  1. You need a new mechanic, one who won't rip you off by thinking he is too smart. You should have all gotten a motorvac and it would have done the same thing with no mechanic labour of removal of anything for $100
  2. I love oem quality but bembros are even better to me.
  3. Their is a reason for a 2g jump in price and it is not just because of another airbag, which can help reduce your insurance. The I 30 and J30 look nice and drie nice but i don;t find the older nissans with a high amount of quality or reliability. Their a re a few more nissan forums to give you an exact idea of their issues and repair costs.
  4. tell him you want a revolving 7 day contract ,that if it fails to perform properly without the tranny issues for 7 days then you will keep it, if not he will replace it with another ES with the same policy
  5. you need to realign it, but the noise is from air escaping, so you also have an entry or exit issue somewhere, usually fromt eh doors or trunk
  6. MC culloghs are ok phillips makes almost all ballasts as they own the ballast patent and bulb bases(9006,9005 ad so on) Hella doesn;t maek their own ballast. tehir are cheaper taiwan ones. I prefer the oem styles which are old with an internal ignitor as they rarely ever go bad
  7. read what it says above and follow the same options
  8. Probably a dirty throttle causing ti to alomst stall search iacv
  9. read it here http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...showtopic=5471&
  10. It has adual relay system that would need to be removed and rewired to hold the position
  11. Having the base glued is no problem as i have 2nd gen ones on my ES with the better ballasts with an internal ignitor, never had a hickup with them. My civic has them with the moulded base and it has been a problem with ballasts not the bulbs. MC cullogh ballasts are ok, their bulbs are goodwith the moulded base. The best kind of kit is a retrofitted oem ballast from a lexus mercedes or bmw then using the base works perfectly for them. EBAY all day has brand new kits for 200-300
  12. Just don;t buy a 92 -93 as it is a steel block engine more prone to heat problems than the aluminum one which is easier to transfer the heat.
  13. the 02-up ES is a slightly finicky tranny the TL tranny keeps breaking with no redesign. I know a customer on his 4th TL tranny, its an 02
  14. This thread is old and the memmber never answers anyone, locked.
  15. lol>lucky You are right ,it is just a relay making the noise
  16. The lens on the LS is Glass not plastic right? It should hold up but the housing holding the bulbs is what usually always fails from heat warpage. HID;s can be had for 200-300 with simple plug and play 10 minute installs. Get tehm and you won;t be disapointed ,ever,.
  17. You can switch back but gain nothign but a few cents now but usually will pay for it later in wear. It won't cause any extra detremental effects as synthetic is only a type of filtering of oil it is not a synthetic oil just a process to remove impurities.
  18. In canada their is a 15 years rule for importing a vehicle with little harasment of red tape
  19. this is the buy and sell forum link this is the link to the gold emblems thread in it you can see all the prices and info for the emblems right their
  20. In 3 sets i have found all of them with multiple defects and no manufactuer support. all garbage from korea. No grip in anything especially wet. Only thing they were was quiet.
  21. When ever you feel like a hjag go rent one they are in rental fleets by the miles.
  22. I agree with GM and their garbage, $40 for 8 stupid rubber band seals for a fuel injector set, what kind of cripe is that for pricing. I have my wifes on the driveway for 4 weeks as i am so *BLEEP*ed at putting more than a cent in that pos anymore. I have spent more in repairs on a 97 than i have ever on my 94 lex. why am i not suprised. Funny enough even benz has the same stupid style switches on their cars and do not have a cover on the switches that curl up over the side to prevent them from being pressed inadvertantly.
