  1. Let me know what you're looking for... type of speakers... type of box... model of car.. ect...
  2. it can cause scalloping type wear on the tires... you can buy a new set of KYB shocks for about $320 and get them installed elsewhere... you'll probably need to get your alignment done also...
  3. I always thought the exclamation mark was the Tire Pressure Monitor... ?
  4. This has been discussed at great length on many different threads if you run a search... You'll be fine using regular.. but you will lose performance and probably would get worse fuel economy than if you had just gone with premium gas... the ecu retards the timing to accommodate lower octane fuels but you spend the money on a lexus.. why cheap out now... just play it safe and use 91+ octane...
  5. You can replace the Lower ball joints without replacing the control arms... unless the control arms are broken.. if the bushings are worn on your control arms you can also get new bushings pressed on... if there is excessive play in the ball joint get it changed asap.. there is nothing fun about losing a wheel while driving... check tie rods too while you're at it. http://www.clublexus.com/forums/suspension...m-problems.html
  6. First I'd say use the proper fluid... where was the fluid leaking from? Was it overfilled before? Possibly a bad tranny mount?
  7. You mean you ran wires (RCA's) from your radio to your amp, and then speaker wires from your amp to your speakers??? If you're not getting any sound, check the settings on your radio and make sure that your remote wire is turning on the amp... More detail to your questions and setup would be helpful. Did you bypass the factory amp? Are you using aftermarket speakers? ect...
  8. http://newyork.craigslist.org/que/cto/1124635463.html What do you guys think?
  9. If its the return hose you need you can just get one at rockauto.com if its something that you can't get aftermarket I'd say give carson toyota, sewell lexus or irontoad.com a try.
  10. These borla are for sale... but it seems like these are the older versions... you can most likely find someone else that has the ones you're considering on that forum. http://www.clublexus.com/forums/2gen-gs430...t-for-sale.html
  11. Welcome to the club! Sounds like a high point on the disc or a warped disc. Jack it up and spin the wheels to find the prob. You'll feel and hear the high point or where the warped portion contacts the pads. If it's not too bad, machine them, otherwise replace. That usually solves the problem on our cars... for some reason GS rotors are prone to warping in my experience. I replaced mine with an aftermarket cryogenics treated rotor and I have not had anymore warping... however sometimes worn control arm bushings can cause other vibrations. p.s. I've been lucky so far with my rotors but I recommend OEM or brembo rotors if you need to replace.
  12. I used maguirs plasticx stuff... it works well and its one step...
  13. I've been using this stuff for some time now... probably about as useful as the nitrogen in my tires... which really isn't all that useful.. but it sounds fancy.
  14. Thanks for the help! I'll try to take a look at it this weekend.
  15. I asked the person who worked on the car last what gap he used just for my reference and he told me that new plugs didn't need to be gapped... I haven't looked into it further not have i checked to see if the plugs were pre-gapped... i believe the plugs for cylinders 2, 4 and 6 are the ones that are fairly easy to reach so I may pull them out and take a look... I'm just wondering why is it only on that bank and what is causing the lean conditions...
  16. I'm trying to help a friend of mine, she has a 1998 Camry and recently had the sparkplugs changed because she was getting a CEL for misfiring. She's still getting a CEL but this time its PO300, PO302, PO304, PO306 and PO171. I suspect a vacuum leak somewhere but I haven't been able to hear any noticable ones. I also don't know if the correct plugs were used but I would think that it would misfire on the other bank as well if the plugs were the problem... any suggestions or feedback would be appreciated. The car has 77k miles. Thanks in advance.
  17. Edmunds values it at about 4600 for a private seller, 6100 dealer retail and 3700 trade in value. I find edmunds more accurate especially when it comes to today's market conditions. I'd say $5k firm is a fair selling price and an excellent buy for anyone looking for a first gen.
  18. I have 19's with 35/30 profile tires... very thin rubber on new york roads... however the ride quality isn't too different... not better... but not horrible either... and I live in NYC....
  19. http://www.clublexus.com/forums/gs-second-...ftw-or-ftl.html I see you've asked around thoroughly.... i'd see if jeff wouldn't mind selling that engine he mentioned.
  20. I prefer the TTE lip also... even though it seems like everyone has one except for me... its alright though.. i'm not jealous... I'm just too poor to get my own. :(
