  1. I have both the whine and thump in my 94 ES300 with a somewhat failed transmission , it is the same one as the RX . It picks up more noise with rpms and sounds liek metal gears lashing from excessive movement. I am not sure if it is a lack of lubrication situation or what .
  2. disconnect the battery terminal and reconnect it after 10 seconds.
  3. The rims are discontinued ,OEM floormats only.
  4. It is a prototype car picture taken by Lexus .
  5. Sounds liek 2 seperate issues. Could be a loss of vacume for load activation. CLean the throttle body.
  6. Don't buy a denso set up as it will cost thousands of dollars. Any aftermarket parking kit will work perfectly as it has the same amount of work mounting them in the bumper . After that is done all you need it 2 wires and it can be installed within 2 hours and cost less than $100.
  7. The sludge issue is nothing to worry about as Toyota will replace the engien for you. The tranny needs to be looked after and they are fine. I changed your title but what is ot: ?
  8. They fit but are awful looking. They have a high offset and sit very close to the inside of the car.
  9. Glad you like it here. Do not heat the bolt much as it will damage the seal and will leak like a pipe after you finish the job. A slight amount of heat would be ok but you will have to replace the main crank seal. If you can find a tool use it as it is needed on many lexus V8 cars.
  10. Look under your car and you will see it goes under the all parts of the car. A resonator is a small muffler , cats are by the exhaust manifold on either side which is where the o2 sensors go.
  11. OEM factory glass is amazing , fix it before it gets worse aftermarket glass always sucks and never looks as clear.
  12. Go to www.hidplanet.com for good info on HID kits and stay away from Taiwan China kits . If it does not say denso or phillips keep looking.
  13. No way to test a waterpump and it is located behind the timing belt which means it is pretty deep to get to . A used water pump ? My feelings is if you bought a Lexus for reliability then use OEM or upgraded parts if you want it to beat on and overheat then regular parts stores will work fine for replacements.
  14. May have a head gasket leak get a compression and a leak down test to know for sure. The engine is also covered by Toyota's extended warr for 10 years or so for free sludge problems.
  15. Don't find a way to customize the airbag it either fits or it doesn't . The last thing you want is an airbag flying 200mph at you with a metal plate on it.
  16. Coil-overs a a matched shock and spring setup with an adjustable spring perch to change the height as required. They start from about $800 to $1500-2000 I have JIC's but Tein CS is also very nice.
  17. year? battery/alternator needs replacing before it fully kills the solenoid on the starter.
  18. You need to remove the sliders and wire wheel them then reinstall them using slider grease. So many DIY guys change brakes thinking it is only pulling off parts and throwing new ones on. When changing the pads/rotors you have to clean and grease the slider pins if it is floating and lube the inside of the piston boot . You should also remove and flush a small amount of fluid that sits behind the pistons as it is where most air and bad fluid sit.
  19. So you did not grease the sliders? Sounds like a seized caliper/warped rotor.
