  1. Thanks I'll give it a try. I changed the gas cap and check the hoses around the airbox. I did't notice any hoses disconnected. The code #'s are P0125, P01130 and P01135. I am going to try and check the hoses again and see if I see anyting. I think the last two codes should have been p1130 and p1135 which are both often triggered by a faulty Air Fuel Ratio sensor (similar to an oxygen sensor). Check to see if your car has California Emissions Approval, if it is chances are that you need to change the A/F Ratio sensor. The po125 code can also be triggered by a faulty a/f ratio sensor... I would suggested checking that out. The sensors are pretty pricey though.. about 136 at rockauto.com i believe.
  2. overfilled twice... thats just some rotten luck... i've never had anyone overfill any vehicle I've ever gotten an oil change for... How did you estimate that it was 100% overfilled?
  3. check under the car to see is the drain from the condenser is clogged...
  4. Nice setup! What intake tube did you use? not a Joe Z is it?
  5. 87octane vs 93 probably won't effect the life of your oxygen sensor but it will effect your performance... your car's ECU automatically retards timing when you use lower octane gas. 91 is the minimum recommended I believe. What was the exact code that they gave you. Changing an o2 sensor is really easy, but sometimes its hard to reach. There are a couple of DIY guides for this type of job, posting the CEL code would help me tell you which one you need. You can also get a denso 02 sensor from rockauto.com for less than autozone.
  6. Nice of you to respond but the thread is old as dirt.... look at the date from the initial post...
  7. just go back to your stock setup.. that intake is most likely a waste of money....
  8. lol, sorry about the last name thing, although i don't think you have to worry much about stalkers on here. I have the direct brand, i think DEI is the manufacturer plugged into my Prestige XR9000..... i can't adjust the range but I think I'll just exchange it for another one. also one note, i had #74 led for the shifter light that didn't fit correctly. I had a bunch of those LEDS around when I did my alarm, i tried swapping one in, but it was too tall... it may have been from a different source as i tend to throw all my led's in on box... i guess diffrent sellers have different dimensions.. just something to consider.
  9. You win this time Matty! Looks like I was wrong.. so i guess the one carson sells is just really overpriced...? I thought that it would at least be color matched for that amount of money... Maybe this thread may shed some light... or at last stir up some ideas. http://www.clublexus.com/forums/gs-second-...n-your-2gs.html
  10. Brian ... you are the man. FTW! Thanks for this write up. I'll do doing this when I remove my faulty proximity sensor.. its keeps falsing my alarm...
  11. The shop lied to you... a perfect match is made... you can order it from carson toyota.. it is an OEM double din dash kit.... the only thing is it cost a bit more than the metra/scosche ones but the color and texture match is exact. http://l-tunedparts.com/product/?id=1726
  12. I never looked into this but if you want to register your car and have the manual sent to me I can just mail it you.... let me know... assuming they send you an actual printed copy?
  13. I like my car to smell like pineapples... it helps me forget the miserable NY weather... whenever I really miss the new car smell, i go test drive a new car.
  14. i think a light compounding, or cleaner wax should clear that up...
  15. I think I'll simultaneously seafoam all of the cars infront of my house.. . my version of spring cleaning and also just to annoy my neighbors... hopefully the fire department doesn't show up again...
  16. You don't have much to worry about... you can even go with a flush and fill... I believe you should only use toyota brand ATF-IV fluid though. This stuff isn't expensive and you can pick it up at any toyota or lexus dealer. If there is a serviceable filter you may as well drop the pan, clean the magnets, and change the filter while you're at it. If you're doing multiple drain and fills you can drain ( i think it may be about 2 quarts) refill, drive around a little and repeat... this process is not too efficient but it is the least invasive...
  17. I have 35% all around with 50% on my windshield... I may be going lighter since NY police are on a ticketing spree. I was going to go for 50% all around using security film.. i doubt the security film actually works as advertised but I'll give it a try.
  18. hahaha.. all that work for the smell of industrial adhesives and plastics... goodluck. I'll definitely try out whatever you pick as the winner.
  19. New tires solved the problem for me... as soon as I went with aftermarket wheels the problem came back... usually feeling more shaking coming from the front passenger side. I put the OEM wheels back on the other day which are wrapped in michellin exalto's and the wheel shake went away.. its strange because the other wheels are showing up as balancing fine.. I know the guy above me has gone through great lengths to solve this mystery.
  20. onlinecarstereo.com is usually a decent place to pick up audio gear... it really depends on what you're looking to do though... sonic electronics is also pretty good.
  21. BFI eh... http://planetsoarer.com/BFIDIY/BFIDIY.html http://planetsoarer.com/BFI3/bfi3.htm hope that helps...
  22. very carefully..... thats all i have to say... oh and with CRC MAF cleaner... be careful, mafs are very fragile! All you usually have to do is unplug the MAF, removed it.. use the cleaner as instructed, let it dry and put it back. Are you getting a Check Engine light at all? If so it could indicate the reason behind a rough idle.
  23. It's very simple to add aftermarket HID's to your car... the kits are usually just plug and play... kits start at around 125... http://www.mod-express.com/ http://www.xenithxenons.com/ are just some of the many companies out there.....
  24. duplicate post... using search if your friend... http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...showtopic=44742
  25. If you're idle is really rough I'd suggest cleaning your MAF and throttle body... also check for vacuum leaks. Seafoam isn't a mechanic in a bottle but it does have some effect as advertised. It never messed with my cat's or 02 sensors so I don't really view it as harmful. I've used it on several vehicles as well. I usually let 1/2 the can get sucked in through a vacuum line (brake booster is a good bet) and the other half I throw in with the engine oil... I drive for 100 miles and do an oil change... They're are more detailed instructions and even youtube videos. Do a little searching and you'll find it.
