  1. remember each car had a life before yo withsome other owner and some other dirty mans hand under it. Those 2 people have shaped the life of your car for you ,you have what is left of the original design depengin on how they maintained it.
  2. the old ones look good with the IS rims, the newer ES body style not as nice but that is my opinion.
  3. It is not the HID's that make OEM colours it is the projectors with a sharp cut off on the lenses .
  4. A good throttle body cleanign also is in order, find a local place to you and get a motor vac,.
  5. It is true. It actually is not that hard to make oil pass the seals as the rubber is only slightly touching the metal parts to remove excess lube/oil to keep it from entering the combustion chamber. If it was tight enough to pressurize the selas then they would wear out very easily from the high amount of friction. A pcv is just as noted above. It works by reducing blowby gasses from the block caused by normal operations or from worn rings. This is basically vapoured oil /gas and any other contaminent. By law it cannot be legally exhausted to the atmosphere (reason why thoses little breather filters are illegal). Also it would leave oil deposits on the road from days gone by. Now it has to be reintroduced to the intake to be burnt off during combustion to be released. Also it needs to be their to reduce the pressure from the block which with heat can get rather high can cause backfiring and other drivability problems especially if the seals or rings are worn. With no pcv you would have to release the pressure somewhere. Btw if a pcv (like my neibours lastnight) is so old and has enoguh crud holding it together it will eventually bake itself and cake the oil to a perfect soild. Good luck if it moves again.
  6. I can;t say what to use but i sure as hell would not use mobil one syntethic tranny fluid in my toyota. Myself and otehrs have started the clutch debris and slip problem after use of mobil 1. I have switched to amsoil and it has greatly improved the performance of the transmission to a daily driver instead of a monthly parker.
  7. flat black is also nice ,on the right car thought. I prefer a deep onyx black ,no peral no mettalic it only takes away from a good paintjob if you have/get one.
  8. Agreed head office should be contacted as well as black balling the sales man for his underhanded buisness dealings. Can't blame the whole dealer because i am sure it wasn't a problem created by everyone at the dealer just one.
  9. Umm , i am not sure about that supra. I think that is another next generation version for Lexus like the hxp and about 3 others that lexus has hinted at for a future design.
  10. Go to a stereo store to get tehm replaced cheap and higher quality
  11. you move the boltsbut be careful as moving it too far will crack the adjuster and they will be permantly out of wack. try reintalling the bulb it may not be seated properly,.
  12. Isn't the detiled list right under ti for the explaination? Let me know if it isn;t but it means your sensor on the dash ,the little red bulb is not getting any light so it is not sure if it is dark or not working.
  13. Just keep your car registered in Ontario and they can;t give you tickets for not having it registered to their specs
  14. lol xenon depot is in Toronto and i find tehm to be a rip off. I good set of oem quality can be had for about 300 you will love the ones you got anyway
  15. I agree with myls All cars have their quirks. I would not buy a 97 as it was the first year of the new E It is slow and troublesome and was much improved after 2000-2001 Never mind the constant replacment of the dashes for the lcd's going and going and going, it is so hard to find one with real milage since they normally always get changed.
  16. I want to agreee but if it is on a car that sits outside all day then it is quite possible, Look at the 95-96 ES they changed the plastic to a nicer lookign one when new but it yellows after a few yeasr compared to the 92-4 ones.
  17. You are not supposed to drive with no cluster, You will probably get cel and srs lights as well as a few other thigns when you put it back in after driving it. bad move
  18. they are not always on if you get a ballast it is easier to match up the wiring with either the oem style bulbs which have no wires coming off the bulbs or the aftermarket style ones which has the ballast wires with a round base to adapt to it and twist. I wouldn;t dremel the thing since you can buy a pair of bulbs for $100 already made properly
  19. they removed the ect switch on the 97 and up as it is redundant since it is the same as pressing the gas harder.
  20. yah you would have still been quite welcome, but we would have poked fun at you for a bit. lol But in the end you would have come back to a Lexus again as most always do especially after the (trying to think of the name for it) steak. Oh yah they call it salisbury steak. The worst thing to call steak ever.
  21. Odd my 94 wont; turn it on, hell it even shuts it off if i go into neutral. I try everything
  22. i could not find it ,it is better to post a link next time to save others from searching an entire site to help Their are nice systems wwith audible and visual led bars to tell the distance for about 60-70
  23. cold cars run rich, meaning the throttle plate has to open to compensate for the additional gas, FP is highly unlikely as it would be more relavent under wot than idle. iacv is your problem
