  1. This thread may not help you exactly but does have a couple diagram PDFs attached. http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...showtopic=44853 I found it doing a sunroof+close Search. I wonder if the plastic piece could be fabricated by a machine shop in your area.
  2. Use the Search, Luke. http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...showtopic=12304
  3. Buy the IACV and have someone put it in for you. You'll need one anyway if you buy a new pump. Start with the IACV, if that helps, you're done. If not, then go to plan B and replace the pump. http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...?showtopic=6583
  4. Jerry, you do realize that Chheng's post is over a year old? With two posts, I'm sure s/he is long gone. However, I'm sure sharing your experience and other information will still be helpful to others. This may not be the best thread to post your fix as it doesn't relate to the thread topic.
  5. Just giving options. Yes, I forgot about that. Mighty Lifts can do that on 90-94. I did notice that when I put them on my 90. Mighty Lift's don't seem to affect my 95.
  6. 90LS400Lexus, You want to have that leak looked at right away. If it's leaking from the pump, it may be leaking on your alternator (as it can do), you'll also be doing an alternator job. One thing to consider is a alternator shield: http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...?showtopic=5407 Here are the direct links to the pics mentioned in that thread: http://us.lexusownersclub.com/gallery/LS/Alt1 http://us.lexusownersclub.com/gallery/LS/Alt2
  7. Not necessarily.... True, but made easier with this tutorial:http://web.archive.org/web/20070814133557/...hood_shocks.htm I used that tutorial to replace the original hood struts on my 90.
  8. headpro, welcome to the forum, you found a great site for diy'ers. Back out of this thread and type this in the Search field at the bottom: "+phone +remove +console" (without the quotes). You'll find several good threads discussing how to remove the phone.
  9. @DuaneG, your issues sounds very similar to topgun129's: http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...showtopic=58963
  10. Good job. For the EGR pipe, check this out: http://www.clublexus.com/forums/ls400/4443...r-pipe-diy.html For parts: http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...showtopic=59810
  11. I figured you already read a bunch. I'm not sure if it's in either thread I linked, but I read where someone came up from underneath the car with some extensions. I believe they had to loosen the cats or something to make room. Good luck man!
  12. I agree with curiousB wholeheartedly, make sure you exhaust all other testing. But if you need one, this place may still have it on the car they have: http://phoenix.craigslist.org/evl/pts/1343940177.html Not sure if the ECM is the same on a 91 or 92 as is your 94 though, check it out first.
  13. Say who??????? I'm not sure how you copied the link Marklouis, but it's not working. This one should: http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...mp;#entry372435
  14. I feel your pain!!! I went through the same thing in December. Reading through this thread should help, I'll start you off at my posting: http://www.clublexus.com/forums/ls400/3248...tml#post4191291 This thread mentions the "special" tool you might be looking for: http://www.clublexus.com/forums/ls400/1947...ory-by-bdr.html Too bad we don't have 98s, we wouldn't have to bother with the EGR pipes then.
  15. I'm not sure I get your point. What was the short term solution? Must be the humidity, not heat. :whistles:
  16. If you haven't found toyodiy.com yet, it's a great site. It looks like that part is called the Intake Air Connector Pipe, PN 17875. At least the whole assembly is. You probably can't get just the part sticking out of the pipe where the two hoses connect to, you'll most likely have to buy the whole assembly. http://www.toyodiy.com/parts/p_U_1991_LEXU...EPGKA_1703.html
  17. I don't think it will hurt anything driving it like that. I'm not an expert so don't take my word for it, but I drove my 90 like that for quite a while with no appearant side effects. Valve Cover Tutorial: http://www.lexls.com/tutorials/engine/valvecover.html Valve Adjustment: http://lextreme.com/valve_clearance.html
  18. 8.7 quarts http://www.lexls.com/tutorials/transmission/transflush.html
  19. No, your valves need adjusting. My 90 did the same thing, knocking under slight acceleration. After reading through threads here, I came up with the determination that it's the valves.
  20. Ask around for a shop that is reputable, and ask that they allow you to be there when they do the leak test so you can see for yourself. The auto parts store may have a leak detection kit you can buy and do the diagnosing yourself. http://www.auto-facts.org/autoairconditioning.html
  21. Warranty? At any point during all of this, did anyone put dye into the system to see if there were any leaks? It's obvious there is a slow leak somewhere that hasn't been diagnosed yet. Either a very small hole in a tube/pipe or bad o-ring/seal but hopefully not in the evaporator. My 90 had a hole in a pipe located under the foam insulation making it hard to find. Get dye into the system and UV light to see where it's coming out.
  22. Well, the thread below is for the front door but may give you an idea of what's involved. http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...showtopic=42914
  23. Did you do a "hitch" search here? A few threads show up. While titled for a 430, a hitch for a 400 is discussed: http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...?showtopic=9224
  24. Great suggestion HRP. The hose is prolly a gonner in this car, but for future parts needs: http://www.clublexus.com/forums/ls460-430-...g-91-ls400.html
