  1. On the SCs you can get to it from underneath the car. My LS, don't know. BTW, why aren't you guys empty your fuel tanks before do this?
  2. Have you asked JPI? He used to work for them.
  3. I would check the fuel pump and the fuel filter. A couple of months ago, someone hit me from the back, and my RPMs dropped eventually stalled. The problem lingered for a few more days, and then cleared up. I later found out my filter was filthy, so I replaced it. Hasn't happened anymore.
  4. I'm adding this link for a few people to check out. A member on the LS forum added it a couple of days ago. Their server is a little defective, and having a high speed connection will help speed up some of the applications. Apple Quicktime Required. V8 Exhausts: http://www.lexusgonewild.com/norCal_v2/V8exhaustComp.htm
  5. I like the exhaust note from the Tanabe. I also like the Blitz and JICs Bullet--Note that's the same SC in the clearcorners.com LED picture
  6. I installed those on my first gen LS. To some degree I'd stay away from them. You'll probably feel the Body on Frame problem during quick lane changes. Otherwise the shocks are really soft, and effective over bumps. If I had a choice, I'd stick with the OEMs or some of the other ones out there.
  7. tansupplyman: Have you seen the air filter before? Personally I don't think the cabin filter exists on the First Gen cars. I've only noticed the one under the wiper blades, but I haven't looked for it yet.
  8. yeah, it sounds like you shorted the cable. My SC has a wiring harness problem, but I managed to isolate the specific cable and harness. I would say, use a multimetre and test each wire, all the back to the front. THere's a bad cable that's shorting it out. Once you ID it, you could buy the specific harness or buy the specific wire from Radio Shack.
  9. Congrats JZZ. I wish I was in your shoes.
  10. you really don't have to swap the cables out. JUst make sure they are clean and leak-free. Some of us have replaced the cables because we wanted to get better performance from the cables, but you don't have to, unless there is something wrong with them.
  11. I think it's worth it. I like the changes done on the 04, the messager for the rear seats--according to MotorWeek, and it being car and drivers best luxury choice over the BMW, Mercedes, Jag and so on. A little bias since the Infiniti Q45 wasn't mentioned in it.
  12. You sure it's not the common 'coin, jammed in the socket" problem?
  13. How are your shocks? Is it rubbing against springs? what's the height of your car--ground to bottom skirt?
  14. I think LEx has won the 'maximum mods, max spent" contest. We're proud of ya!! :)
  15. Someone else wanted to replace their leather trim, and the answer was, Visit http://www.leatherseats.com/ They might be expensive.
  16. I don't think that would cause a misfire. My 94 doesn't have the dimming on the side mirror option, but if you know that it used to then, that's something else. The green colour is an anti-reflective material coating used to protect the mirror. Similar to new glasses.
  17. I believe they are the exact same, as long as you're not going into the aftermarket ones. But chekc the Wheels and tires forum
  18. I like them both. I'd prefer getting 18" Carlssons though.
  19. Hey when was the speed-sensative steering added to the LS?
  20. Are you thinking about the Made-date?
  21. You'll need a couple of Jacks to hold the rear differential up. It's a pain to do if you don't have a lift, but if you have access. Don't forget you'll need a compressor and all the tools with it, otherwise it will be a weekend job.
  22. I'm going with the Air suspension and the age of the Shocks. Tire pressure could be the culprit as well.
  23. I'd rate it a 3. For an amature, without the proper tools, very hard.
  24. Bill Harrison: Are the leather seats made from Hog skin or Cow skin, or do you know?
  25. Axle back is referring to just the muffler. The rest of the piping is stock. So you're just buying the noise and some performance. The Cat-back refers from the catalyc converter to the exhaust tips. The Borla is better because it's a cat-back exhaust. It would have been better if it was a header exhaust, but that requires custom work. Cat-Back: Longer Better performance-more air out and faster. Better choice when you go to upgrade. I don't think you want to tackle a turbo 8Cylinder, since it's rather complicated. Supercharging is the best. In that case, you'll want a custom exhaust. I'm not 100% if the turbo exhaust from the SC3 will work on the SC4, but you can ask my fellow moderators (AWJ, and Lex_Luthor). they can answer that part. My Choice, 92 SC400 w 4.9-li stroker, Tex headers, Dynamax mufflers, & 2.5" true -dual. Best bang for your buck.
