Does it run normally without the key? May have had a remote starter in the car before.

I think we have all come across more than a few times dealers not knowing the finer details of how a system works. So the dealer telling you it should have or anyone at the dealer may not have been as fairly intimate with the details of an airbag system. The 2nd gen systems in all 97 and new systems are completely different than previous SRS systems. It is made as a crash data recorder. So it will be able to tell you the velocity and the exact physics of the choice it made and why the program did this. So no belt no airbag is as simple as it gets. You probably would have been killed if it went off as your head hit the windshield the airbag would have come up below you and broken all of your ribs and killed you then transplanted you into the back seat next to your child. Also the site you list krissy mentions that the airbags are not inflating with the proper force for the supplementary knee and side bags on a GS model . Cars have recalls but again yours issue is because of the belt not the car.

agreed , improper oiling of the filter from applying too much and not letting it drip dry as indicated in the instructions is the problem.

crw1342-b is written on mine. I thought alpine used the same cartridge though but mine is exactly the same but with lexus on it. I am going to add a line in using the cd changer wiring under the seat with relays with my ipod and sat radio instead as cds are a waste of space.

One of the sensors is broken. The pads may be worn as well and occasionally turning on until they wear down.

If it was only last week you could have gone to the Tokyo auto salon. One trip i dream of going to . One day i will get to the auto salon and ship a container with parts and cars home . :( Wish i knew what to ask for but everything is available here so it would only be a bother. If you do get any VIP magazines , I would love them when you are done with them though.

It should fit fine , the body is the same on all IS200 ,IS300 and altezza

Air bags do kill without a seat belt, it is a concrete wall when the driver gets to them while still being inflated. Once inflated it can allow to be depressurized on impact by the release cutouts on the back. While the rocket fires to inflate it is very harmful and the srs module cannot tell where you are at the time of inflation so it does not inflate it. Broken noses and burns you hear about are from people who do not have the belts tight while driving. The reason the pretensioners exist is just for that reason which is to correct your seating position not to lessen the impact . the airbag does the rest in tandem. So like i said , no seat belt, no airbag. At least on any gen 2 system after 97 .

the best way it to buy the service manuals from lexus to know exactly, beside they are an invaluable research tool on repairs. Also toyota has a site to download it online pretty cheap.

From what i understand long life is the same as the red it is just a life and dye change. If the car came with pink then it has a problem using the older fluids . So if i wanted to switch out to long life i could with no problem on any of mine.

They should be bolted on like all Toyota's , it just looks welded. Find all the bolts and then the ones behind the headlight wheel and lower cladding and it pops off.
