  1. You're right it was added in 93, oops!
  2. He's got a 93. I'm pretty sure the cabin filter wasn't added until 95 (second gen).
  3. A flashing O/D light doesn't mean anything other than you have tranny codes, nothing specific until you read them. It's like the check engine light, it could mean many things. Here's how to read them: http://www.lexls.com/tutorials/intro/codereading.html
  4. Water pumps are designed with a "weep hole" that act as an indicator when your water pump is wearing out and is in need of replacement. As mentioned, you will get a few drops where you park your vehicle. That's interesting, I didn't know that.
  5. No you can't just download everything. If you want all that info for only ten bucks it's going to take a little work on your part. If you're not willing to do the work then you'll have to pay the $100-200 for printed manuals.
  6. This is one of the first tutorials I did: http://www.lexls.com/tutorials/audio/headunit.html Very easy to do but you'll lose your changer and sub. I'm sure the sub can be wired up somehow but IMO it's not worth it, just add a aftermarket amp/sub. That stock sub is only like 25 or 35 watts.
  7. Read this: http://www.lexls.com/tutorials/intro/repairmanual.html
  8. Here ya go: http://www.lexls.com/tutorials/body/fdoorhandle.html
  9. Whoaa, hold on here....you cut out all the factory harnesses?!?! I seriously hope you didn't!
  10. I was actually thinking about this question a few days ago: why does my mileage drop during winter? I live in MN too and every year I notice my MPG go down considerably during the winter. So a few days ago I googled that and found this: http://www.startribune.com/cars/11354696.html. Basically, cold weather does contribute to lower fuel economy. 17Lexus, check out my LS site for tons of maintenance tutorials. The suggestions the others have made are good.
  11. Hey, that's my car! If tinting is illegal in your state don't even bother. With all mods it boils down to what YOU like, not what someone else thinks.
  12. Congrats on getting these big jobs done yourself! It feels good to know it was done right :)
  13. I didn't have any codes or lights when I replaced my sensors but they were still out of spec. Man, if both your sensors read 0 I would say that's out of range! My *guess* is that your sensors need to be replaced, they don't last forever...some info on that here https://www.automedicsupply.com/faq.php?#change I think you might want to remove one and test it inside at room temp to be sure. I'm not sure really, the repair manual isn't always clear, but I would assume they are saying the sensor should be at room temp. I took my reading inside on the bench, at room temp.
  14. It's a job... http://www.lexls.com/tutorials/engine/timingbelt.html
  15. I have a couple tutorials for replacing o2 sensors, they're for 1st gens but the process is similar. http://www.lexls.com/tutorials/EFI/
  16. http://www.lexls.com/tutorials/audio/powerantenna.html
  17. I do as much as I possibly can myself, and when I can't or don't have the necessary tools I bring it in. Mainly, I'll do most everything except pulling out engine/tranny and rebuilding.
  18. Pay it and move on, case closed. I wouldn't waste the time of going to court just to save a couple of bucks. You were speeding and got caught, it happens. Next time you're going down that stretch just remember it's a speed trap and go the limit.
  19. Ok, I found my notes on this. I **think** C12 (25v 47uf) is the main cap for the fuel gauge on 90-92 clusters. C16 (10v 100uf) also may have something to do with the fuel gauge. This is just from testing the caps I pulled to see if they were out of spec and C12 was the furthest from spec. I replaced all the caps on my boards so I can't say for sure. Let me know if these are truely the ticket!
  20. When the O/D light flashes periodically while driving it means you have a transmission code stored. Save yourself $100 and read it yourself, it's very simple: http://www.lexls.com/tutorials/intro/codereading.html This happened to me before and I needed a solenoid and speed sensor replaced. Once replaced all has been good for over a year. The light is just the the check engine light, the car is telling you something needs to be checked out and/or fixed.
  21. The procedure is outlined here: http://www.lexls.com/tutorials/brake/bleeding.html When I installed my SS lines I got a much better pedal feel, something to consider.
  22. I don't see any procedure in the RM. Just replace it since it's cheap. The water temp sender is cheap and is the small one, the water temp sensor is much more expensive and has a green plug. They're both right next to each other.
  23. My car did this too when I first got it, alarm randomly went off, sometimes in the middle of the night . It turned out to be the front courtesy switches, they wear out over time. I would check your switches... http://www.lexls.com/tutorials/electrical/fcourtesy.html This happens because the doors are locked, so the alarm is armed, then one of the switches may open (since it may be worn/wearing out) and the system thinks someone has opened the door.
  24. I can't remember the name but you're right, it is a valve that has two vacuum hoses coming out of it. Replace that and you should be good.
