  1. Here is a pair of d2r bulbs that someone tried to rebase but must have gotten scared and stopped halfway, it basically need the rest of the housing broken to be removed and the rings/bases sit right on with some epoxy. Here is a pair of bulbs for example of them both with new babses added to them ,the left is 9006 the right is H4 bases added to D2 bulbs. Here is another angle for veiwing. Here is the bulbs you have which are from taiwan and do not usually last very long.(keep your receipt) If you still got more questions go to . www.hidplanet.com
  2. their is a thread in the workshop tutorials
  3. No , d2r/d2s they are HID bulbs with the OEM bases or pins. All oem cars use one of these 2 bulbs for their HID's other than a few germans trying to get fancy. D2"S" is for "Sheilded" or a projector. D2"R" is for a "Reflector" headlight like a 97-2000 ES. These bulbs are nothign like the halogen bulbs ,basically it is the same hid bulbs you have but without any wires just a direct socket on them. I'll see if i can find an ebay link for an example.
  4. Oh yah cover your asss Neil by saying they look like crap but mine are ok looking. LMAO I am only kidding. I never thought of it but they do stick out on lighter colours. BTW i see you got new avatar and sig.
  5. I did the same with my civic awhile ago . I pulled the seats out and also the carpets. I removed the hog pins from all the seats and put the cloth in the washing machine , it turned out beutiful after. I then took the carpet ,soaked it with degreaser and power washers the !Removed! out of it . Now my 1989 civic smells and looks way better inside
  6. If you pull the shifter down to "1" is their not 2 black plugs that you can pop off with 2 allan head screws to be removed?
  7. Only buy your teenage son an S2000 if you don't want him to come home one night. That unfortunatly is the truth and bottom line. Experiance and judgment is something a new driver cannot have ,combine this with testosterone and 100hp per litre and that is more than a deadly combination. I love the S2000 ( i would rather have the Volvo 850 turboR canary yellow and 18 inch graphite rims in a wagon). But it is totally impractical for a young driver. A suburu impreza wrx is safer (not the STI, it is too fast) without being blindingly fast and uncontrollable.
  8. When going on a long trip take some saran wrap and wrap your front bumper hood and mirrors. Once you arrive peel it right off and the bugs are gone instantly. It is cheap and simple and cannot be see once applied unless closley looked at but at 60 mph who is looking closly at your bumper except the bug about to be splattered. The 3m stuff works well for a clear bra but it is not made to peel layers off of it. Another option is to wax the front end well. It make the bug fall off once you hit a power washer. Also when using a power washer ,spray from an angle almost paralell to the bumper and slowly use the pressure to skim the bumper. It will remove all the large bug parts then a basic bug/tar wipe which comes in a ready to use pack of towels can be used for a quick wipe down. After going to New Jersey last week i had the same problem, luckly it only took me 5 minutes to remove the bugs since i just waxed the front end and had the wipes at the washer.
  9. You could get the aluminum bases like i have for my civic which are used to mount d2r/d2s oem bulbs to a 9006 housing. Since it sits forward anyway it will have enough room to mount. This way you have the space and can shave the 9006 tabs to match the housing you have now. It will leave the other tabs behind it but shuold fit easy enough and only $20.
  10. I know the pain in the !Removed! it is to pull the lights apart but if they are fresh they will open even easier withouth an oven. The worst part is if you do not fix them now then what do you do when you need bulbs anyway?
  11. Thanks again. I have an ES also which will not part my side for life. This is an addition to the gang i have. And yes i cleaned my maf and TB like i do with all of them with an oil change. It is part of periodic maintance for me and i never have had an issue with any car. The colour is hard to catch through a lens , I will try my 4 meg camera later on with some better setups besides my driveway.
  12. Don;t worry you aren't frustrating , atleast not yet. :)
  13. The price for replacing the lines would be $50 but you will have to flush the fluid for air after install so add another $100
  14. You rotors are warped 100%. Do not machine them to make them true again as it will only warp faster.
  15. You should remove the console cover to acess it but if you spray some lube down their it might loosen it ,bnut the car may smell funny for a bit
  16. SHould be a button for suspension position or dynamics ,not sure where it is on your but it can usually found by the shifter
  17. It can be either the shift lock or the brake light switch. I would clean the shift lock first if the brake lights are working properly.
  18. If you sell it ,let me know although the bulbs are crappy since they aren't phillips. Have you thought of switching the actual projectors but useing the JDM housing and lens? This way you can keep the additional bulb under the signal, with the wiring for them and still have the proper aiming and bulbs which are available.
  19. Probably a bad brake light switch. Did you add anythign like a remote starter?
  20. Thanks and i know too much about the S class to ever buy one. Even if i love to drive the S55 which is an amazing motor but would never own one.
  21. I would say $1000 more for coach deepending on if it is kept well. If it is of basic condition then nothing more. I bought my 98 and i love it, vvt-i ,5 spd tranny, hid's are all a definate improvement for one year.
  22. Either a short ,or the buckle is messed up. It may be dirty.
