  1. Wow never seen a bulb bubble like that as a drl.
  2. I prefer pb blaster , applying heat from a torch and tapping it with a hammer. Doing this in sequence over a few times will cause it to loosen. ' Since the hole is rounded get a stud /nut remover . Should be done it 30 minutes.
  3. A 6 year old car with paper cones in a normal environment will sound like crap. If you have specific tastes , replace the speaker and head unit to something you desire . I never understand why people such as your self compare a whole vehicle sum a disaster because of a flaw that is a personal taste ?
  4. wow that is totally different from my flasher on my 98 which has 8 wires integrating the hazard into it but in the same physical area. Like i mentioned in your other thread i am getting a replacement unit which should plug right in with no worries of fast flashing.
  5. Any aftermarket alarm or anything else added to be draining it? I say the alternator is not keeping up to charge the battery long enough. I have a similar problem with my es 300 where at idle it puts out only 11 volts and never keeps the battery charged enough.
  6. Now that is good thinking. I was going to do the same when i finally find a set of smd bulbs bright enough to echo in lumens a halogen bulb. So far the smd's might be "1 watt" but they are still too dim for my tastes to feel safe using them. What bulbs are you going with?
  7. specialty? It only needs to be heated with a torch to be undone.
  8. I goggled the code and the first response was. You don't walk into a doctor and say i am sick do you? year model problem associated , things that are relevant might help. http://www.toyotanation.com/forum/showthread.php?t=218046 I have been having problems with my 96 T100 for a while. It wouldnt idle a little higher to warm up, and I had to give it gas when I started it. Its got the 3.4L fuel injected. I replaced the throttle position senser (almost $100), and it didnt do anything. I finally popped a code on a long road trip, P0510, for a throttle position switch. Well, it ended up being the idle air control valve, which costs close to $300. Before you go buy expenise parts, make sure you do all the proper troubleshooting! You have to take off the throttle body to get to the IAC, but its real simple! I took off the IAC and it had a lot of carbon deposits. It read fine on the multi-meter, and when I jumperd it with power, the valve wasnt opening all the way. All it needed was a good cleaning with some throttle body cleaner and it works like new! Nice to save some cash.
  9. The GS will handle well if it is equipped with snow tires . fuzions are pretty much a summer tire and cannot be really called an all season tire like the Michelin hydro edge . Also make sure you have a full tank of gas at all tires for max traction. I drive my LS all the time and have few issues with it and my snow tires. Tire rack sells tires directly to Canada with a complete price built in with taxes and duties so UPS cannot hose you on them. Tire rack sells normal tires , they buy in bulk unlike any other company as they are national.
  10. It has always been a complete ecu swap to change it , otherwise a dealership may have the option to change it with their diagnostic computer.
  11. there is no 21 code for a 94 es300 as that year is OBD2 compliant and not 1.
  12. I wonder if it is only newer cars or the older with no vvt 1uz-fe engines.
  13. by pressing the button twice you are mimicking the unlock on the key cylinder , 1 opens driver only and twice opens all. Or get the dealer to set the locks to open all with 1 press on the factory system.
  14. Spanish is not an official language in the states but French is in Canada . So it makes sense to kill 2 birds with 1 stone for both countries with "official " languages.
  15. Take it back and ask the guy to set the alarm to do a double pulse on the door lock or just press unlock twice.
  16. If it is an alarm lock out , their is a procedure to relearn the keys by using the pedals and turning the ignition. I did it on my 98 LS400 and it programmed the key i still use the key today . Search the site for key reprogramming , one is for the door locks the other is for the ignition lock out.
  17. The person who told you they are better built in Canada is clueless. Only the RX 330/350 is made in Canada every other lexus is made in Japan.
  18. Use the one working bulb connector to activate the harness .
  19. the dealer sells the manuals , also ebay is cheapest for the manual and relay wiring.
  20. I have noticed that the dust will embed itself in the finish if you go to touchless car washes as the chemicals used don't clean the wheels and make it worse.
  21. What a funny thread . I just revamped my thinking on LED turns last night . I already have front turn signals in Amber with load resistors to keep them blinking normal . Yes they do get very hot. I also had to make the opening larger to get the LED bulbs in the sockets. So last night i found their is a better way to use leds on signals not brake lights to stop the malfunction of rapid flashing. It replaces the flasher module. Toyota has a specific flasher which is a pain to bypass as i already tried . It basically replaces the original one to one that never flashes fast but works normally otherwise. When i get it in a few says I'll update the thread.
  22. buy a hid relay wiring kit from ebay , you fried your wiring as the fogs were never meant to run HID bulbs
  23. also bought mine from ebay for my es and ls for $40 and they both still work great.
  24. wireless fm transmitter nothing else to do wired fm transmitter , attaches to the antenna wire behind the deck for a clearer fm signal tape adapter , simple but can cause issues with the tape mechanism over time cut wires from the cd changer to add a line in using the cd function. from worst to best audio signal
