  1. It sounds like someone hasn't tuned it correctly, or a bad wiring/plug. Perhaps you could take it back to the tuning company, and ask them to drive the car. Question did this problem happen before or after your tune-up?
  2. Tell me you guys aren't taking a torque wrench to your drain plug?
  3. Okay, there's a reason why Sk told you take the car to Lexus. It's because if you apply an petrolium-based lubricant including anti-seize, you risk a fume build-up in a vacuumed electrical zone. Two things will happen, major electrical fire, or a failure or misfire of the plug. I would suggest a little bit more elbow-grease instead of using lubricants. If needed, use something that will give you a little bit more leaverage. Remember, preventive maintenance, is good maintenance.
  4. I experience my vibrations during summer, and sometimes during winter. I don't think the motor mounts need to be replaced, unless you're experiencing a loud noise and vibrations during gear'd-idle. Since there are people who have noticed this problem with their GM Cars and Trucks, and since Toyota used many GM parts and design (body-on-frame) to build the Gen 1 LS, I'm leaning towards a replicated flaw with the design.
  5. You lost me. The Lexus website says: "Performance - 4.3-liter, four-cam, 32-valve 90° V8 engine. Certified Ultra-Low Emission Vehicle (U-LEV) - 290 hp @ 5,600 rpm, 320 lb-ft @ 3,400 rpm torque - Continuously Variable Valve Timing with intelligence (VVT-i) - 0 to 60 in 5.9 seconds [1] - 1/4-mile acceleration: 14.5 seconds [1] - Top track speed: 131 mph (electronically limited) [1] - Aerodynamic drag coefficient: 0.26 with standard suspension or available Euro-tuned Sport Suspension (0.25 with available Adaptive Variable Air Suspension) - Six-speed sequential-shift automatic Electronically Controlled Transmission with intelligence (ECT-i), and power and economy switch - Rear-wheel drive with Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) [2] integrating Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) and Traction Control (TRAC) system - Estimated fuel consumption: 18/25 mpg city/highway [3] - Vehicle-speed-sensing, progressive power-assisted rack-and-pinion steering, 3.52 turns, lock to lock - Available Adaptive Variable Air Suspension with automatic load leveling - Available Euro-tuned Sport Suspension (requires 245/45WR18 tires [4]) - Front suspension: Independent, double-wishbone with high-mount aluminum upper arm, coil springs, gas-pressurized shock absorbers with internal rebound springs, anti-lift and anti-squat geometry, stabilizer bar - Rear suspension: Independent, double-wishbone with aluminum upper arm and carrier, coil springs, gas-pressurized shock absorbers, anti-lift and anti-squat geometry, stabilizer bar - 17 x 7.5-in alloy wheels with 225/55HR17 tires [4] - Available 225/55HR17 all-season tires [4] - Available 18 x 7.5-in Lexus Chrome Wheels [4] (Requires Sport Suspension option) " Lexus.com 2/29/2004--21:11. You must have missed that part on your initial inspection.
  6. Did they charge you for another quart? THeir $28/30 deal includes upto 5 quarts. My Light came on last night, but also disappeared after a few secs.
  7. When you checked your coolant level, was the engine still hot? Try checking the coolant level in the morning, before you start the car. This will give the coolant time to return to the reservoir.
  8. Two Electrical fans should only be one when the AC is on, and when the radiator requires emergency cooling. Engine fan should always be on, since it's operating your engine. If your electric fans turn on, when the AC is not, it's a good indicator that the coolant in your car isn't as good as it should be.
  9. Dexron III. I would recommend using Mobil1 Synthetic Dexron III fluid. I would also recommend the Toyota one.
  10. Do you have any pics of your 91 display?
  11. You may be feeling the 4spauto trans. When you have time, I would suggest you throughly warm-up the block, and from 0mph, watch your RPMs as the gear shifts. Do this slowly so that you can watch each gear shift. On my car, I make my gears shift at 2000RPMs, and time it. It's possible one of your gears will shift late, but the status quo for all LS cars is to shift equally(time). Check out your gears first, and do you have any error lights ON?
  12. MrSypher, Lextasy, jdmparts_guru, JPI---AUTHORISED TRADERs
  13. The Lexusgonewild site is cool. You won't find too many cat-backs, since Magnaflow and I think Borla are the only ones state-side. BTW: when you upgrade your exhaust and your intake, you're not going to save any fuel. You're forgetting, more BHP and torque--meaning greater air-fuel ratio, the less likely you're going to save fuel. Same with forced-air-induction.
  14. The guys from Tekademics told me, they stopped each night/evening, and their video collaborates with their story. jzz30 : do you remember the movie Speed Zone? It's kind of like that.
  15. Mchullan(incorrect spelling) makes a kit you could use on the SC and LS. Recommended by some people on this forum. I'm using a SPW Kit, but one of my fellow moderators is using this brand in the LS400. HID KIT Hope this helps
  16. I would suggest you visit "Performance Parts, and FAQ" pinned in this forum. I've placed a post for some remanufacturers, but expect to pay a little--Not $400. If that one bulb doesn't really bother you, I would suggest leaving it for now, until you really need to.
  17. Have you asked MrSypher or Lextasy? They should be able to.
  18. I agree with VMF. It sounds like there is still air in system. If your resevoir is full, you could take it out by: Starting the car open the cap of the PS resevoir. Turn the steering wheel from one side to other (completely). You'll notice white bubbling, but ignore it. Keep on doing it until the noise disappears.
  19. You should use what the Manufacturer suggests. I use 30psi, since I don't have a full load. Otherwise 32psi would be good for the car. How is your alignment? Is the steering wheel still tilted? BTW: whoever wrote the higher the pressure, the better the ride, is either retarded, or needs to be put away. Trust your owners manual and references cards.
  20. BlueThunder2008: Tell us exactly what it sounds like. Does it sounds like a rattle, a constant buzz, or something else? Your original statement doesn't include any details. Also, it would help if you learn where the sound is coming from? This way we can have you troubleshoot, and you don't have to take it in. :)
  21. Don't know exactly. Transmission, Drive Train-drive belt. Perhaps you could ask someone to push the brake while you listen to what's vibrating.
  22. See if you have any fluid in it, and the level.
  23. Don't forget to save at least $8k, for expenses. I guess when I get my shop operational, and start making money, then a friend and I will attempt it. Good luck
  24. Very nice. Are you competing in the Gumball? I was planning on competing last race, along with the guys from Techademics. Now I really wish I did.
  25. You could always PM him or IM him. His banners are all over this forum :)
