  1. Not sure what you are describing unless it's for those little airfoil flaps that stick down near the wheels. You should go back to the body shop and see what they say about it. Pics of what you are talking about would help.
  2. just some of the sportmaxx? or all of them? does that mean if the car came with sportmaxx then we can get free replacements when they wear out? my friend's 06 that he bought a few weeks after me came with Bridgestone RE050s, maybe thats why Lexus have been changing tires. Not all the Sportmaxx. It was during a certain time period. Dealers probably have a range of tire serial numbers involved.
  3. Some pics here. http://my.is/forums/showthread.php?t=27696...age=1&pp=40
  4. If you don't want more cabin noise you probably won't like it.
  5. Chaning all 4 seems to be the way to go. Back in the day we just used two for the rear, but you can still get into trouble when the steering tires lose grip.
  6. There is a defect in some of the OEM Dunlops. The belts shift off center and the conicity causes the car to pull to one side. Lexus have been replacing these tires.
  7. As a newb, you cannot us the PM service yet. What is it that you have? If you are advertising something you can't run an ad yet either. Your post makes me somewhat suspicious that you might be trying to circumvent the rules. Post some info and then we'll decide. Thanks.
  8. Well I dunno unless it's a little vacuum leak or something like that. There are two small hoses that go into the air box. One from the valve cover and one to the vapor canister. Might make sure those are clear and properly attached. I guess my approach would be to fiddle with one thing, go drive. Fiddle with another, go drive. And repeat till I either found it or got really frustrated. Not related but I spent a couple of weekends chasing down a noise in the suspension. I even took it to Lexus and they said they tightened everything, but it didn't help. Well, I finally jacked up the one side, took off the wheel, and used my floor jack to cycle the right front suspension through its travel until I heard the noise. Being close to the source, I was able to pinpoint the location. The two sway bar bracket mounting bolts were loose on that side. Fixed that problem, but it just took trying and retrying and eliminating stuff.
  9. Will it make the noise if the car is sitting in park and you rev the engine? If so, open the hood and try to listen for it while someone else revs it up. Hope it's not, but it almost sounds like it could be the water pump. Or maybe it's just something that's caught in your intake snorkel.
  10. Might be the bulb is loose or the connection. I took my console apart once looking for a rattle and it wasn't fun. Well, getting it back together right was the hard part for me. You still have an indicator on the dash. I kinda always went by that.
  11. I agree. It's probably the cheapest and easiest way to find out if you like the yellow fogs. They look ok from the pics I've seen. Of course the ultimate yellow fogs would be 2600-3000K HID kit, but that's going to be some work.
  12. You can look it up Edmunds http://www.edmunds.com/used/index.html?mkt...;mktid=ga262108 Kelley Blue Book http://www.kbb.com/ Whether or not someone would pay extra for the aftermarket accessories would be up to the individual.
  13. It's not good to use higher wattage bulbs. It can overheat the wiring.
  14. You seemed to doubt that the bulbs were D4. The link confirms that they are. There are some claimed D4 bulbs on Ebay if you want to take the time to search.

  17. Do a google search for "Eibach pro-kit" Or just go to www.eibach.com
  18. No they are not compatable. D2 is the old style xenon as was on the IS300. D4S is the bi-xenon for 2nd generation IS. Bi-xenon has a mechanical device that allows it to go from "low beam" to "high beam".
  19. They're using it on some newer engines to tweak out a little better fleet average gas mileage. Same for Honda and Ford. While it probably wouldn't hurt to run till the next oil change, I'd rather stick with what's recommended just in case. Better to be on the safe side.
  20. thanks... bartkat, you check this forum every hour huh? Exactly the answer i needed. Do you think xenondepot.com is fairly the best palce to get HID's? I just happened to pop in just now. Guys that have done aftermarket HID on the 2nd gen IS seem to be happy with the Xenodepot kits. The main thing is finding a place to put the igniters, but it's not all that hard, I hear. I haven't done mine yet. There are some posts about HID install here. http://my.is/forums/showthread.php?t=27248...ght=HID+install http://www.clublexus.com/forums/showthread.php?t=192254 http://my.is/forums/showthread.php?t=272488 I think it's better to buy from someone like Xenondeopt rather than Ebay because they are prety good to help if you have problems or need to return or exchange something.
  21. I wonder how this problem is getting through and across model lines. It seems like something they would want to catch and correct pretty quickly. Personally I'd never heard of it till it was mentioned here, but it's for sure a real problem.
  22. I think it's basically the same as Eibach Pro-Kit springs. They're progressive, a little stiffer and lower the car about half an inch.
  23. Factory HID are 4000 - 4300 K. Over time, they will degrade somewhat to around 4900 - 5000. 4300K is pretty white with a little blue seen at an angle and also gives the most lumens of any color temp. I don't think you'll see any yellow with 4300K. 6000K is pretty blue, and produces fewer lumens, less visible light.
