  1. I love my car. I know its big but its only like 6 inches longer than a camry. Few cars offer confidence on the road like an LS. Give it some time. If its still too big, go get an es300. They are still very nice to drive. If i had the money I'd buy an is350. Yea they are small... but they're awesome.
  2. where's the sunroof headliner tutorial?? i searched everywhere. my roof leaks... help.
  3. dang dude... your familys rough on their cars. Good luck with the 93.
  4. FIX IT! abused ls400's are one of the saddest sights. It doesn't sound like there is that much wrong with it. No to sound oppurtusitic or anything but if they want to junk it... i'll buy it.
  5. hey john, can you show me some pics? I would love to get some HID's but im scared. Did you get cheapy ebay's or oem? I'm afraid of blinding others too.
  6. Even AMG cars are limited. I'm pretty sure. Top Gear would always talk about it. Even the CL65 with its 600+hp was limited.
  7. I'm pretty sure mark lev was available without navi pre 04. I remeber seeing one on ebay and thinking how that must've been special order. You won't find many but they are out there.
  8. when you post there is gonna be a icon of a tree write next to the envelope. You have to have the picure online, on something like photobucket and have the URL.
  9. I remember driving an 03 towncar as a rental. I liked it alot. Driving big cars is very comforting . Even though TC's are huge beyond belief they are very easy to drive. The 03+ handle pretty decently too compared to older models. One qualm i have with the TC is that its only has 239 hp. It should have at least 300 like the cheaper mustang gt. Another thing i wish TC's had a tachometer. I think the new ones have them now. I'm sure that towncar will be just as reliable as your ES. Those things are tanks.
  10. I'm in the ATL area. Did you buy the car? 3500 is a great almost too good to be true price
  11. I'm not really sure but good luck man! Sounds like a misfire though, so it could be anything from a bad spark plug or wire, to a distributor, to a rotor, to a coolant tempature sensor. Did it ever act up before? Like barely misfire, get poor gas mileage, etc? One weird thing though, ls400's are pretty simple beasts. Most mechanics are fine working on it. Oh well, I'm sure your ls will be back on the road in no time! :)
  12. maybe one of the bulbs is out your your "flasher" went bad. Sorry i can't be of more help. I've never dealt with that prob.\ My car's belts squeak when its cold too. I don't think its a cause for concern.
  13. well i live in GA but on cold mornings 25 F my cars belts are a little noisy and i hear a bit of "piston slap"(i think thats what its called) but as soon as the car is warm... everything is quiet and perfect.
  14. well man, since you've been around cars all your life i suggest you start fixing stuff yourself. Thankfully your ES is just a dressed up camry, so parts should be cheap and available everywhere. I'm 19(barely) and I work on all my(dad's) cars. I do all the maintainence on our cars and i have to say its very rewarding. It's even more rewarding when you realize how much money you just saved. Unless somthing is out of my league i fix it. Hopefully the probs with your lex are simple. good luck man!
  15. congrats on an awesome lookin purchase. That car is new. LS430's just might be the most trouble free car's in the world but if you plan on keeping it a while I would get an extended bumper to bumper warrenty if possible. Powertrains are bullet proof but who knows when some sensor or electronic piece will go crazy. Welcome to the forum man!
  16. I just checked edmunds and you should get about 3100 in trade from anyone. I did put "OUTSTANDING" condition. About 600 less if its just clean. I'm going by edmunds TMV not KBB. Tell us what they say! go to edmunds.com to check it out yourself. They are a great resource. http://www.edmunds.com/used/1994/lexus/ls4...86/options.html i put a link so you can just enter the specs easy! hope this helps :D
  17. Hi, Strange has it may be I have just bought a LS 400, exact same colour as yours and with the exact problems as you have regarding the seat memory function. The main courtesy light also doesn't work can you advise me if you have fixed the problem , and how. Thanks Fergus the dog (UK) well with the memory seats i just pushed the buttons like 100 times repeatedly becuase the contacts must have corroded so pushing the buttons fixed it. Try it. But make sure you have a memory seat position recorded. Also my dome light looked ok but really wasnt. I replaced it and now it lights up! Yay! hope this helps.
  18. well if the bulbs are good and the fuse is good then i can only guess the door switches have a loose connection. Take them out. Spray them with wd40 and you should be in business. Hope this helps.
  19. I understand temporary fixes but fuses cost nothing and really protect a cars electronics. Sad to see people neglect their cars. You know there are a couple extra fuses on the fuse cover in the engine compartment right? Maybe they were used up. I'm glad you found the problem!!
  20. I have to agree I usually HATE modified cars but that LS is perfect. It has a classy AMG-like bodykit. I'd only get rid of the lip spoiler. I think they should supercharge lexus's. I love that whine. Sounds like a plane. OH that whine.
  21. looks good man. I personally like the stock look though. Nice ES though. What is your interior color called? I have the same color. It's like a purplish brown but what the official name?
  22. Ok so the other day i noticed a headlight blew on the 94 jade. I'd been contemplating silverstars for a while now. I decided to take advantage of the situation and have a comparo for you guys. The 94 already had some sylvania xtravision bulbs which are great btw. My 93 (white) has always seemed dim so i decided to do a side by side comparo with xtravision vs silverstar vs oem. Xtravisions are almost as good as silverstars but oems suck. if the silverstars last i would recommend them but xtravisions are almost as good and much cheaper. I wonder how GE night hawks hold up?? I think i'll buy a pair and do a fairer comparo between silverstars and nighthawks. I've gotta replace those awful oems. Hope this helps anyone who has been thinking about new bulbs.
