  1. Atleast you have a good set of ballasts the gen 3 ones which hardly ever fail. Ok it is pretty much the same problem i had except mine wasn;t a jdm problem. Correct me if i am not understanding you but , the tabs match but the bulb will not go deep enough to allow you to turn and lock them into place with a 90degree turn ,right? I am guessing it is a problem with the opening on the actual projector not being wide enough to allow the base to fit. One option is to shave the inside of the base off slightly to allow it to seat where it was hitting before. Another is to use longer screws and some washers to allow those 3 screws to sit further back giving you enough room to turn the bulbs with no problem . This is basically giving you more gap to play with, it might get tricky as you need enough to clear but not too much or it will be loose.
  2. You are going about checking things backwards and spengin more money on things than you need too. If you have a problem it is reccomened you always post in the original thread and not start a new one ,this creates a consistant flow of information to follow for possibilities. If i remember right you had one side flickering on/off. First thing you should have done is switch the bulbs left/right. This eliminates them if the problem doesn't switch sides. If it did then change A bulb. If it doesn't then get a new ballast and ignitor. To replace the ballast you need to remove the headlight as it is mounted under it . To get the headlight out you need to remove the front bumper. It is an easy job but a pain in the !Removed! as i have already had to do it for one car already ,which also involved seperating the harness from the wires to feed it back into place on the headlight housing to reinstall
  3. What? Do realise how little sense what you wrote makes?
  4. which one of the xenon depot sets do you have? I had a problem similar to yours on the kit i made for my civic using d2r bulbs. I had to shave the small round part of the base so the collar/aluiminum base sat further back . If you can find a pic on the web like at www.hidforum.com and do a ms paint job on it to so the exact spot i might be able to give you a better idea.
  5. I bought the HP ipaq system for my 5500. It uses the navtec software so basically the same as every other OEM car like Lexus,Acura and BMW as the list goes on. I have a bluetooth gps module for it as well as microsoft streets and maps but i have never used it yet. I lvoe the car ,my wife is not fond of it but likes it. She is stuck on getting a GS which is what i originally wanted to buy. All she tells me is when are we going to flip it. Personally after the past week i want to keep it for a long time. She can get a GS later on if i find a nice spectra mica blue 98-99 in mint shape for a good price as well.
  6. If i belived in ever buying a new car off a lot ,i would get the card. I would rather take the hit somewhere else besides instant depreciation. I wonder what the card looks like. DO not post a pic of your card though for security reasons. LOL
  7. Moving it to the LS section from the GS one.
  8. Thanks guys, What is funny the car is pretty clean inside, just the reflections through the camera show small specks on the interior mats and leather. I never noticed it is in the pic ,since it isn't in the car. I never use the headlight washers on my ES since the car is always clean and they would only make it dirty anyway. Just look at the ES in the pic and think it got washed about 1 month ago. It sits in the garage and especially now since i have a new toy. All our Canadian cars have had DRL's since 1990 as law , so it was no option for our cars. Yes i cleared the corners, it was so annoying compared to the ES which i have taken the front lights apart X2 and the rears once. This stanly set is totaly different in build since it does not use silicone but an epoxy which can only break apart not release with heat. I cracked the lenses and sealed them back so it is not as noticable but i want to replace them anyway and do it all over again but better. By then i should have some tower LED bulbs to fill them out perfectly.
  9. Ok ,without a pic it is going to be hard to know exactly what you are saying. First who makes the ballasts and bulbs? What kind of retro base are you using , a prebased bulb or an aluminum glue on base? The tip of the bulb is hitting something? ot the inside of the 9006base is hitting something? Do you have a pic by chance?
  10. I will be spending some more time over here now. I just bought this car last week and have already gone to New Jersey last weekend. It is amazing and so smooth but rolls like hell in corners. The gas milage is not that bad ,it takes $70 to fill with premium and i get about 600km a tank so far. It actually took me 8 hours to Jersey on 3/4 of a tank so about $50. I think it will be a toy for me shortly even if it is for my wife. Already have an L-sportline exhaust and am probably going to get the kit also. Someone else has some JIC suspension locally and then just some rims and it will be done. Have a wood shifter on the way and possible a steering wheel to match. Also got new Lexus mats to freshen up the interior. It is a rare colour for me as i have never seen an LS that looks silver but with a hint of green. It is called silver jade mettalic or something. Already changed the HVAC filter witht eh most expensive filter hta homedepot sells rather than waste the money on the LEXUS oem one. CLeaned the maf and seafoam in the gas for the ride home. Other than that have not done a thing and i doubt i will as it is a dealer maintained car with 250 000km for some cars that is alot but this baby doesn;t even show it. Their is not even one leak under it. Only issues are it Needs a new left outer taillight R side mirror as the dimming section has fogged Some new corners to reclear. Well here is some pics
  11. My 98 does not have it either. I do not like the key hold thing as it works but if the car cuts off for some reason you need to completly turnt he key back to get the starter to engage again.
  12. It will work. Did you try undoing the 3 screws holding the bulb sockets and switching them with your old lights?
  13. I love JDM cars that one has vent visors sidemarkers factory navagation/tv wood wheel dash and shifter airpurifier adjustable suspension power folding mirrors
  14. check the thread i made a wile back with filters you can use and places to order them online
  15. the tumbler is screwed. I think someone else had the problem on another car and had to get a locksmith. you could try lubing the cylinder with the key in to loosesn the dirt holding the tumblers.
  16. they should have told you that before as it completly defeats the purpose of a remote starter to deactivate the factory alarm
  17. It is from compressor lock up and the a/c system shuts down.
  18. Sounds like a plugged valve body causing the tranny to stay in the wrong gears. A flush(tranny service) and an external filter is you best bet
  19. It is opening a bypass valve for you pressing the brake pedal and getting stuck. Get the filter and leave the spirited drivesto the way side for a few weeks. The mechanical whinign noise is from the metal in the tranny not getting full fluid flow. Add the external filter and clean the old one inside the tranny and you will probably never have to take it out again. Just keep changing the external one.
