  1. First and most important what do you want to do with the car.
  2. now if anyone who has a problem searches before asking this is worth its weight in gold as a start .
  3. Masts are about $30-$40 from a toyota /lexus dealer, i always prefer oem espeically with that stpuid nylon thread that breaks if the mast is damaged or dirty
  4. Just a thought ,do you have the car parked on an incline and do you use your parking brakes?
  5. A local upholstery shop can usually do great work in a car. The nice thing is if it is only the outer or inner parts of the seats that are damaged you can get inserts added for cheap and give it an audi ish 2 tone interior which looks amazing if the right hues of colours are used.
  6. I am assuming the acid spilt and broke down the glue which has the fibres falling out? Other wise if it is just stained you can get it redyed after steam cleaning it.
  7. Put some saran on top of your film :)
  8. To convert to HID's you need one set only not 3. Having all 3 sets hid is over kill and also proves to work worse by not having ample low wavelength light in bad weather. www.hidforum.com is you best bet for HID queries and types and what not to buy. A good kit is $300 and will plug and play in 10 minutes and it only used for the low beams only
  9. You are welcome to use and learn from the forum. But by making any profit , even one offset by a loss it is still a transaction. That is not allowed.
  10. Using the A/C in any car will lose milage no matter what the year. Auto is always going to give better gas mileage.
  11. You got a bad alternator or wire for sure. A bad alternator can also help destroy a battery that was once good very quickly
  12. You do have to remove the whole thing. All the aftermarket ones look like crap as they are akward looking,.
  13. It is usually the rear main seal or the rear valve cover. let your mechanic look closely at those 2 points as the exhaust runs under the engine and can hide a small leak.
  14. Sounds like too much coffe and coke has dripped down and seized the solenoid that releases the park lock for the shifter
  15. Thank you for pointing that out DC
  16. I prefer to replace all the tires in one shot and always the same type and models. For snows you should always place them on the rears if only getting 2 even thought it would make sense for them to be on the driving wheels up front on a front wheel drive car.It helps keep the car straight on snow and ice under braking. I would prefer to put the old ones out back to burn them up faster and replace with the same as the fronts later
  17. I used shout actually but simple green works just as well. Don't use too much or you will be sitting their forever removing the soap. To remove the seat fabric it is easier than you think ,it takes all of about 4 minutes especially once the seats are out. To remove it start at the back of the seat where the back and the seat meet, recling the back forward and their is a small fold of fabric , pull it up and the hogpins are held their .Now cut them off using a sheetmetal cutter or something of that caliber. Slowly pull up the fabric once you remove the head rest and undo the screw for its retainer. There should be a few more hog pins to undo with springs holding the lumbar to the fabric . That is it . To reinstall use small zip ties instead of hogpins since they are much easier to get in and tighten.
  18. looks just like my car but darker
  19. Do not replace them with the same taiwan crap ones. Try hidplanet for a good deal on hid's stuff as i find xenon depot a rip off and i am in the saem city as them. Personally i would keep the 2 ballasts you have which are the best imo then get 2 oem d2s bulbs for about $80 for a pair. Get 2 aluminum bases you can reuse $25 2 phillips oem wiring harnesses from the ballast to the bulbs which have a large red end.$20 like this one which uses this bulb So for around $140 for the first set you can continue using the oem grade bulbs which last long and are cheap as well as readily available on ebay which is where i got all these pics.
  20. The saran wrap naturally sticks If you have a well waxed bumper than add a touch of clear packing tape to the ends to secure it.
  21. Knocking can be from lots of problems like what grade gas do you use what kind of oil how often is the maintance done. last timing belt change last decarbonization
  22. Or buy a new mast from toyota. If the nylon cord is broken inside the motor you probably need to remove the motor and make sure no debris is inside it before you reinstall a new mast and end up jamming it from having too much cord.
