  1. I looked in my parts book and there wasn't anything......what year LS? There were a few part #'s close to it (they change them sometimes) and they were for the rear door panels.
  2. I personally think it looks best with only the "L" emblem in the center. Hopefully sometime I'll get the Lexus emblem shaved off at the body shop. My 2 cents... :whistles: Sidenote....I'm seeing pictures from my site turn up here a lot now........although this one was umm, not mine ;)
  3. I've been watching and it really breaks my heart to see what has happened, what is happening, and what ISN'T happening. I've got a large portion of my family in New Orleans...luckly they are all safe and that's what's important. I hope things start to get better soon. It's extremely disappointing seeing how poorly this is being handled....to say the least. I'm going to donate as much as I can afford to help the cause, and I hope all of you will do what you can as well.
  4. Well, my 1st gen does have a gasket ;). Maybe the 2nd and 3rd gens don't...haven't checked.
  5. Good to hear you got everything working. How hard was it to remove the PS pump? My repair manual says you can just remove the pump but I find that hard to believe. What all did you need to take out to get it?
  6. Things wear out. You can't worry about it so much, just drive. What causes the problems are the links...bushings, ball joints, shocks. These things will wear out no matter what...if you drive your car.
  7. Try buying a new fuel cap gasket. You're supposed to replace it every once in a while. It has a notch in it...maybe that helps relieve pressure. Anyway, I replaced my gasket a while ago and on the next fill up there wasn't nearly as much of a pressure build up.
  8. That's the Bimetal vacuum switching valve No.1 90925-05075 Valve, Bimetal Vacuum Switching, No.1 I only know because I have a parts book ;)
  9. Getting them out was pretty simple minus a few tough nuts & bolts. Getting the stock bushing out was easy too with my torch. My main problem was putting them back on. I really could have used a hydralic press to push them in. I would push them in and they would pop right back out! The fit was a little too tight (the lower arm bushings). I'll leave it at that cuz I'm off topic here, sorry. Another note about bushings. I emailed the company and they told me the rear LS bushing kit will be here in about 3-4 months :D.
  10. Oh and another BIG improvement is installing the Daizen front bushing kit. I'm in the middle of it now.....and my body hurts! I did the upper control arm bushings last week and immediately noticed an improvement in the feel. It feels like a new car again, very cool. It's a TON of work though OMG, I'm dying...I like my desk job more now :D. You'll see more on my site within the next few months.
  11. SS brake lines are a great bang for your buck. BIG improvement in pedal feel and safety, tutorial on my site.
  12. It is a trash can, it just closes completely.
  13. I've seen a few auctions for JDM folding mirrors before and most include a panel that has the switch on it and it looks really good. The panel I'm talking about is the same one that has the security switch, on the lower left side of the steering wheel. The JDM ones just have that extra switch for the mirrors in addition to the stuff we already have. Yeah, you could use any old switch but it would look much better with the stock one IMO. Just my 2 cents, to each his own :).
  14. You need the switch and panel to go with those, that auction doesn't have the switch :whistles: .
  15. Looks nice and clean, congrats :D. 98-00 are my favorite years for the design...some day!
  16. Looks good B) . Hey, how much did that tint set you back?
  17. Good to hear you want them, here's what I have to say about this: http://www.lexls.com/tutorials/intro/repairmanual.html I have both hard copies and the digital ones from TIS. Do not buy from books4cars! I had a bad experience; you're better off buying retail from your local dealer.
  18. Oh man, the green/red debate :whistles: . Both work, red is factory. Don't sweat it, just change it when you're scheduled too.
  19. On the 93-94 LS's it's a bad capacitor on one of the circuit boards that causes this problem. Replace cap C142 and you'll be in business, 4.7uf 25v.
  20. Mine only goes around the second notch too. I've been trying different things to see if they fixed it and nothing has so far....new OEM thermostat, coolant flush, tested the cluster needle itself. I just bought a new water temp sensor so hopefully that fixes it.
  21. Man, you drive WAY more than me!! Oh wait....I work at home, no commute :D. Anyway, just wanted to chime in again on the sound deadening. Dynamatt is WAY overpriced. I used RAAMmat, 2 full rolls in my car. It's great stuff because it does exactly the same thing Dynamatt does for a fraction of the cost. http://www.raamaudio.com If you want to put sound deadening in your entire car this is the way to go. It's takes many many hours to install though....all for a VERY quiet ride :D.
  22. I'm glad at least some of you actually read my article! The 4th gen is coming out soon.....LS460 with 2 chassis to choose from and a hybrid edition. I guess it's going to be the first V8 hybrid, although it still probably gets poor MPG (<30).
  23. Yeah....I forgot to update that page. You're right, they only sell the entire assembly and not the filter. If you follow up on the advice you got you can probably find something that works. I don't really have the time to hunt for a replacement.
  24. Look's great! I'm thinking of steam cleaning my carpet. You're saying one of those rug machines you rent at the hardware store won't cut it? That seems crazy to me.
