  1. Simple ! the airbags did not respond because you were not wearing a seat belt . Why? It would have killed you if you were flying through the air unrestrained after impact to then impact the bags. Wear the belt and the airbags will function. Case closed
  2. Velocity sensors pick up sudden deceleration . If it was not fast enough it does not deploy . If the other car slid under you then it might not. Lots of factors including the facts of the accident and damage are needed to conclude if the airbags would have gone off.
  3. moved to the gs section , as this is not "Website Suggestions and Feedback" You have some sort of device trying to remote start your car, because of it not being installed properly to disable the oem alarm with a key in the ignition it is setting the alarm off .
  4. most fibreglass kits are knock offs ebay or not and will never fit straight or right.
  5. Roof spoiler a guy on ebay sell every so often for $400 , yah he is on crack. It is a VIP and will not be cheap. Tail lights are the same thing spend $600-1000 from japan with a 2 month wait
  6. There are many universal coolants now a days . based on oats organic material. Colour is just a dye. Save some head ache and read the facts in your owners manual on what goes in yours. Not sure if toyota used pink in 2000 as i thought is was about 03
  7. flex are stiff so i would not like them , jic are not usually track coils more of a street cruiser. Still the SS are my preference. Project Mu makes great pads as well as ebc.
  8. Their is no tutorial on doing a body kit. If it is a real veil-side it would cost more than $2000 and it comes with instructions and could be done in your driveway. Contact veil side to find out if it is real or not.
  9. A co worker bought a mailbu yesterday , his family all have GM vehicles (and AAA). His car even has remote start , it works well , so well you walk far enough to the car to get in range you might as well start it by the key. The front windows are tiny that one might have a hard time climbing out for a dukes of hazard move. But the best piece of design work in true GM fashion ( drum roll please) the front door open only far enough that you have to turn sideways to get in. I know this sounds like i am exaggerating but try one on if you can get in. How hard would have been to design a proper hinge to actually open a door ?
  10. Are you sure it is fuel? It may be a slow leak but is pooling on the plastic under engine shroud . Fix it asap or you might not have a car to come back to.
  11. You are have to base installation on what type and make the kit is , If it cost less than $2000 it will require body work to install and finish as it will look like crap if it even fits. Most kits are fiberglass quickly laid from poor molds so they are not flat and do not have mounts to fit. See those cars with huge gaps around the headlights fenders and hood . Cheap kit with poor installation.
  12. I mod more than most view put together , so they are just learning like yourself. Which set of tein coilovers did you have for your civic , the SS suspension is really smooth even with large rims , i don' t like the other lines only cs and ss for being able to still be luxury with a sport edge almost bmw ish
  13. I'll have to ask. i know he will take atleast 2 weeks to let me know as he has them put away. Do you need all 4 center caps ? DO you have a pic of the exact wheels on your car?
  14. OMG , when is the last time someone said you are crazy , well this certifies you for the loony bin :) Unbelievable work ,congrats.
  15. Yeah i have heard they are hard to get a hold of but they have loads of parts. Start by getting SS brake lines and upgraded pads and rotors for a nice stage 1 start. I prefer tein ss suspension for any car for smoothness.
  16. Last week i decided to pull my old plugs as they were 2 years old with about 80 000km on them. They looked fine and seemed lean all the way around by white tips. I got a set locally of 8 for $50 . Which is the same NGK iridium's that were in there before. The last time i changed them i noticed no difference at all in the car. This time was drastic difference. It starts up faster without any mis starts with the remote start when very cold -15. The mileage has dropped from 9L/100km (26mpg) to 6L/100km (39mpg) in the same stretch of roads. So what has changed ! I only did one thing differently , when removing them i noticed the threads were dirty . So i knew the head threads were dirty also. Also the ground screw on the coils on each of them were tight also. So i sprayed pb blaster on each thread before installing them on the plugs threads as well as the screw holding in the coils. Also the voltage on my add on display for my air suspension shows 14.1vdc at start with only a drop to 13.7 when the engine has reached temp . It used to show 13.4vdc at cold start and down to 12.8 when hot. I have replaced all ground on the car a year ago as well as the battery so it should have all it needs to flow. My digital gauge is reading the voltage from my trunk which has a voltage drop of 0.3-0.7 volts from the battery up front . It has 0 gauge wire feeding the amp in the trunk so the drop is normal. The battery should be reading 14.4vdc at the battery the way it should be now taking the voltage drop into the equation . Also had a tranny which shifted with the slightest effort added whether cruising or driving hard it would kick down easily like it was dragging bricks behind it . So , conclusion , clean the threads properly and replace the plugs , use pb blaster and post the results. I am impressed by far. Also my unusual mileage has to do with my car being lower with air suspension to reduce drag as well as the tires psi set to 40psi. The biggest factors are my cold air intake , exhaust being freed up and the electric fan which only turns on when i come to a full stop. Oh yah , i mod it because i love it !
  17. The transmission is staying engaged. It needs a new program
  18. Contact another dealer for extending it, it is from lexus HQ not the dealer.
  19. Just aim the headlights down after to stop glare and it should be fine. I am not sure what kind of pictures you are looking for? The colour is what ever you choose, the beam spread can only be seen properly in person not by a camera.
  20. The LX is a good ol landcruiser. It is used worldwide as the vehicle of choice for military , militants , desert crossings, artic crossing and anything in between. It is truly indestructible in every way , you can run the engine at redline for an hour and a tire would blow before the engine. I know i sound overboard but if i ever wanted ultimate reliability in a harsh environment the LX is hands down.
