  1. I'm not a tire expert by any means, but if it's just been two weeks, I'd take it back and have them change the wheels. Mark the tires front-left, front-right etc so they don't move location, take them off the wheels and put back on the correct ones for each side. They messed up, they should correct it.
  2. oh no, not another "how many miles" thread. earlyx, have you see this thread?: http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...showtopic=18493
  3. You got it right. Snowbirds we are. We have a house in the Anthem Country Club-I17 to Flagstaff. It's a Great place. Very good eye too!!! How can you tell from the picture that my right front wheel in on the wrong side? Can you explain. Best Chris What!? You don't have a place in Mesa, not a true Snowbird then. As to your front wheel, if you compare the front and rear wheels on the right, the "spokes" or vent holes don't go the same way. I believe they're oriented such to help cool the brakes/rotors. Unfortunately the L and R stamped on the wheel is on the inner side of the wheel. You'd have to take it off to confirm but I'd bet you'll find an L stamped on it. Look at your spare tire and see if the wheel is stamped with an R. At some point along the way when getting new tires, the technician didn't realize the wheels are directional. I haven't read any threads here discussing tire rotation, but I believe this limits you to front/rear rotation only, not the X pattern. I'm not sure how big of a deal it is operationally but, to me, it's more of an aesthetic thing. How are they on the driver's side? If there both L's then the spare is most likely an R then you could have the tires swapped the next time you're due for a rotation. On my 90, one of the wheels was bent slightly but fortunately the spare wheel was for the same side. I'm not saying you have to do anything but just wanted to bring it to your attention. Congratulations, though, on having such a nice ride.
  4. Oh, you're a Snowbird, eh? You must have gotten out of here just in time, we had something like 14 consecutive 100+ degree days. Very nice car! Am I wrong, though, but is your right front wheel on the wrong side? Those wheels are directional.
  5. http://www.clublexus.com/forums/ls400-foru...freshen-up.html While it is good to remove the solenoid to clean the screen letting the fluid drain, it would be good to do a proper flush (with ATF) by removing the return hose at the reservoir having the fluid drain into a gallon milk bottle while pouring new ATF into the reservoir. The pictures are gone, but here is an excellent thread explaining the procedure: http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...?showtopic=6351
  6. You are correct. It's a..... Brake Traction Accumulator Assembly http://www.toyodiy.com/parts/p_U_1991_LEXU...GKA_4708.5.html
  7. cmshoot, if you haven't found toyodiy.com yet..... here you go: http://www.toyodiy.com/parts/p_U_199502_LE...EPGKA_5102.html It's too bad though, that screws are listed as just "STD. PART", but you do get a part number which will go a long way when contacting a dealer.
  8. Victor, I really hope you can do it the right way (remove starter), I cheated and left it in...... Link If you read past my posts, I believe someone said they got to the lower egr pipe by coming up from below.
  9. The center visor (above rear view mirror) on my 95 won't stay up. It looks like the assembly can be removed. Where are the tab points? Has anyone else had this and fixed it rather than replace? If so, how did you get it to stay up? I saw a post on the CL forum where someone suggested velcro, I guess that's a plan B option. Plan C would be to buy a new one: Center visor
  10. Unfortunately I can personally attest that radio LCDs go out. My 95's backlights doesn't work and have the "garbled" numbers/letters. I've fixed most of the issues my 95 had when I bought it, just not the radio yet. I've seen threads talking about 3 resistors needing to be re-soldered to fix the backlight problem. But I'll probably send it out since the LCD needs to be replaced regardless.
  11. good idea eubt.... you need to fix the third link, right now it's just a duplicate of the second. oops. http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...mp;CODE=explain
  12. Item 11... http://www.lexls.com/tutorials/steering/pspumpremoval.html
  13. It would be better adding to your other thread rather than starting a new one. Since you don't mention what advice was given or what you did, anything added here will probably be a duplication of the other thread. Other thread: http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...showtopic=57038
  14. If you don't mind sending it to NY..... http://www.clublexus.com/forums/ls400-foru...tml#post4452854
  15. It's inside the left hinge. Pull the black plastic trim down and away from the hinge starting closest to the back seat. Then read the tutorial linked above.
  16. If all you hear is a click then after a few times it fires up, the contacts in the solenoid have worn out enough to prevent current to pass through them to engage the starter. That's what my 95 started doing in December. There are many good threads here and on CL describing the process. Good Luck and you're correct, it is a major pain. http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...st&p=350214 http://www.clublexus.com/forums/ls400-foru...tml#post4191291
  17. Welcome to the forum leland. It's under the intake manifold and a major pain. But before you go down that road, let us know what your car is or isn't doing, I assume it's not starting for some reason, correct? 3.7-3.9 maybe for someone who's done it a thousand times, multiply it by ten. I just replaced the contacts on my 95 (without even removing it!!!, shhhh) .... http://www.clublexus.com/forums/ls400-foru...n-progress.html http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...&hl=starter Good luck and let us know how it goes.
  18. Huh? But I did hear the procrastinator's meeting was 10 minutes ago.
  19. No problem, vroom8, glad to help. One more suggestion.... to make your replies easier to read when quoting someone, type this at the beginning of the quote: "[ quote ]", then at the end of the quote type "[ /quote ]" (remove the spaces after and in front of the brackets and don't type the litteral quotes - I added them for illustration purposes only). You end up with something like this:
  20. If you're just doing 1 and 2, it's a lot more work before you can even think about 3. Like removing the manifold. But if you decide to go that far, read my posts (starting with #35) in this thread HERE.
  21. Not really, but I imagine it would hasten carbon buildup inside the manifold. Rather than replacing it, you can remove it and plug it up with a bolt. You can find several threads here on how to do that.
  22. Through the Idle Air Control Valve into the intake manifold and out your tailpipe as blacktop suggests. From what I've read PS pumps don't come with the IACV. So more than likely yours was taken off the old pump and put on the new. That's why your problem persists. I don't know if the IACV can be cleaned or if it has to be replaced. I replaced it on my 90 to get rid of the smoke on startup.
