Lexus dealers will install an Escort unit with two LEDs in the gauge cluster. Thats probably what it is. The Valentine one uses arrows that show what direction the radar is coming from. Agreed, what a deal! Does it work?

It shouldn't have a throttle cable LOL, your generation LS SHOULD be throttle by wire. Are you sure thats what you're looking at? What you're describing is normal, its the way the car is supposed to operate, all Lexus throttle by wire systems behave this way. Nothing you're going to be able to do about it. Running the car in ECT PWR mode helps...

Thats awesome! What do you do, strip the wood down and restain it? If you can perfect the process this will be ADORED by Lexus owners all over the country. Buying a Lexus is very frustrating because not every wood finish is availiable to every interior color. Very cool, if I had an LS I'd send you the wood, I'm sure somebody here will though...

But when batteries have sat that long in the cold their behavior can't always be predicted, then theres the possibility that he's misinterpreting the extent to which the engine is actually turning over. With the free replacement it seems to be the best place to start.

Sorry I missed this back when it was posted... I think what you're experiencing is sound in an SUV vs sound in a car. Its MUCH harder to install a good stereo in an SUV than in a car because of the increased interior volume and decreased mounting points (like having the put the subwoofers in the doors). The ML system is great in all the Lexus cars...

California cars are always less. I think it has to do with the amount of competition in California vs in the Northeast. Unfortunately thats how pricing works, supply and demand.

If the battery is REALLY dead then it won't even take a charge, so using the booster battery or jump starting it off another car won't do any good. What was the last time the battery was replaced? I agree with JPI, the battery decharged sitting out in the cold.

It could be a wheel bearing starting to go bad... Definately sounds like you've got a not so hot dealer. Generally you shouldn't feel anything different after a maintenance because the maintenance is preventative, they're not replacing anything that has changed the way the car behaves.

Rattle in back doors of 2002 ES300

Stuff like that is always the place to start, but the 02-04 ES definately has a problem with the sound deadening causing a rear door rattle. -
I'd still prefer #00 steel wool just to be safe rather than an SOS pad... ;)

You dont want to use an SOS pad, they're too abrasive. #00 steel wool is fine, but I wouldn't touch the windows with an SOS pad. -
I have the Magic Eraser but haven't used it on the cars yet, what makes the eraser work, some sort of detergent?

Where Should I Wash My Car During The Winter?

As long as you dont dry your car or use that brush, a touchless wash or a spraydown at a self service bay is better then letting it be dirty. I do however reccomend a product called Protect All Quick and Easy Wash. You can was you vehicle anywhere with just a gallon of water, a wash mitt and a towel. Sounds unbelieveable, but it works well. Check it out at www.protectall.com -

It drives beautifully, but IMO it drives very similar to the way the LS always has (which is superb). The real things not to look at are the styling and the features ;)
