  1. I believe THIS DIAGRAM confirms that the motor you're looking at (item 4) is just for the shoulder height adjustment. That should make the power connector you're looking for down by the seat belt spool.
  2. OK, I'm with you now. I think that motor being referred to is just for the shoulder height adjustment and has nothing to do with tension but I could be wrong. I think you're right about pulling hard, I was remembering from another car. I'm not near my 95 now (wife drives it) but will try tonight. In my earlier post I pointed to a thread that had instructions on how to retension the seatbelt, here is the direct link to that post: http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...ost&p=23606 Hopfully somone how has done the motor disconnect fix will come by but I have a feeling short of the retensioning described, you're gonna have to get new seatbelts. For peace of mind, I did.
  3. sebastor, what is that a picture of? I don't see a seatbelt so I'm not sure what you're showing us. Take a look at the second picture in my post that shows the entire pillar, is your picture showing what's behind the white plastic cover in mine? You don't list the year of your car but from your previous posts, I think you have a 90, correct. My pics are from a 95 so there will be some differences. If your seatbelts don't fit snugly up against you then they're not safe. Do they at least stop if you pull on them hard? Even if they do, I think you need to get your seatbelts replaced. For a 90, no way is Lexus going to do it for free.
  4. Hmmm. You may not be able to until you've posted a few more times.Try this, click on the Add Reply button below this thread. Below the box where you enter your reply, do you see an Attachments section? If no, then you'll need to post more before you do. Forum rules I guess.
  5. Welcome to the forum. To attach a photo, click on the Full Edit link, below the text box you should see an Attachments section. Browse to your file and click UPLOAD. Once you do I'll compare with mine. ADDED: This thread shows a pic of a TB: http://www.clublexus.com/forums/ls400/3771...hange-pics.html Here is a diagram showing the vacuum hoses connecting to the TB: http://www.toyodiy.com/parts/p_U_199502_LE...EPGKA_2211.html Since you did all that work, you may want to disconnect the negative lead to the battery for 10 mins to reset the ECU and see if it comes back to determine if you have a real issue or not.
  6. Is it advisable? I think so, it's pretty easy, at least to get the panel off. These should help: http://www.lexls.com/tutorials/body/fdoorpanel.html http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...ost&id=1766 http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...ost&id=1765 I believe there is a salvage yard (or two) in the metro Phoenix area. If you can find one with the parts you need, you can practice on it first.
  7. You'll feel right at home in Tucson then, the lower humidity should make up for the higher temps. Correct, Tucson is about 5 degrees cooler than the metro Phoenix area.Yeah, I think my avatar is pretty cool. I don't remember how hot it was the day I took the pic, near 115 I believe. The car was sitting in the driveway in full sun when I took the it. So radiant heat from the concrete helped drive up the temp.
  8. 430, I didn't catch that. Hmmm, which one? A 2004 LS430 by chance? That makes more sense. I bet the fingers were in autopilot.
  9. You have more than one antenna? I'd like to see pics. B) What you're experiencing is normal. I don't know the exact reasons why but mine does it too. Google "antenna length" if you really want to know. For the backlight issue, since it's just a couple buttons, it's more difficult. Try doing a search to find threads talking about this, I know they're here somewhere.
  10. Welcome to the forum NOSZ06. Only 64K, wow! You'll want to vist lexls.com often, here are 3 transmission tuts that should answer your questions: http://www.lexls.com/tutorials/transmission/
  11. Hopefully it's not a blocked heater core. Another thing to check is the valve that allows water into the heater core. There's a cable that moves the valve and it possibly has come off. The valve is up high back on the firewall. You should see it with no trouble. If the cable is off, the valve isn't opening so no hot water into the core. Here is what it looks like: http://www.clublexus.com/forums/ls400/6496...what-is-it.html However, if it is because of air in the system, instructions for "burping" or purging the air from the coolant system should be printed on a label on top of the reservoir. Or follow the instructions here: http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...st&p=354605
  12. An old toothbrush. I cut the top off of a gallon milk jug and let the fluid drain into it. After letting is settle for a bit, I would dip the toothbrush into the fluid then brush the screen then blowing it off with compressed air when done. I'm not sure what damage a torn screen would allow but I don't think it would go as far as not "assisting the rack properly". What ever crud or metal shavings it blocks would pass through into the rack.
  13. Super! BTW, your glasses are up on your forehead. Just in case you were wondering. :o
  14. See if this helps: http://www.clublexus.com/forums/288233-post2.html
  15. Here's one: http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...?showtopic=6583 As for searching, this thread should help: http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...showtopic=57361
  16. It's most likely the valve. If your PS fluid level is going down, that confirms it. The smoke can also be bluish in color.
  17. I couldn't have said it better. If you do drive it, make sure it's straight to the "reputable garage". So, how much did you pay?
  18. They don't say "Made in China", do they?
  19. That's exactly what I thought. What symptoms do you have, dead battery? Per item 3, you say they test good. Then it's something else. Per item 5, what about the cable going to the battery or the ground cable (negative) coming from the battery?
  20. Hey! Who left the door open? :o I haven't used them, but someone else said this outfit had good prices: http://www.autohausaz.com/lexus-auto-parts/index.html
  21. I was going to say welcome to the forum as this is your first post but then I see that you joined in 2006!! Oh well, congratulations on your first post then. I'm with landar, do you mean to help you physically change them or to tell you how? If just to tell you how, this should help: http://www.clublexus.com/forums/382647-post1.html
  22. Congrats on your purchase and welcome to the forum. An iPod connection to the radio, you're all set. As for your radio backlight issue, very common. I haven't fixed mine yet, but here a are a couple threads to get you going. http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...showtopic=36871 I posted a link to a thread that has directions on how to repair resistor solder joints that fixes the backlighting issue here: http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...showtopic=61125
  23. For the seatbelt, this thread has a link with instructions for retensioning. http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...showtopic=54008 The cupholder could just be stuck from spilled pop and such. You can remove it to clean it out: http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...showtopic=30241 PS If you havent figured out how the forum's Search function works, take a look here: http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...showtopic=57361
  24. You could have mentioned that in your first post, it would have changed the way people responded to you.
  25. The bolt specs could be M12x1.75 according to this post: http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...st&p=386848 1/4" according to this: http://www.clublexus.com/forums/ls400/3438...system-diy.html and M14x1.5 here: http://www.clublexus.com/forums/ls400/2641...all-i-need.html
