  1. SLOW day at work! :chairshot: :chairshot: ! ...I worked at 2 car dealerships when I was in high school detailing cars...this really brings back some memories...allot of the salesman in the winter always came back to the wash-bay to smoke and drink coffee and shoot the sh*T. This was a good read!
  2. Well...on my RX I have inputs in the back so I can hook up VCR/or Playstation...you can always hook a tuner up to a VCR and well then you would have your TV. I have the DVD in the back, so you may not have the inputs...I am not sure?
  3. I kind of scrolled right past it and then when I went back I was like :o ....thought it was a glove... :D
  4. Maybe...ask the elephant in your trunk to see if it is coming out while you are driving! J/K! :D Hahaha...okay, that did make me laugh. I'll ask him. SORRY! I had to do it!
  5. Maybe...ask the elephant in your trunk to see if it is coming out while you are driving! J/K! :D
  6. Maybe because it lowers the back of the car and decreases the wind resistance????? Not sure but it is interesting! :D
  7. :D :D I love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I quite enjoy listening to all of their B.S. I start asking questions and they are like well I will have to find out...(come right back) "find out...what you do not know..." I find the car I want...(do not even talk about figures with me)...then after I have found the car lets see what the best deal...and then it is on! I will have the Salesman...finance guy...sales manager to come out to me at least 2x then I start to tell them we are getting some where! I love when they ask "where do you want the payments to be" I am always like is that a joke..."Free" or better yet "don't you want us to make any money off of this"..."hmm...not really" My Lexus salesman was great...his name was Seth and I have referred people to him at Sheehy Lexus...and I would buy from him again... :D :D :D LOL The last car buying or I should say leasing experiance I had was loads of fun...my wife almost did not even go with me to get her car! She wanted to pick out the car and go home...let me do the dealing...it takes me hours! I have started even getting her into it though...when we found her new car...after about 3 1/2 hours of my best work...we had got hung up over $900.00...I was not going to bend...I am not sure if she just wanted to go home or what...but she told the SM if you won't do it for him...do it for me! Ha, gonna have to bring her with me more often...the SM tapped me on the shoulder said "Well since she asked" Dropped the price! B) B) :D :D :D
  8. Glad you made out OK!!! I will drink a couple for you!
  9. WOW! That is a great dealership...NO CHARGE... :o
  10. I read this on a MB forum...and well it is funny! Make sure to look close at the Pictures and read all the JOKES! http://www.my350z.com/forum/showthread.php?t=208462 :D :D :D :D :D

  12. Funny!!! :D If I lived that close I would drive my car there too!!!
  13. Congrats on the new car! Here you go here is a link that has what you want........ http://www.lexus-parts.com/partlist.asp?Su...&ModelID=45
  14. I do not like other people driving my car either but...I am not anywhere near a Lexus Dealership...the closest one is over 2 hours away. The advantage for me is that I am not spending over half of my day away from work...they bring me a car at my home ( before I leave for work )...and pick me up at work! For me it is just a matter of convenience...All of the Lexus Drivers that have come to pick me up are at least 50 -55 years old very professional looking...I request the same driver each time (and if he is available I get him) and I think he treats my car just like it was his own...why push mine hard...when he has a brand new one to drive every day? I will admit I am pretty hard on the loaner that they bring me...If he pushes mine to hard and screws something up guess they will have to fix it! When the warranty is up...I will more than likely get a new car anyway...I have more confidence in him driving my car then the Tech that takes my car out for a test drive...at the dealership. At least I have seen him he is clean, clean cut, good grammar, and presents himself very well...the mechanic that I do not see that does the service may or may not be the same and he test drives the car. Sorry I am just not that worried about them driving my car...it is not a high school senior on a summer job driving my car! And besides...they pick up SC's all of the time around where I live...why would they want to push a RX? If I lived closer to the dealership I may take my car...or I may still use the pick up service? :D :D :D :D :D I do understand not wanting anyone else to drive your car...I just do not have time to take it there for the service...
  15. The loaner did not have the NAV...but my Boss has a 06 GX and the new Nav is in that and it is much better than mine...oh well! Gives me something to work hard for! :D
  16. Have it done by a professional. Does your insurance cover all glass ? Personally I would replace the windshield with OEM product. ;) I had a small rock chip in my window! Got it repaired and you really have to know where to look for it to see anything at all! Most insurance companies do not count small comp claims against you...and again most companies...if your windshield can be repaired they will even waive your deductible if you have one. As DC said I would not fool with the kits...get it fixed by a Glass Shop! But get it fixed before it spreads...if it spreads then you will have to get a new windshield! :D
  17. Sucks!!!!! :chairshot: :chairshot: :chairshot: :chairshot: Just had a guy come into our office and he has a new Toyota Truck...looks like a Box Truck hit him...$2,500 estimate! We had him contact the Store that he was at, to look at the surveillance tapes...but unfortunately he was parked in a area that was not covered by the camera...he filed a police report and turned it in on his policy...$250.00 deductible in MD...Not sure about NY but I would imagine you might not want to file it! Sorry about the bad luck!
