  1. Hi, Invest a few $$$$ in one of these http://repairbooks.co.uk/blog/lexus-ls430-manual/
  2. Hi, What color is the smoke? If it is white it is normally the IAC valve on the PS pump that has failed, most people remove the valve and plug the hole and the 2 pipes to the intake manifold. What part/sensor did you replace? Link below ( last picture/description ) explains better. http://www.lexls.com/tutorials/steering/pspumpremoval.html
  3. Hi, Model years from 1990 to Oct 1994 have the same part # 85035 85341-50010-?? (?? depends on the color required). The later models have a different part # so should be different and therefore not fit.
  4. Hi, It looks like the OEM Lexus rims are 18x7.5J Offset is 45 tires are 225/40/18. You would really need to put your present tire size into one of the tire size calculator websites to see if the rolling radius is correct with the above rim/tire combination.
  5. Welcome to the LOC. This topic has been covered many times and a search will provide you with the information required but as you are a new member follow the link below, the job is not easy and will take around 6 hours with all the correct tools and parts. http://www.lextreme.com/starter.html
  6. Hi and welcome to the LOC. You are correct in that the power to both seats comes from a common source, did this fault occur when or shortly after you made seat adjustments? The seat control unit is mounted under the seat and this normally means removing the seat to gain access but have a feel underneath 1st just in case a wiring loom plug has come out or give the loom a shake whilst operating one of the buttons to see if there is an intermittent connection. The seat belt warning system amongst others is fed off a different fuse so I would look for that loose plug and socket under the seat 1st
  7. Hi, They sometimes come up on eBay but there are non at the moment, did find this though http://cgi.ebay.com/LEXUS-LS400-1990-1994-Factory-Service-Manual-CD-/170548325120?pt=BI_Books_Manuals&hash=item27b578eb00#ht_3157wt_1141
  8. Hi, I can't understand why you cannot find the negative battery terminal Loads on Ebay http://shop.ebay.com/i.html?_nkw=car+battery+terminals&_sacat=0&_odkw=battery+terminals&_osacat=0&_trksid=p3286.c0.m270.l1313
  9. Hi, Could be a fuse or a circuit breaker, on the LS400 there is an engine compartment fuse box and another behind the drivers footwell kick panel,do you not have an owners manual as all the details should be in there.
  10. In the same drivers side kick panel fuse boxthere are 3 circuit breakers above the fuses one of which may have tripped. To reset make sure the ignition is off then carefully insert a thin object such as a toothpick, needle or safety pin into the hole on top of the breaker, gently push until you hear a click this means it has been reset. Turn on the ignition and see if the applications affected now operate,if they do you're done but if the breaker trips again you will have to delve further into the wiring loom.
  11. Sorry assy = assembly I thought it was a worldwide term even Lexus official part lists use the term.
  12. There is a tutorial on www.lexls.com for the front door panel removal the rear should be similar.
  13. Follow the tutorial pictures 1 thru 4 then with a wide flat blade ease the ashtray assy out. ( no screws just spring clips hold it in place) Once removed you may be able to see the problem and repair it or find a replacement. http://www.lexls.com/tutorials/audio/headunit.html
  14. Lexus describe the part as "Arm Assy Upper Control Rear" Part # 48790-50010 (LH) and 48770-50010 (RH). Part #s based on a 1994 LS400 US Specification. Like the front upper control arms the ball joint is not replaceable separately and the whole arm assy is needed.
  15. Hi and welcome to the LOC, there seems to be a common problem here but have a read of the link below http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/index.php?showtopic=69249&pid=733645&st=0entry733645
  16. The link below may explain things or you can email them with specific questions, this company does a lot of Lexus alignments in the UK http://www.blackboots.co.uk/tech-camberbasics.php
  17. Above post was not helpful -- It was for another brand of car that was unlike my setup. Sorry I tried to help you. here is a picture of the sender if that will help you. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/90-94-Lexus-LS400-fuel-level-sensor-sender-/270631169527
  18. Hi, Not sure if it is the same but this may help you, http://soarercentral.com/sc-forum/messages/51/265.html?1098762938
  19. HI, Yes it is so if the belt does break there is no damage valve to piston contact, the later VVTI engines are however interference types. Sorry cannot help with values I'm over the Pond.
  20. Hi, Could well be a dirty/noisy electrical track connection on the throttle position sensor, if you switch the overdrive off and maintain the same speed does the problem disappear?
  21. Hi, Sorry for the late reply have been on vacation. There is a known defect with the ride height sensors on these models and also the sensor adjuster link arms can seize or break,so remove the wheels and have a look for any broken or seized arms before condemning the dampers.

  23. Hi, Look in your owners manual which should give the lamp type and then have a look on ebay, you can normally get LED replacements that never fail.
  24. It took me that long to get the split pin and nut off the joint! Then after breaking my screw type separator I had to resort to to hammer in type,it took a little longer than 10 minutes.
