  1. never heard if the valentine but im sure its good since your saying it.i have a cobra.seems to work good for me but havent used it latley.
  2. lol i allways thought tri-state area was newjersey,pennsylvaina,delaware..i guess everyone has there own tri-state.anyway i might be able to make a trip there but its a bit far from philly. :(
  3. i dont know why they would say it dont matter because the wrong fcc# will not work.you need the same fcc# as the one you have now or had.i know in my year theres 2 different fcc#s and the wrong one wont work so make sure to get the same fcc as yours.
  4. did you switch gas stations? if not then maybe the new alternator is putting out more power then your old one and might be a help in performance but i never heard of that happing from a new alternator before so i cant say. either way thats good news not bad! ;)
  5. welcome to the club! i see no reason why you cant use the toyota dealer instead of the lexus dealer.i and many others here would or have used toyota dealers instead of lexus. as long as you dont go over 3,000 miles i dont see why you would need to change the oil.if you only put 600 miles a month on your car then get it changed at 5 months instead of 3. as for tires its all up to the owner.some say good year is good and some say they stink.i have low profile tires so and use ultra high performance yokohama.but for you it depends on weather and other factors to see whats best for you.if you live in n carilina then i dont think you get any snow like philly so you might be better off with a summer tire then all season but if you do get any ice then get a all season tire. hope this helps somewhat! :D
  6. i agree with steve go with you gut.i personally would but the one from your local dealer because just incase anything happens you can acually talk to people in person. if you buy from ebay you wont be able to do that!sometimes its better to spend the extra and it pays off and sometimes it dont.the choice is yours but either way good luck!
  7. i would wait until you hit 1000 miles before bringing it for service this way the car has been driven enough to see how its doing. as for breaking it in just drive it the way you like but on the highway dont stay at the same speed for a long time.just go 5mph up and then back down every so often. dont use cruise control of course because that will keep it the same speed.other then that just get the oil changed every 3,000 miles and you should be fine. :D
  8. i think it can do it no problem but would you want to risk messing your car up?i wouldnt do it with mine but thats me.good luck if it works out for you! :D
  9. i matched mine up at pepboys before i totally redid my cluster with neon white but you can find a alternative bulb that will work in the cluster at pepboys.i think it was 70 something the number but i cant remember for sure,.check there though because they do have ones that will fit.
  10. i have a sunroof wind deflector on my 95 and think it looks good also.i see lots of es 300s with wind deflectors so if you like it go for it! :D
  11. also try a search for lexus parts in yahoo and sometimes you get lucky! :D
  12. first off welcome to the club! i think gbhrps did a pretty good job helping with some of your issues but as for the needles in your dash flickering if you do a search you will find tons of info on why they do it and how to fix them.its basically going bad. as for the moonroof try to put some tire dressing on the seals and see if that stops the wind noise.it is wind noise right?if that dont help then you might need to have the roof realighned.lexus dealer can do that for you but first check the seals. i had the same problem with my antenna not going all the way down and it was because of the cold weather.try lubbing it up with some grease and that should work. hope this helps! :D
  13. i know they are soooo cheap now its crazy!im suprized you dont have one yet. :D
  14. the battery is only used for starting the car and other things like sk mentioned! the alternator is the main power for when the car is running. sorry amf1932 but maybe you got confused in your post and had it backwards.or maybe some mechanic gave you false info about the alternator.im 100 percent sure the alternator is the power source for when the car is on so i must agree with sk. :D
  15. personally why dont you just wait until you the 2005 comes out so you can get the spec and make sure you get the right wheels.just my opinoin.if you have to buy them now ebay is a ok choice to start but just make sure the seller has ALOT of feedback and then you wont worry about getting scammed.hope this helps :D
  16. try to find a set of 16inch 95 rims or so and they should look more fuller like you want.if not go with a set of aftermarket rims 17 inch.more money though :(
  17. i agree its not worth putting your self in danger on the highway with bad rims.if they cant seal the tire then they are no good to drive on.the bead seal like steviej said might help but you will still need new rims if its that bad.
  18. im going with yes.as long as the offset is the same and the lug nuts pattern is the same it will work.check and find the spec for your year and the 99 and then you will see for sure.theres a few sites to find specs like that for wheels so try a search in yahoo or goggle.i know the 95 es 300 rims will work with 98 99 so im betting its the same for your car.
  19. did you try disconnecting the cd changer and then see if you get the radio on again?im thinking maybe when you toke the changer apart you might of shorted something in there and sent it to the radio.disconnect the changer and see what happens. if still no radio like fm stations etc..then check all them fuses again real good because even if they dont look burnt sometimes they are!belive me it drove me nuts one day looking for a short and finally decied to change all the fuses and it worked!frist check the changer. :D
  20. your best bet is to just run the power lines remote etc..to the trunk and then get a good set of line level convertors to plug into the new amp and then you can power you new sub.if you dont know what line level convertors are let me know and i will explain. ;)
  21. thats a hard question to answer because i can see the engine to look for leaks.if they didnt wash the motor off like they should have after replacing the gaskets then there still can be oil left on the motor to burn off.i would have the motor cleaned and then check it for leaks.
  22. the 2 inch drop im not sure about but the strut bar you can buy off ebay like i did for like 20 bucks or so.just do a search for strut bar on ebay and you will find them.they are all bacially the same so to say one is better then another is hard to do.as long as its not made of plastic!lol :D
  23. check your pm and mailed you back.anyway incase you didnt see it i would stay on the lexus dealer until they do something.some cold start noise is expected and normal but alot of noise is not.
  24. try a search for spark plugs and you should find tons of info on it and tips.the rear are a bit hard but with a good swivel ratchet the job is much easier.
  25. just low beams!you can buy them for high beams but it is not nessisary at all.just get the kit for the low beams and it will be fine.good luck and of course show pics when its done. :D
