  1. wires... plugs.. clean the TB.. you should be good.. unless you're due for a timing belt change... thats a lot of fun.. <_< Here is a guide to a bunch of DIY stuff... http://www.clublexus.com/forums/gs-second-...you-search.html
  2. I use a microfiber rag and some brake parts cleaner sometimes... never really had to clean the GS' engine bay.. but if you do just don't get any water in the plugs and you should be alright...
  3. Congrats on the new ride! I'm gonna be a jerk though and say I would've went with a g35... i could just be saying that because i've been seeing some great deals on them recently..
  4. it should be relatively the same but comparing quotes with other people is a waste of time mostly because of how insurance companies calculate individual rates. factors like education/income/driving record/credit score ect come into play...
  5. hah, i'm just posting to see how many i have...
  6. Congrats on the new acquisition... it will serve you well.
  7. Maybe some quality suspension upgrades... I have a set of bilsteins on tannabe NF210s and a set of KYB's on NF210's if you're interested in a set.
  8. Its looking real purty. I've reverted back to stock... damn funemployment isn't so fun anymore.
  9. open up your sunroof and clean your drain openings there with some weedwacker cord. If you're still getting water seeping down there its probably due to a dislodged hose and thats no fun trying to fix...
  10. please don't donk out a GS... PLEASE. :o
  11. Spend a little more.. get a lot more.. check out onlinecarstereo or something and do some comparisons if you're on a budget... the stock radios do not have a subwoofer RCA out... you'll probably have to use a hi/low filter from the stock sub output... it would be easier to just bypass the amp and use a new headunit though.. not to mention the added features...
  12. I have the sub from my 02 GS3 available if you want to use an OEM replacement. Non mark levison though.
  13. its on the bottom left hand (driver side) corner of the radiator... you can't really mistake it for anything else... I'll try to take a pic of it today when I change my oil... if I change my oil.. the pavement is really hot...
  14. I've noticed a slow needle on several toyota manufactured vehicles... sometimes a lil chevron fuel system cleaner works on dissolving anything that may be restricting the float... its probably not going to be a cheap fix... but its not really a major problem either... just an inconvenient one... does the gas light come on accurately or is it just the needle thats acting crazy?
  15. That heat shield rattle seems to be a common thing unfortunately I have not fixed mine yet, I was going to see if I could just tighten it when I redo my exhaust.
  16. I would just clean up everything... just spray some brake cleaner if its really oily and try to pinpoint where the leak is coming from.
  17. probably just an oil and air filter change... call up a local dealer and ask them.
  18. If you're seeing oil on your driveway its probably leaking from a filter or the oil drain plug. Did you put oil around the filter gasket before you tightened it? Try hand tightening the filter a little more and check to see that the drain plug and gasket are secure. Be careful not to over tighten it. It may also be a good idea to clean the surrounding areas so than you can pinpoint the leak. Other fluids may leak as well so getting under your car and doing some investigating is going to be the best way to find it. How many miles are on your car?
  19. you can probably find the glass at a junkyard... a lot of places will put it on for you also.
  20. OEM foglights? The foglights can only come on when the headlights are on unless you did some minor rewiring... I'm not sure if the foglights have their own relay/fuse but I'd give that a check.
  21. That sounds about right, you don't need to go to the dealer. I recently had my timing belt, water pump, spark plugs, ignition wires, valve cover gaskets, crank seals, tensioners, and all my fluids changed for about $500 in labor... $300 in labor sounds great. I used all OEM parts from irontoad.com
  22. yep... sounds like bad luck... if you repair a crack or chip/bullseye a.s.a.p. you can save your windshield and lots of money.
  23. take it apart again and check it out.. it can be any number of things obstructing the shifter.
  24. ... as soon as i get a job... and some insurance... i'm getting a physical... :(
