I've never had to change my brake lights yet... only the high stop ones... http://bananags.grantham-international.com/
  12. lol.. yeah.. he didn't even get in.. it was just a look of disgust.
  13. It kind of looks like they're just catching up to Mobil1EP products but not on the Amsoil level yet... this is purely from my marketing point of view and has nothing to do with the actual oil...
  14. sounds like it could be an issue with the axle... have a local shop check it out.. they should be able to take a look for free..
  15. So uh, what do you guys know about bankruptcy? I know the laws have changed a lot over the years but unfortunately I never looked into them because I never felt a need to. After getting laid off I'm just starting to wonder what options I have for a worst case scenario.
  16. my steering wheel does that too sometimes when its very cold... it usually just goes away when the interior of the car warms up... it just sounds like plastic brushing up against rubber...
  17. This site had decent pricing on nexen's http://www.edgeracing.com/
  18. http://www.clublexus.com/forums/rx300-foru...po171-code.html I hope that provides some insight... let us know how it goes.
  19. I only really know of one aftermarket housing that comes with a built in projector and thats the one that I currently have installed. They'll run you about $250 or so but they really feel chintzy compared to the OEM lamps. They do the job though. I wish i had some 430 power.... but i don't so most of upgrades are suspension oriented... if I ever actually get them installed. My gs3 has been named Bertha... idk why i let my ex gf name it. :( .. please pick something better than bertha... although that shouldn't be hard.
  20. at least it doesn't bubble up and spit out like it does in my friends mazda3... slow is the way to go...
  21. I have nexens on my 19's... 20k miles in them so far and I have no complaints about their performance.. although I really should take them off... its gonna snow tonight... I got them locally at a custom wheel shop for about $160 a piece I think... I can't really remember it was quite some time ago, but there was a site that sold them for really good prices as well, I'll try to see if I can find it again.
