  1. If you can't find a good used one: http://www.trademotion.com/partlocator/ind...playCatalogid=0 Added: maybe this guy can help: http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...showtopic=58991
  2. It sure sounds like it. The 4410 pressure feed hose. Gotta open the hood to verify. http://www.toyodiy.com/parts/p_U_1991_LEXU...EPGKA_4503.html
  3. Maybe... http://phoenix.craigslist.org/evl/pts/1312966071.html eBay: http://shop.ebay.com/?_from=R40&_trksi...-All-Categories Ask them to verify continuity on all 5 pins before you buy.
  4. eBay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/LS400-MIRRO...sQ5fAccessories
  5. I can't really tell in this diagram but.... http://www.toyodiy.com/parts/p_U_1991_LEXU...EPGKA_8401.html you don't say what year your car is. I suggest you update the car model in your profile. Have you read through this? http://www.lextreme.com/dx-starter.html
  6. Did you try starting it in neutral? http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...showtopic=44980 Added: welcome to the forum! Sorry to hear that you went through the trouble and expense to replace the starter only to find that it's not the problem.
  7. For the starter, here's a few threads I participated in: http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...=0&p=342551 and http://www.clublexus.com/forums/ls400/3248...n-progress.html You should read this to be sure: http://www.lextreme.com/dx-starter.html, but with the clicks, it's the starter IMO. Boy, are you in for some fun Sorry, can't help you with the headlights. Did you try searching?
  8. Thanks. I'll keep that in mind in case no one offers a used set. I appreciate the information, especially the part numbers. I went to sewellpartsonline.com, they're $27.91USD now. The part number is also slightly different, ends with 170 instead of 270. Hmmm, they list a 42603-50240 center cap for $12.68 ea. I wonder what that is. May have to call them. Thanks again.
  9. Living in the desert where it's hot (see avitar), I've always used 10w30. Just did my oil change and used Mobil 1 Extended Life 10w30. Previous owner used Mobil 1 also. I have 151,000 miles.
  10. YES!! That's a great idea. You didn't happen to take any pics last night to help replace the ones missing from one of those threads?
  11. The previous owner put these wheels on my 95 LS400 but they came with crappy silver on black emblemed center caps, one of them has come off. I want to replace them with OEM logo center caps. Ignore the blank center caps in this pic, but this is what my wheels look like.
  12. Check out the two threads I linked here: http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...st&p=372435
  13. I'm fairly certain that I've read in other posts that the AVC is the only thing not included with a new PS pump. It's easy to verify though. Look at the pump, if you don't see the black valve with two posts for the vacuum tubing, then it will need to be transferred from the existing pump, or buy a replacement. Also, most mechanical parts can be bought at the parts store. Quality? Well, you'll get a ton of opinions both ways.
  14. If you can't move it, I guess the pick up tool I recommended in your CL post may not work. Under the manifold? You mean in the "valley" where the starter is? Here is a pic: http://www.clublexus.com/forums/3157913-post21.html If that's where it's at, then you should be safe driving until you can get it out.

  16. Like yours, mine was blue. I'd start with just the ACV. It's what is allowing fluid to be sucked into the intake manifold and burned out your tailpipe. Yes, once you replace the ACV, no more topping off. ADDED: Before you remove the ACV, be sure to cover the alternator. You don't want to get fluid into it and ruin it. Then after it's replaced, check back to make sure it's all dry down there to see that you don't have any other leaks.
  17. Yes, it's the valve. Did you see this thread: http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...?showtopic=6583 Sorry, I forgot where I bought mine for my '90. It might have been AutoZone. I do remember it was about $80 though. Here's a diagram of it: http://www.toyodiy.com/parts/p_U_1991_LEXU...4.html?hl=17630 Search for part number 1763016040 (updated part number) at Carson Toyota: http://www.trademotion.com/partlocator/ind...m?siteid=214915
  18. This tutorial shows how to remove it: http://www.lexls.com/tutorials/audio/headunit.html While it's for a gen 1, I imagine the location should be the same for the gen 2. CUMan suggests using putty knives in this thread: http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...showtopic=59070
  19. Spraying the whole thing with pblaster is prolly ok: http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...showtopic=29114 This thread talks about cleaning and adjusting the contacts: http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...?showtopic=6663 I've used the "eraser method" to clean electrical contacts that have oxidized and stop functioning. If the pblaster doesn't work try a small eraser to clean the contacts. Here's a used switch on eBay, only two days left....... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/90-91-92-93...sQ5fAccessories
  20. If you're getting water just at the one plug, then it's prolly coming up from that plug while driving. Remove the plug, clean then apply some O-ring Silicone lubricant/sealant and put the plug back in. As a trouble shooting measure, you can put a paper towel by the jack and jack handle. Put everything back together and check after the next heavy rain. If either of the paper towels are wet, you'll know from which side the water is coming from. If dry, it's the plug.
  21. The lexls.com tutorial should be all you need. Give the radio button sequence a try first. You may be able to remove the mast without having to remove the whole assembly. In the for what it's worth category, here is another thread showing how to remove the mast: http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...?showtopic=4209
  22. You probably found this thread then.... http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...showtopic=53524 It's nice when things can be repaired rather than having to buy another new or used one.
  23. @9779, there are quite a few threads talking about this subject. Back out of this thread and type "+radio +backlight" in the search box at the bottom to find them. My 95 has the same backlight problem. I just haven't taken it out to get it fixed yet.
  24. jgzhang, there is a bracket attached to the water bypass that needs to be loosened up and/or bent up: http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...st&p=374739 Well, on my gen2 '95 it had to be bent back. I'm not sure if it's the same on your gen 1.
