  1. no i do not have one laying around. and my GE motor needs piston rings. so na-t is not really an option na-t is always an option! put together a built GE jk.... what year is your GS? I think a direct 2jz swap would be easier... you can put a 1jz in but that would probably a lot more work than its worth.... and would probably cost your more with all the stuff you'd need to fabricate... also what signs do you have indicating a need for new piston rings? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Aristo-GS30...sQ5fAccessories
  2. Get the SRT intake which includes a piggyback ECU... stick to OEM plugs, torquemasters are supposed to be good but I have no personal experience with them.
  3. I use the OEM filter on my GS3 since I have 3 vehicles that all use the same filter... however I do know of certain well known users on other forums that do use the larger filters (longer) just because it increases oil capacity slightly.
  4. Do you have an ES300 or GS300...? either way I'd say get a second opinion...
  5. Hey I know its a long shot but would anyone be able to direct me to information on the Official Marketing Plan of Lexus. I've tried searching but I've only found people's essays. Any info would be great. Thanks.
  6. If you have a masterkey you can program in a new key while also erasing the transponder access for the old key. The old key will no longer work to start the car but I'm not certain if the remote functions would still work.
  7. You can find some feedback on different setups here. http://www.clublexus.com/forums/gs-second-...ed-threads.html
  8. do you have a 1jz laying around... you could just do a 2jzgte swap... or just go na-t...
  9. Did you replace it with an OEM gascap? This link may provide insight to some of the causes. http://www.clublexus.com/forums/gs-second-...eplacement.html
  10. When I do the drain and fills on my 02 GS3 its usually a little more than 2quarts.. about 2.4quarts... I usually just measure whats drained out in a container with lines that I got from the dollar store... and yes its accurate, I checked it first with pre-measured water to make sure the lines weren't off. I wouldn't expect much more to come out of the a GS430 but I would just measure to be safe.
  11. I wondered the same thing when I first got my 2gs... I ended up never changing mine... I just hit 100k and it still looks and appears to operate fine... http://www.clublexus.com/forums/gs-second-...-to-change.html
  12. Bowtie- Are you SURE the plugs are Iridium? The reason I ask is the iridium plugs list for about $22.-$24. each. I was able to find them (Denso Iridium) online for about $8.+ and since the seller was local was able to pick them up. That was the BEST price that I found. I can't imagine Napa selling them for that. Are you sure they aren't PLATINUM? Sounds more like the price for platinum. There is a huge difference in the quality of the 2 plugs. even on the denso website they're less that $12 a plug... who the heck is selling them for $22?
  13. Inexpensive is a relative term... its not too much money to boost a 2jz though... but spend your money wisely so you can get a reliable 312whp... you can find people selling good used parts on other parts too..
  14. the V8 is schweet... although i still love my 2jz... it just needs some time at the gym.
  15. Search is your friend. I've used seafoam on numerous vehicles that have the same engine as your RX300. It's not as harsh as most people actually think it is. I usually add half the bottle into the oil and the other half sucked in through the pcv or brake booster lines. If your engine has problems already... its not a mechanic in a bottle so don't expect any miracles. There is no need to change your sparkplugs unless they're due to be changed. If you already have a sludge issue its not going to do much help either. If you don't know if you have a sludge issue pull your Valve Cover Gasket and take a look. I suggested pouring doing a seafoam treatment about 100 miles before your next oil change. Although I usually do a seafoam treatment, go for some spirited driving and change my oil and filter a few minutes later. You might as well clean your your throttle body whiles your at it.
  16. I believe a regular drain and fill drains about 2.3 quarts... thats if you just pull the drain plug and let it flow out... its only like an eighth of the fluid though. Do a search, this topic has been covered a few times you'll find a plethora of information on here.
  17. with the prices of cars so low these days you can probably upgrade nicely if it comes to it.
  18. I installed a few seat covers from leatherseats.com and although its very time consuming it's not hard at all... the only thing I have not done is replaced foam.. I'd leave that to the pros.
  19. Are you using Toyota ATF+4 fluid... if not you need to... other than that it could be a failing solenoid or a bad transmission mount... hopefully someone more knowledgeable can chime in.
  20. An aftermarket headunit with an aftermarket amp and some great component speakers can't be beat by anything stock.
  21. check the northeast subsection on clublexus.com post the same question up there.
  22. lol.. some poor soul is going to end up buying that loaner.... Dealers do try to nickel and dime you more often than not, but $5 isn't bad... besides they're having a hard time as it is staying profitable.. I mean.. we drive lexus'es eh Lexi.. whatever... they're not in for repairs too often so they gotta stick it to you when they can!
