  1. I have a 1990 Lexus LS400 and my car key doesn't open the door on the driver side. It works just fine on the passenger side of the car. The key works just fine in the ignition. What could be the problem and how do I get it fixed?
  2. I bought some cheap gas Saturday afternoon and within 5 minutes my car was hesitating and eventually stopped on me. I called AAA and the driver mentioned how there are some crooked station owners who may water down their gas. My car was running just fine the night before and even before I headed to the station. I only put in just under 3 gallons and would like to siphon it out. I called one mechanic and he mentioned something about car manufacturers installing roll over valves to prevent siphoning. Is there a drain valve on the tank or is there a way to siphon it out? Your feedback is greatly appreciated.
  3. I'm hoping someone out there has experienced this or can direct me on how to correct this: one day while I was leaning the front driver seat back, the seat back became twisted as I tried to raise it back up and now it won't straighten back up as before. I've tried raising it back up and letting it back down to correct it but it doesn't seem to work. I mean the seat back is twisted on the left side on the seat back and literally won't straighten up....is there a fix for this problem or am I going to need to replace the seat entirely? The motor seems to be working because the seat back still moves up and down but at a twist. I can still move the seat forward and backward for leg room. Any feedback is appreciated as I am driving very uncomfortably right now. Thanks!
  4. Well, I tried it. Bought the PB Blaster; disassembled the unit. Sprayed the electrical contacts and reassembled. Unfortunately, the driver side window still does not work. What next, new Master Window Switch?
  5. The window switch for the front driver side does not work anymore. All the other switches on the master switch work just fine and all windows roll up and down without a problem. I read another thread where it mentioned something about spraying PB Plaster? on the screws or contacts - something to that effect. I'd like to know if anyone has tried this and whether or not it solved the problem. That's a pretty expensive part and if I can avoid fattening up someone's pocket, that would make my day.
  6. thanks. I also kept surfing the web and found a website: lexls.com that specifically had a tutorial about replacing the antenna mast for an LS400.
  7. Thanks, I had hoped there was some info. here somewhere. Can you help me locate the thread. I like this forum but finding topics can be a little tricky sometimes.
  8. I tried the silicone spray. It cleans off a lot of the gunk but the antenna still won't retract. I can hear the motor making noise like it's trying to make it retract but it seems to be stuck. Any other suggestions?
  9. thanks for the info. I can certainly try the silicone spray. Can you direct me to the thread for repairing antennas for a 90 lexus ls400. it's rather cumbersome looking through the maze of information here on this forum.
  10. I have a 90 Lexus LS400 and my antenna makes a lot of noise whenever I remove the key from the ignition. Also, the antenna doesn't retracting anymore. It stays fully extended. The radio and CD player work just fine. Any ideas what the problem might be?
