It is different just liek every other model with a redesign but alot of parts still cross over and has the same problems as the other sc's 430 owners would lose more available knowledge from present sc300/400 owners who would not go to the 430 section to answer . So by segragating owners who would end up losing ?
  8. It can't be as good or else it would be a cai. It is just a conversion system to accomidate the better design with a bad one. It would be better but still not as good asyou would be adding large amounts or turbulance.

  13. the little hole with minor amounts of ambient air to cool the intake charge is like blowing through a straw at a turkey cooking in an oven.

  15. It would be almost impossible for a installer to bend a rim even with a machine, but i can;t see the damage to make a correct anaylsis. I would try lexus and see if they will replace it .Or get an estimate for repair.Some rims need only to be heated slightly and hammered back into place for under $100.
  16. The board inside the climate control? I just pulled forward the face after removing the side screws and it shows the bulbs for the backlighting right there.Twist and remove and replace. There is one bulb for a couple of butons and part of the screen about 6-7 total at the most. I did no soldering on mine 6 years ago.
  17. Is there any physical damage to the rims inside lip as in a rough surface ? Is the tire bulging in that area? Did you purchase the rims with a mastercard with buyer protection, who will replace it for free? Does the bent rim have a large amount of weights on it ,like a few stiprs on the oppostie side of the rim? If so then they balanced it with the problem before and it got worse. If you don;t see any physical damage other than a bend , then rip the manager a new one or selling sub standard wheels ( tsw always bend). btw who makes your rims ? If the tier has a buldge in the same spot then you did hit something pretty hard and it shifted the sidewall . But to bend a rim and not damage a tire is very rare as tires give before rims. Either way a brand new rim bending is ridicuals. They should replace it for free

  19. you didn;t need to buy new bulbs and solder them you needed to buy the oem lexus ones that come with the twist base to remove and replace as tehy are one peice
  20. are you saying the key will not turn or that it does turn but the car wont start. You just might need to turn the wheel hard left or right to get the wheel locking pin to relesewhen turning the key at the same time.
  21. Funny enough all lexus use the same oil filter 6 and 8 cylinders
  22. WHen the engine is cold you will feel a huge gain. But once it gets hot under there ,forget about it ( and the ES 300 engine bay is one of the hottest under hood temps around ,due to its lack of air cuiculation) all the power gains are lost and even then go well below the out put with the stock box. A short arm is a rice part with zero real world gains. Just try a good dyno to see the differences or gains and losses which is how i gauge all my mods for effect. As the brain has a tendency to alter perceived gains with the endorfins of a new toy. Kind of why there is usually never bad s*x (- teeth ,whips and chains, i don;t do or need that) Look at the Lexus sc 300/ soarer /supra guys with the inline 6 .NO company has made a better intake than the stock airbox with a bfi upgrade! NOT ONE! And all it is ,is basically cutting a hole and removing the ballast from the air box. It is basic physics short arm =Hot engine bay air =expanded =less oxygen molecules=more unburnt fuel=wasted gas and performance cold air intake =smaller volume of air =more oxygen molecules to feed the combustion process= hotter burn temps= better afr =less fuel for a complet burn of fuel= as well as better emmisions also.
  23. Why guess with the bulbs? Just get new ones at a toyota/lexus parts desk ? There is already a write up in the workshop tutorial section on how to get at the radio
  24. possible a bad power steering pump as it might be putting excess load on the engine at lower idles and also not pumping fliuid properly to the fan to cool it so it might kill 2 birds with one stone.
  25. The steel cable will not wear unless it is not used and get corrosion in there which adds friction from rust. Using the cable keep sthem in check and you don;t need to yank it up i only pull it up 2 clicks after the car stops moving since it is in neutral .So it is never overtightened and stressed. Also the rear drums on all lexus are used for parking only not form regualr braking as it is a drum inside the rotors hat .
