  1. the 94-96 engine bay is 100% the same so it will work a short pipe is pure crap don;t waste the money as you WILL waste it in gas remove the lower water ballast box under the air intake for small increases if tight on cash.
  2. could be almost anything with the srs it is a airbag system with memory ,so it records your crash data in the event of an accident for speed and ofrce of impact to be used by the police if needed. It can pin piont the problem easily. All 97 and newer vehicles have a srs gen 2 system with smart deployment for slower inflation if needed.
  3. If you have a cel light then there is nothing else to do but get it read go to autozone or someplace to get it done for free with an obd 1 scan tool. Once you get htat then you will know for sure where to look as tehre are so many possibilities.
  4. atleast once every 2 years or a week or so before an emmision test if needed in your area as it is almost a guarnteed pass after
  5. dex 3 is newer but the same the diff needs to be moved and the fluid heated to get the fluid to move into that section which is why it didn;t flow out but it is the same fill point.
  6. Put it this way if an owner really is asking for help ,they WILL leave as much basic info as possible those who want to be spoon fed and ask the same qeustions asked the day before and not search will not get much answers. You don;t have to know anything about cars to leave the year and milage it is common sense but we all know common sense isn't all that common Since my stupid sig is on about every post on this site they would have to see "search first" i just don't even bother answering rather than repeat myself and sound like an arrogant !Removed! And of course a nonn lexus owner can put a bmw or anythnig instead they must want to know something about a lexus which is why they are here. And that is exactly what this forum is for. To educate and learn, doesn;t matter what car you own or drive. We don't charge extra for having an "L" on the front of your car ( or anything else) like some places.
  7. Both of mine and my wifes car have the brake on. ALWAYS The key can sometimes still be released without the car being in park . I knwo as my car is like that. I find myself getting in the car and i am in neutral not park .As i always go to neutral before the Pbrake to release all pressure on the tranny and its mounts. The tranny usually is in park but it is my secondary not my primary way to keep the car stopped. I can replace brakes much easier than a tranny for a stupid pall or tranny mount or other part. I like to keep everything loose and used as mucha s possible .Including the a/c which i turn on for 10 minutes a month to cycle the compressor and lube the bearings and clutch. I definatly don;t need the a/c in minus 30 weather but i will in 40 just basic tlc and diy routine driving manitance to keep my and my baby together for a long time.
  8. This is such great info i am going to post it as a sticky.
  9. It is a required field NOW It wasn;t before so older members need to fill it in but all new members have to
  10. I used phoneix gold wires and terminals. I just followed the original wires cut them out and replaced with 4 gauge wire. I didn't want to add more grounds as that can cause a ground loop noise and interferance.
  11. I can't belive what i am reading ! None of you use your parking brake? It is meant to be used every single time the car is not in motion and the brakes are not applied. IT WILL seize up the internal drum brakes and the brake cable causing them to not work properly when needed and not relese properly when they aren;t. Also by using the parking brake you do not place stress on the transmission, exhuast and mounts which can get pretty expensive. The parking pall in the transmission is strong and made for when people don't use the Pbrake. To use the parking brake properly apply the brakes put transmission in neutral apply the parking brake then release the regular brakes this relesases all tension on the car and makes it reside to the rear brake shoes. I uses mine in my level garage
  12. When ever you buy a new car you should always do the maintance right away . Meaning change oil+filter, tranny fluid ,coolant, pcv valve ,plugs +wires+cap +rotor. Then do a motorvac and a compression test before even driving the car.To make sure everything is in perect shape first. Extra stuff is timing belt ,brake pads, all bulbs, rustproof and detail it professionally. What of those things have you done already to rule them out?
  13. The button in the glove box isn;t the trunk release it is the door trunk release lock out. Meaning when pressed it stops the trunk button on the door from opening the trunk. Try pressing it a few time to make sure you didn;t turn it off. Does the gas tank still pop? I would say the wiring is a problem in the trunk . You may have moved or damaged the harness in there.
  14. The clips are at the sides it has to come out to remove the a/c panel
  15. A high pressure fuel rail treatment it uses a machine and the gas tank is shut off and it runs off the machine with higher pressure nad a solution it cleans the crap out of the engines rails valves intake exhaust manifolds cat and exhuast as well as the combustion chamber. For about $100 it will 100% make the car dirve like a whole new one totally different froma basic fuel aditive.
  16. Sorry to hear but it would be easier to buy another one and trade it in my insurance ocves lost keys and rekeying my house and car $800 is pretty cheap for all the locks and the keys it would be easier to buy a good 2 way alarm also as then they couldn;t disarm the alarm and you would know if something is wrong with it
  17. 94-96 same 97-01 same they may be using the manufacturer date of 96 as a 97 model But it is wepon R so i am not suprised if it is a short arm then don;t get it search and you will see lots of answers about it do a cold air or nothing
  18. If the actual o2 sensors readingas are normal when hot then don;t change them you are only wasting money get a motorvac done and clean all of tehm including the cat
  19. Why did you put the picture there ? Isn't a test gallery? leave me a pm with the link and i will remove it later .
  20. alarm starter combo's clifford viper command start compustar
  21. After reading that i am confused and i already did it. To use them just unbolt the lower brackets. Use a small dremel cut off wheel to cut the upper ( on the hood) outer casing off to release the shroud from the slide clip retainer for the ball socket. The new ones have a slide sleeve to resucure them on the ball
  22. Look in the yellow pages for vinyl repair .i had 2 in my cars front door fixed 4 years ago .Can't even find them on the door anymore.
