  1. Hey, I tired searching the site about what is the size of the battery and couldn't find it. Can someone tell me the size of there battery?
  2. Cool guys. :D I just read some posts that they do; so, I thought maybe it is a Lexus thing or something. But thats great that we got it squared away. Now, I just need to search around to see what battery the key takes.
  3. What kind of car was it? The 12 second one.
  4. Yup, you are right. I guess this is where professionally done vs. nonprofessionally[or rookie] done comes in to. There is a show on MTV, don’t watch it often, there is a show called “Pimp my ride” where the “West Coast Customize” cheese up peoples old, broken up cars. And, they do a very very detailed job without nearly going over the board. And, also on big shows, where concept cars are reviled; where big companies hook up a car for promotional use and they aren’t really going over board neither.
  5. To some extent, these Lexuses are not built to look like that, so sure laugh at them and have a good time. Now, the IS, you can see that Lexus was giving you a hint of: hey there is a car that you can ‘trick out’ because it already is a very little when it comes out the factory. Cars that are built and portrait to be ‘ticked out’ you can’t laugh at them, unless they have something hilarious on them. Same analogy: Buying a near-luxury car that does not offer leather, one puts aftermarket leather in. Is that funny? Are you going to laugh at them because they made their car more luxurious?
  6. Roundish? Yeah of course Boxy? Observe the car from the back, not from the sides. The new redesigned version came out in 2002. Now, obliviously it’s not going to look like a box with sharp edges, like an old caprice. But if you look at the older ESs, they don’t give you a sense of boxy ness. Care enough to have an opinion? How does carelessness correlate with opinion? Opinion is like Energy; can’t create it nor destroy it. Either you have Kinetic (energy of motion) or Potential (stored energy). Or more like an attitude either positive or negative. I believe that each car should be unique in its own way. I would not want to have a car that is built as a replica of a more luxurious, larger, etc….car. I want and want my things to be a leader not a follower. After the introduction of IS, I that saw that there was not enough luxury in it. So, my prognosis was that ES would serve as the middle man and be both. Luxury as well as Sporty; well if Lexus feels that they have covered the sporty ness with the IS and obviously luxury with the LS and gave the “middle man” title to the GS; makes me wonder; why is ES still on the assembly line.
  7. I’m guessing that their aim was to make a tricked out beast. By seeing all of these small ticked out Civics the LS would look like a beasts, very scary. But these cars are not made to look like that. What is happening to the human race!!!!!!!
  8. Good to hear. :D When was the last time you changed the battery?
  9. This looks like a good place to ask this. :D . How do you check if you have an old tire? please. I don't have a tire pressure guage at home, are the expensive onces better than the cheap onces; my question is that is there a way that if I get a crappy one, that it will give me the wrong readings? Or are all of them the same? humm........never thought about the spare. I hope I never encounter it neither; since I never changed a tire myself, but saw my dad do it several times when I was a kid. My post reminded me of the movie: ‘A Christmas Story,’ the part where the family is coming back after purchasing the tree and they have a flat tire on the way back. And, Ralph goes out to helps his dad and his dad accidentally hits the bowl that Ralph was holding and the nuts fly everywhere and Ralph says: “fudddgggggggge” except that it was the real word. LOL.
  10. Have fun!!!!!!!!!!!! http://www.cureline.net/lex/photos/other_l...celsors_137.jpg http://www.cureline.net/lex/hall_of_shame.htm
  11. Wrong forum, this is SCs place. Your local Lexus dealer can provide you with one. You can also get one from www.lexus.com but I don't know if they are free nor the registration.
  12. Thanks for the extra quick feedback Richard. I asked my father, we bought the 1996 Camry used in 2000 and installed the security system after a week of purschase. So, the battery was already old and after 4 years we haven't changed it since. The security system probably works like the Lexus one since it has a remote. If so, then it is true that it drains the battery; by comparing it with the Camry.
  13. I read couple of posts saying that if you turn on the Remote system ON, you are going to drain the battery, in other words: Turning on the Remote system, will take a lot of battery power? We had an aftermarket security system with unlock/lock system installed in our Camry 4 years ago, and there is no sign of the system eating the battery, or using it a lot that we have to change it. I don’t even know if my Dad even changed it. I want to use my Remote system in my Lexus. I know that it only works if you are with in 3 feet of the car, but I’m getting tired of locking and unlocking it with the key.......3 reasons because 1. I’m just lazy. :P 2. Don’t want to scratch the car with the key . 3. Don't want to show that Lexus does not have a remote [in the parking lot]. Help me out here.
  14. Sure is. Actually, won't you be more likely to sell it; so, you can get the one's that you sit behind, in the event. If I sat behind a 2004 LS430, I would want to sell my Gen.1 and get the 2004 one instead of keeping it. ____________________________________________________________________ Like, philbe1 said, this is an opinion; but when I first saw the SC I realy realy realy wanted it. Out of all the cars [not including the SUVs] that Lexus offers as of now, I would get the SC for sure. If $ was a concern then I would have to flip a coin between the GS & SC. ____________________________________________________________________ Exterior: The styling of the new ES; I think that it has lost a little of its sporty ness look. Performance and handling wise= can’t say [never drove it]. From the back, it looks like an Avalon, meaning boxy looking; but the taillights bring back the sporty ness. The front, well, all the cars of 2004, have the head lights pulled back [as if someone is pulling back & up their eyes]. Over all, it has a more of a boxy look now. The interior: My rating 1 being the worst and 10 being the best. ES=15. Sorry Steve, but I think that all of the modifications that Lexus have done to all of its 2004 or 03 models get a A++++ from me. But the ES, well…..just needs to be redesigned a bit to give its old sporty ness look.
  15. http://us.lexusownersclub.com/stickers.htm Got it from Steve, SW03ES's signature.
  16. Man, can't wait to see mods on those beasts.
  17. I'm sorry to hear that Dave, I know exactly how you feel, I don't know what I'll do without my Lex.
  18. I just registered at Lexus.com; and the car color is: SILVER TAUPE.
  19. I look at cars on ebay like 3-5 times a day. But I don't know how it works. My parents don't want me to buy anything online. People buy cars off ebay, without test driving it or physically looking at it.
  20. what does the JDM taillights look like? The ones that come stock look as if they are modified already!
  21. You just read my mind, I was going to place an exact post. :D
  22. Yeah, they are different. The reason why I did not want to place a post in the pinned one because there is so many other stuff on their. I was quoted by Jim Walker on a 90-92 LCD for $115 (without shipping nor installation; shipping = $15 & intallation =$15) back in February or early March of this year. He said that he won't have any for 93-94 until June.
  23. We have tons of pictures in the LOC gallery; that even show detailed parts of the interior as well as the exterior.
