  1. Congrats on your new car...i'm sure its an awesome ride. Look forward to seeing the pics.
  2. Same here. After seeing so many NICE sporty IS & GS at lexfest, I want to get one of those when I'm in a mood for some fun driving. But for everyday cruising, nothing beats a ride of an LS.
  3. 22mpg is a pritty good mpg. I usually top off at 21 on hwy and stay near 19 with mixed city/hwy driving. I've changed the plugs, wires, air filter, cleaned fuel injectors and checked tire pressure to be at 29. From what I've read on other posts some people get close to 30 mpg...don't know what they're doing to get that. To answer your question, the most I've gone with an orange light is 30 miles. I wonder whats the max it can go.
  4. I would love to have them for my 1st gen, but I doubt they would make for those.
  5. Welcome back. Sorry to hear about your losses. I still have the 94ls that I've had for almost 8 years now with ~240k miles. Still loving it and it drives as good as new.
  6. You can't go wrong with MXV4s. They're very smooth with great handling capability. I've replaced mine everytime with those and love them.
  7. Thanks for the info and the tip. As much as it seems tempting to use the Toyota synthetic, I think I'll stick with OEM specs too.
  8. I would say keep it. 8000 miles on an LS is nothing....it's almost like a brand new car. Why sell it and pay more for Avalon which is a step lower than what you have?
  9. Thanks for the write up. Is it necessary to lift the front wheels off the ground to turn the steering?
  10. The lexus dealer near me doesn't carry gear lube and the guy wan't helpful at all to tell me what type I need. Toyota dealer carries the synthetic kind. I asked them if they carry non-synthetic, he asked me that they carry different types and if my car (94 LS) has limited slip differential?? That threw me off and I didn't really knew what I really need so I came back. If someone know what exactly goes in there, please let me know so I can ask for that type. Thanks.
  11. I was wondering what is the hauling capacity for 94LS400. If there are 5 passengers with an average weight of 200lbs, will my car be ok with it? Plus I also need to put some luggage in the trunk which will probably be around 60-70lbs. I have recently gotten new struts and control arms put in, but I notice that the car goes down quite a bit in the back when there are 3 full size passengers sitting (but there is no rubbing). Would you advice not to take this car for a long trip with that much weight? Otherwise I'll take the other car and not take any chances with my lexus. Thanks.
  12. Yeah, I'm reluctant to do anything that I will regret later. It seems ok for right now...could be better...but I guess its part of aging :)
  13. I'm considering painting the front grill black because it is a bit faded. I'm going to take it out and spray paint it. Hopefully taking out the front grill is an easy task. What kind of spray paint do you recommend? Is there any particular one that's for outside use that will handle the heat, moisture and withstand car washes? I don't want it to start peeling off and getting worse than how it is right now. Do you think it's worth taking a risk or should I keep it as it is. The grill is just showing its age, nothing major, so I thought maybe painting it may give it a newer fresh look. Thanks.
  14. RFeldes - thanks. Will look for that switch this evening. This morning however it didn't give any problem. I recall it happened few months back and didn't happen again till yesterday. In any case I want to get it fixed now. SK - Eating and drinking is not allowed in my car :~)
