  1. Maybe need a beater car to drive in Beverly Hills.
  2. IS350 cabin filter = $24 http://www.irontoad.com/Merchant2/merchant...;Store_Code=LSC Instructions are in the owners manual. Takes maybe 2 minutes to change it.

  4. Yeah, it will skip a beat once in a long while, but not very often. Most motors will do that. I don't think it's anything to be concerned about.
  5. Here's a link to the pdf on how to remove the rear tail lights. http://www.clublexus.com/forums/attachment...mp;d=1123610364 Here's how to get to the bulbs. Open your trunk There are two circular clips thant you need to take out so that you can access the screws. Once you get those off. Slightly lift up and it will start comming out. DO NOT PULL DOWNWARD Pull it a little up and to the left for the left housing, or right housing. It should all come off. There will be a big circle that you have to turn. and then you will get access to the light bulb.
  6. That's very nice and a good deal too. Wish they'd had that package when I got mine.
  7. Changing oil isn't rocket surgery. Besides, Bills Quick Lube is privately owned, Bill is a personal friend of mine, and I don't think they've screwed up a drain plug or whatever in the 20 years they've been in business. Like I said, I take my own Toyota/Lexus filter, they change the oil and check the fluids and tires while I watch and I'm on my way. I haven't take a car back to the dealership for serivce in over 15 years. All the other checks that are on the list, I do myself. If I have a problem that's for warranty, I'll take it to the dealer. I believe if you browse the threads here you'll find as many dealership, yahoo screwed up "tech" stories as you will "Jiffy Lube" stories.
  8. $175 + tax for an oil change? :o :o :o :o :o :o Synthetic or not.... WTF?!?!?! That's insane. Mobil 1 is only $6- a quart Mobil 1 SuperSyn is only $6.50 Are their filters gold plated? You can do it yourself for well under $60- Keep receipts for filters and oil, warranty will be honored. I think I paid around $100 for my oil change, but I could be wrong. I'd have to go back and check. So will a lube-n-tune know how to turn off the annoying indicator that your oil needs to be changed if it's on??? I pay about $32 at Bill's Quick Lube and bring my own filter. You can turn off the service reminder yourself. http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...ost&id=3751
  9. Who should i e-mail though? The other 2 e-mails i sent were to my dealer. I got a response back from them after my second e-mail telling me they were directing my e-mail to some manager somewhere? The last thing i want to do, is accidently send an e-mail to the guy i talked to today :( Thanks for your help everyone!
  10. Some do, some don't. I have my regular mechanic do the inspections and fluid changes. You can buy the cabin filter cheaper online and change it yourself. Same goes for lots of maintenance items. Just keep receipts for what you get done. If the dealer didn't change the cabin filter, and didn't charge for it, you're probably lucky. He'd have charged big bucks for that. Where do you get the cabin air filter? Only filters I see are for the IS300... My 10,000 is due... and I dont want to pay $100+ for the cabin filter.... http://www.irontoad.com/Merchant2/merchant...;Store_Code=LSC

  12. Send another email and ask the woman to call you again and find out who she is, tell her your story.
  13. The stock IS audio systems are pretty good. However they aren't ricer boomers like some folks want.
  14. Someday soon your ship will come in. :D
  15. The salesman probably said that because the power button will have the transmission downshifting sooner and more often, thus varying the engine RPM more, which is part of the break-in procedure (varying engine speed) . As for mileage, it might make 1 MPG difference if you do a lot of town driving. On the highway it should not make much difference at all.
  16. clearance for what? If you look at this months Modified magizine with Jeff Wilson's IS 300 in it his little light is on! Bulb, Clearance Lamp, PART # 00234-00192 Otherwise known as parking lights. http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...ost&id=4038

  18. There are people who specialize in bumper repairs. Some of them will actually come to your house and fix it. It will probably be good as new for 2 or 3 years and most people would never notice.
  19. He's been dead for years.
  20. If the transmision type is important, then the choice is made for you.
  21. I dont know about your car, but the IS has a provision to calibrate for two different sets of tires and wheels. You just switch from tire1 to tire2 when you change wheels.
  22. Not sure about the knocky noise, but the clicky noise is normal. Its the high pressure fuel pump for the direct injectors.
  23. They may not be where you want them, but the vents are there. I run my A/C on bilevel most of the time anyhow.
