  1. I recently installed the Daizen bushings to the lower sway bars and I have to say that it feels MUCH better than before. Most likely because I have a 93 first gen which probably had original bushings which had gone to much anyway. The first bushing I installed was a MESS because I unloaded the full pack of grease into it (which is what you are supposed to do)... so on the next bushing I only did 1/2 the pack to make install easier... but now I see why you unload the whole package as it seems like the grease may wear out and cause squeaking. I guess I will know if the left rear side of my car starts squeaking (the one I did 1/2 on)!
  2. I just got a pair of these red and clear tail lights off of ebay and they look like . They are advertised to be new, but clearly the rubber seals were taken off of a used LS400 and put onto these with tacky glue. You can see the glue that seals several sections of the tail lights from the outside, the aluminum (or whatever it is) lining between the clear and the red section is warped and punctured etc.. All in all, these are of very poor craftsmanship and I am trying to get a refund - minus I pay the shipping. I simply wanted tail lights that would help make the car look more 'new', but I will not sacrifice good craftsmanship for the sloppy aftermarket ones. I have seen several cars online with these tail lights and was wondering if anybody who has purchased this item has had a similar experience? Are there other brands that make this same unit? Any comments would be appreciated. Thank you!
  3. Sorry was out of town on business for a few days. JIN, I found this product on a Japanese website. I'm assuming it is a brand that never made it to the US. In Japan, as you may know, the Celsior is the most popular Toyota before the Crown, and there are tons of aftermarket parts available for all generations of celsior.
  4. Have you ever heard of JIN coilovers? They seem to be reasonably priced at about $800 for the set. I suppose like anything, the more you spend the higher quality you will get.
  5. Yes I have all options except the air suspension. So coil overs are the best way to go huh? I haven't price searched them, but it looks like they will cost around $1500+? Any reccomendations? I know Japan offers many different coil overs for the Celsior.
  6. So I've been looking at lowering springs for my 93 LS, and most brands have a 1 inch drop, but Tanabe springs offers them at a 1.3 drop in the rear with a 1.8 drop in the front, making them the lowest. Has anybody used Tanabe for the LS or seen pictures of an LS with Tanabe springs installed? I'll have to admit that the only complaint I have with the LS is the ridiculous body roll. I've replaced the sway bar bushings with Daizen ones, which seems to help, but I think the car needs performance struts, lowering springs, control arm bushings by Daizen and a strut bar to get the tank under control. Anybody disagree?
  7. akewlguy, Can I assume from the looks of this that you have not put any lowering springs on the car? I'm about to buy some and am trying to figure out what kind of drop I should do.
  8. LaserRon, Thanks for looking over that for me. I figured out that it is on windowlock mode now. I can only open and shut the drivers side door. I'll just have to figure out where the button needs to contact to not be in power window lock mode as a temp fix until I buy a new unit.
  9. So I searched the forum and figured it would be best to simply clean my switches to get them all working again. While doing so, the power window lock spring popped out causing the white plastic housing, a gold clip, and what looks like a staple to come un-done. Has anybody had this happen? I'm not quite sure how it all goes back together. I should just buy the full service manual for this car!
  10. You know what I would do? If you want to spend some money, why not invest in the car you own now? There are a lot of little things you can do to the LS400 to really make it stand out and look 'newer' than it is. Like JDM one piece headlights, clear bumper signals and red with clear center tail lights (like all the new cars, nobody seems to use orange anymore). And of course, 18 inch rims look fabulous on an LS400 and still allow room for rubber so you still have a nice smooth ride. Just by making those changes you will turn heads left and right! I ask people to guess what year my LS is (93) and most people say 98 to 2000 (not lexus geeks of course). It still has looks that can compete with the current market in my opinion!
  11. I have heard that if you have given your car regular oil for its lifespan, you should not switch to full synthetic as old oil buildup will start to come loose and mess with your engine. Would it be wise not to make the switch now?
  12. I have a pair of Japanese Domestic Market headlights available from Japan. They are single piece units up to the corner, making for a very clean look. The American units are 3 piece all together, quite different. $200 for the pair +$85 shipping out of Japan via Express Mail System which takes about 3 to 5 days. Anyone interested send me an e-mail at jasonmakoto@hotmail.com. Thanks!
