  1. hmmmmmm... now see this is what I want to hear... options... Do you have any pics of your ride? I would like to see what it looks like. Also do you have 20"'s on your car? If so how does it ride? (I'm sure its kinda rough with that much of a drop) thanks for the info.
  2. I agree on the difference in the spring rates, that is a very good point that I didnt think about on this car. I guess I will have to lower the car all around and maybe look beyond springs to get the ride height that I want. I do know that front wheel wells are cut higher but that does not mean the gap between it and the wheel cannot be the same in the front as it is in the rear. That is the overall idea and design of lowering kits. I just dont want to install a set of springs on the car and have it sit too low in the rear, thats why I am looking for options and feedback.
  3. that would be cool but the front springs would be different from the rear, so that wouldn't work.. unless you just want to lower the rear of yours :D .... one of my first thoughts though..... lol
  4. Hey everyone.. been away for a little while but I have been meaning to ask the members a question regarding the lowering of my GS300. I currently have my 20" Bersaglio/Lowenhart wheels on there and I AM goint to lower it but I was standing back looking at my car a cpl weeks ago and was asking myself "hmmmmm, do I really want to lower it all the way around???" I'll give my reasoning for this question 1st then I will insert the pics. For the simplest of applications I am going to go with a set of Eibach pro kit lowering springs, which drops the car 1"F and 1.1"R But I was looking at the front, which needs the 1" drop tremendously, but the back pretty much already sits right on top of the wheel with maybe a 1" gap already. Im thinking that if I install all 4 springs the front will look great but the rear may look a little to low. My question is has anyone installed ONLY the front lowering springs on their GS? I know it doesnt sound sane but just looking at it from a overall appearance perspective I think it would sit pretty nice. 1st pic: This one looks like the car is about to pull a wheel stand to me. 2nd pic: Back right tire which sits pretty nice w/ no drop. 3rd. pic: WOW... Now I know how girls feel when we look up their skirts... It needs to come down bad..... I dont know if I am just having stage frieght or what but I just dont want to have the car sitting and looking nice in the front and look like I have a saggy diaper in the rear.. lol.. Feedback please.... also if someone has any pics of GS's w/ 20's sitting on a set of Eibachs. Thanks in advance people. ps.. by the way.. these are the wheels that I will be getting rid of soon... 5. hmmm... still not sure about this email feature of this forum. but if you want you can email me at denham_b@yahoo.com and yes they are still available. Been lazy and havent taken them off the car yet. :-)
  6. Well I am not the best person to ask in here but looking at it logically I would say you are 100% correct. The GS430 which is a V8 compared to a ES300 which is a V6 would take more oil and therefore would probably be more expensive for overall maintenance. Another thing is that I just recently purchased this GS3 so I am not really sure what main. cost will be looking at but having a NA engine that my Supra has I can see myself doing most of the work on it myself. But for the major I will be making the trip to Lexus. What I would do is just a quick call to the service dept at your local Lexus dealership and ask them how much the routine maintenances are for both vehicle types. I hope you are not bassing your choice of car on how much the service cost are because although the ES300 is a nice ride that GS430 is plane and simple "The S#@t" aka very very good choice. LOL.. :P Hope this helps a little... Im still green in here but I'm sure some of these guys in here may be in your area and may be able to give you a better idea. Except for those guys in the UK.. dont say anything but double what we pay.. LOL.. jk :D :D and either way you go you are getting a sweet ride.
  7. Sweet... again, thanks for all this info. Hopefully I will be able to get my GS looking right over the next week or 2. Oooh, by the way, anyone interested in a set of 20 X 9 Lowenhart/Bersaglio Wheels? If so let me know before I put them up on Ebay. Here is what they look like. http://www.hartwheels.co.jp/bersaglio/cata...spoke2anime.gif Thanks again guys.
  8. I thought it was a DIY chrome job. I went to the dealership this weekend and saw a 1998 GS300 and in the back by the rear doors the black paint on that pannel looked like it was fading off and when I looked closer I saw chrome... just like when I did my front grill.... but im not 100% sure...
  9. Hey Neo... the front end of yor car is that an addition to the existing front bumper or one complete unit? One more question for you, do you have a complete suspension upgrade or just springs? I did the fist mod to my ride this weekend and love the results. I did the DIY chrome grill but I didnt do the entire thing like the others I have seen. I only chromed the flat part of the verticle ribs. I will be posting pics soon to show the overall progress on my ride soon soon. Does LOC have a certain section for pics of its members rides? .... ooooh one more question... what is the correct offset for 20" rims on a GS300 with same size all around and well as staggered.
  10. Thanks for the info guys. As far as the roof lip/spoiler I will find the link to a members ride in here somewhere that I like and if you wouldnt mind telling me the name of it. For the NAV setup I want to do the factory setup as I would like to mantain the factory feel of the interior.... for now. I love the factory rear wing but seeing your and some of the other rides it makes it so hard to settle on one design.... I guess I will have to see some in person to help me make up my mind. I am looking to place an order over at L-Tunes very soon. By the way, your GS looks amazing.... Not to big up your head or anything lol but thats what I like seeing... Ultra clean tight rims and tires and still maintaining that elgant look. I am trying to sift through the forums to locate some more pics of members rides. So if anyone else wouldnt mind throwing a pic of their ride or a link to it that would be cool. The funny thing is that I found a link to a slide show gallery of various picture of members GS's and watched it like I was seeing star wars for the 1st time.
  11. On the way home last night I set the cruise control at 70MPPH and snapped a pic ofo the RPM which was at 2750. 2k GS300 w/ 40K miles.
  12. 1st. I like to say what’s up to all of the GS3/4 owners in here and to everyone in general. After about a year of hunting for the right one I recently found my Spectra mica blue GS 300. Now that I have it I am looking to set it off right with some nice but subtle upgrades. Being fixated on getting one I went out and purchased a set or Lowenhart 20” wheels almost a year ago when I started my search. They look great on the car but they were originally for a LS400 series and although I don’t have any real problems with them I am looking for some other nice 20’s to replace them. Browsing the site for several months now I have to say that I have seen some of the PHATEST GS3’s ever on here and its inspiring me with some many ideas for my car. If everyone doesn’t mind I would like to list some of the items that I have seen on the forum and if you guys and girls could let me know what the proper names are, where to possibly get them and or links to examples. That being said here are some of the items on my wish list. 1. Lip over the top of the rear glass (what is it and where to get it) 2. Rear wings (I like the stock but any other different styles out there) 3. Front spoilers (not to drastic just clean and nice) 4. Any standard to NAV conversions (very interested in doing) 5. Audio upgrades 6. Changing of rear exhaust tips (not full exhaust systems) 7. Blue lights for the 2 running lights on the hood 8. Head light replacements from the dealer (little fog... big deal or not) 9. 2JZ-GTE conversions. (I have a Supra TT and was smirking at the idea of trading parts when I do some more upgrades to it but I don’t see that happening any time soon. I just think its awesome to see powerhouse GS’s) 10. GS’s on 20’s. I would like to see some more pics of GS’s sitting nice on 20’s and the owners feelings toward them (ride, problems, likes and dislikes) I’ve seen the 18”s and 19” which look so tight but being in south Florida where the roads are somewhat decent I am kinda fixated on the dubs. Sorry for making this such a long post but I wanted to introduce myself and get some input at the same time. Thanks in advance everyone. DDBrown