  18. WELL......................I have to admit...I have a RX350 today as a loaner and I have to agree that the RX350 is "too powerful"...and I agree that the pedal is sensitive to say the least...the transmission in the loaner I have does seem to kind of have that not sure what gear to go into! But I think the improved power is a huge plus...for the most part smooth ride...I have put about 150 miles on it and I have to say I love my RX330 but I am liking the RX350...they better come pick this thing up...or at least put some more gas in it!!! LOL :D :D :D :D :D :D
  19. This is what a PUP policy is...your dad may want to consider one? Personal umbrella liability insurance is designed to protect you against a catastrophic lawsuit or judgment. It provides expanded coverage and increases the amount of your liability protection beyond the basic coverage provided under your homeowners/renters and auto insurance policies. Unlike other types of liability coverage, personal umbrella liability insurance can be purchased as a separate policy. However, your insurer will require that you have underlying basic liability coverage (homeowners/renters insurance, auto insurance, or both) before you can purchase an umbrella liability policy. If you are found to be legally responsible for injuring someone or damaging someone's property, the umbrella policy will either pay the part of the claim in excess of the limits of your basic liability coverage, or pay for certain losses not covered by your basic personal liability insurance. Why do you need it? Standard homeowners policies usually provide $100,000 to $300,000 worth of liability coverage. As well as the fact that most states now require you to carry auto insurance with minimum liability coverage (which varies from state to state). It is possible to purchase additional liability coverage under these policies, but amounts may be limited. In today's society, it's not unusual to hear of $1-million, $2-million, and even $10-million liability judgments against individuals. If someone is injured in your home, or if you cause a serious auto accident, you could be hit with such a judgment. Without a personal umbrella liability policy, anything beyond the liability coverage limits of your homeowners/renters or auto insurance policy will have to come out of your pockets. How does it work? Personal umbrella liability insurance supplements the basic liability coverage provided by your other insurance--it's designed to kick in when your other liability coverage is tapped out. Depending on the type of claim against you, your homeowners, renters, auto, or boat insurance coverage would be utilized first. Once the basic liability limit under the applicable policy is reached, your personal umbrella liability policy covers the remaining costs, up to the policy limits. For this reason, umbrella liability insurance usually carries a high deductible. Insurance companies typically require you to have homeowners/renters and auto liability insurance equal to the amount of your personal umbrella deductible. What does it cover? A typical personal umbrella liability policy provides the following protection, up to the coverage limits specified in the policy: Protection for claims of personal injuries or property damage caused by you, members of your family/household, or hazards on your property, for which you are found legally liable Personal liability coverage for incidents which occur on or off your property Additional protection above your basic auto policy for auto-related liabilities Protection against non-business-related personal injury claims, such as slander, libel, wrongful eviction, and false arrest Legal defense costs for a covered loss, including lawyers' fees and associated court costs What doesn't it cover? Personal umbrella liability insurance typically provides extremely broad coverage. Furthermore, if something is not expressly excluded from coverage, it is covered. Although exclusions can vary, the following are some items typically excluded from coverage: Intentional damage caused by you or a member of your family/household Damages arising out of business or professional pursuits Liability which you accept under the terms of a contract or agreement Liability related to the ownership, maintenance, and use of aircraft, nontraditional watercraft (jet skis, air boats, etc.), and most recreational vehicles Damage to property owned, used, or maintained by you (the insured) Damage covered under a workers compensation policy Liability arising as a result of war or insurrection How much should you buy? There is no exact science when it comes to determining the appropriate level of personal liability insurance coverage. You might think that you only need enough liability insurance to protect your assets, but this figure is practically irrelevant when deciding how much liability coverage you need. A large judgment against you could easily wipe out your assets and put your future earnings in jeopardy. Instead, consider factors such as how often you have guests in your home, whether you operate a home-based business, how much you drive, whether you have teen drivers in your home, and whether your lifestyle gives the impression that you have "deep pockets." Coverage limits vary, but a typical policy will provide $1 million to $10 million worth of liability coverage. Of course, as your coverage limit increases, the premium will also increase.
  20. LOL :D :D :D OK.... Young driver Full coverage high...sports car higher...SUV's depends on the SAFETY features... So many things can make a rate go up or down it is crazy...sometimes people replace a 1990 car with a 2006 and the premium goes down...safety features...sure the car would cost more to fix now but...the chances of someone in the car getting injured most of the time are much less... Most of the time the reason a SUV with a young driver would be more than the average car is there is potential for a greater loss! SUV's (most) can hold more people in it...mess up more than most cars...and yes even go off road...which can cause greater property damage... Here is a perfect example of one that would stump most people if I replaced my 2004 RX330 with a 2004 Chevy Cavalier (4banger) it would cost me about $50 more every (6) months than my RX330 AWD! Now who would have thought that it would cost more to insure a cavalier than a Lexus? The only thing that is cheaper(insurance wise) on the Cavalier is the COMP coverage...(Fire, Theft, Vandalism, Acts of God).... It just depends on the SAFETY features that a car has...my RX would cost at least 4 times what the cavalier would cost...but the insurance on a Cavalier would be $50 more? **POLICY QUOTE** Item 3: 2004 CAVALIER Points: 00 PGS: N Item COVERAGE LIMITS PREMIUMS AA Bodily Injury 100/300 133.14 BB Property Damage 100 Included DD Collision 500 DED 164.20 HH Comprehensive 50 DED 78.75 PD UM/Property Damage 100 Included SS UM/UIM Bodily Injury 100/300 18.50 VA Personal Injury Coverage VA01 12.65 Item No: 2004 RX330 CODE COVERAGES DEDUCTIBLES PL O LIMITS PREMIUMS PR AA Bodily Injry 100,000 / 300,000 $65.80 BB Prop Damage 100,000 $45.34 DD Collision 500 $133.52 HH Comp 50 $89.99 SS Uninsured BI 100,000 / 300,000 $18.50 Property Dmg 100,000 VA PIP 01 $8.89
  21. I do not have a GS...but as far as a Lexus in general...I would say "PUT YOUR DOG IN IT" J/K!!! I also have a 1997 Jeep that I keep to do all of the things that I do not want my Lexus or my wife's car taking part in...#1 WAL-MART! #2 DOG...#3 MULCH...and so on. Even when we take the dog in the Jeep I spend 30 minutes cleaning the inside back...can not stand a dirty car! I guess if you have a little dog it would not be so bad? I love my Lexus! There are even times after I spend all day cleaning it that I do not even want to take it out of the garage because it may rain! If you get a CPO Lexus then you will not have to worry about the parts or service until the warranty runs out...or you can buy an extended warranty...I am not sure how important the warranty is to you...but for me it is a definite... DECISIONS...DECISIONS... :D
  22. I just framed this on my wall! indiasfinest- Best thing that you can do is show your father that you are responsible. If he knows that you will be responsible and he can trust you he will more than likely come around on the subject. One other idea...that you could try... Tell him that you really want to get a car and that you would like to get a job to start saving some money up. Buy a old car that only needs liability insurance on it and that way it will not cost you too...much. That may make him think that you want to earn it...not just want it! Hope it all works out! :D
  23. YOUNG...DUMB...and STUPID! Well let see I was 16 years old when I bought my 1st car...Ford Probe...17 when I got my Mustang...and then not quite 18 when I got my 1st Jeep Wrangler! I guess you learn as you get older... by the way my 3rd and final ford was about 4 years ago when I bought a truck just to have as a beater. Ford Ranger supercab 4x4 v6. Truck had all service records and pretty low miles...after 2 years I had put as much money into it as I paid for it! My Jeep Cherokee that I have now took it's place...and I mean that it took its place. The only advantage I see having it, is that it is easy to work on parts are cheap! I like having it to go to Walmart and get mulch...take the dog etc... I never said Toyota was perfect...or any car manufacture was...but I am now on my 3rd Toyota / Lexus and my parents and other family members have had Toyotas for the past 10+ years... I agree with you 110%! The cars and trucks are priced to high to start with! Take..$10,000...off
  24. I won't say I will never buy another American made car...but I have said over and over that my Jeep that is in my driveway will be the last American made car that I will ever buy if things do not change. I think to keep it pretty simple...I am not satisfied with the quality of the cars that are being produced...from everything to Cadillacs to cobalts...Lincolns to focuses...maybe the new warranties that the American car manufactures will help. My grandfather always told me if you change the oil in her and keep the fluids filled she'll last you forever! :whistles: Well after my 3rd ford that had problems and my 1st Jeep that had problems I realized that the cars that the cars that he was talking about were not made by American car companies anymore...other companies Honda, Toyota...and other foreign companies now are making them! Just how I feel about it...gas mileage or not...warranty or not I will not buy another American made car until they start building some better quality cars. :D :D
  25. indiasfinest- There are many things that go into rating insurance. First off some companies use credit to put you in a tier, they also give discounts from everything from multi line, multi car, good grades, etc and so on...comparing insurance with someone else is not as easy as it sounds...different limits, coverage...when you have a young driver on a policy it is even that much harder. One of the biggest things is location. I would suggest asking your dad to call and get an "what if" quote on adding you to his policy...but to give you a guess on how much insurance would be on a GX you could be looking at anything from 1100 every 6 months or more...and that is just a guess in MD ( but most companies will assign you as a primary driver on a car and in some cases they do pick the most expensive or highest rated car on the policy ) That is important if you have more drivers than cars then you can be classified as a restricted driver meaning much much lower rates... Tell your dad to call his agent and ask him to explain the best way to get a decent rate...I always tell people to tell your kids to get good grades and do not get any tickets! And carry as high of a deductible as you can afford on collision. Good Luck... :D
