  1. ON DEMAND
  2. :D :D :D :D :D ROFLMAO
  3. I do not know what expectations you have for coverage/cost BUT I can assure you the $50 or so yearly cost for AAA has given the absolute biggest peace of mind possible. A whole lot of benefits for a cost that pays for itself with one towing. Right after getting AAA my RX300 completely died at a light, at night on a very busy 4 lane road... all power was lost so I couldnt even turn on the flashers... without AAA, I would have had to leave the vehicle and find a phone book to start calling tow trucks...figure out which had the capability of towing an RX300(usually put on a flatbed looking truck), how soon could they respond, the cost...determine where to take the vehicle...start calling on a rental...etc....all that was avoided and all that legwork done in 5 minutes...out of pocket cost? $0. Also, the shop the car was towed to deferred to the dealer so AAA again arranged for the vehicle to be transported to the dealer...my cost? $0. You can be stranded anywhere and they will get someone to you...lno hiking to a rest stop to call and beg the closest tow truck to drive 150 miles in the middle of the night to get you running...and to be quick about it...and that you do not expect to pay more than $50.... Lockouts, out of gas whatever...they even take care of you when not driving your own car... I'll get off the soapbox now =) I will have to 2nd that... I personally have Allstate Motor Club which depending on the package can range 50-155. This will cover any vehicle that I am driving...even if I don't own it....as said Flats, lockouts, battery, discounts, etc...all included. I have not used it my self...now my wife...2 times this year. Flat tire, fuel pump...towed to our choice of garage or theirs...echoed out of pocket $0. That has paid my membership for 4 years... The best thing about motor club plans are if you are traveling! Not sure who to call...all taken care of! :D
  4. What year is your car? I have 04RX boss has 06GX have not noticed it on either one of ours??? I would think that there would be a way to cut off the POI icon...is restaurants checked?
  5. I can top that! Wash, wax, vacuum, treat leather, clean inside windows, light treatment of Armorall on tires. What next? My wife picks up our 2 1/2 year old grand son and proceeds to feed him crackers while buckled into the seat. Did I mention I vacuumed? ;) Oh well, that is what grandkids are for. Gary FUNNY! I think my backseats combined the past 2 cars that I have had have been sat in a total of 3 times in about 4 years....always stays clean...but my wife has started to talk if you know what I mean I told her I would get another dog maybe even a cat!
  6. :cries: :cries: Hyundai :cries: :cries:
  7. Except almost every channel is commercial not commercial after commercial after commercial..... If it is not what I want to listen to it might as well be a commercial...or the DJ who is actually talking about something local... I am not saying it is a bad deal but I could careless about flipping through channel after channel to find a song that I want to hear... B)
  8. Are you still using the wireless transmitter? That's a good one too!! I have a Delphi wired XM modulator connecting my XM to the car stereo since there aren't really many other options than that for an old car like I have, but I am really, really pleased with. It was only like $30 too. How much $ is xm per month ? DC !!! (IMHO) I don't have XM and to be honest don't want it...I think it is about 13.00/month though....The only thing that I would want it for would be the NEWS...and I watch that too much now! I have heard that a lot of people like it but I am not sold on it yet!!! It is still a someone else picking the music that is played...it is not like you can pick the songs...so what you have more channels to flip through... :chairshot: :chairshot: It would have been cool when I was 16 and was in my car all of the time!
  9. If my brakes only last 9k on my CPO...I bet they will replace them for free or I will never buy another Lexus from that dealership again... There is no way that brakes should go up within 9k miles...you paid for a bumper to bumper warranty...I do not think that brakes wearing out in 9k miles is wear and tear??? Talk to the manager if he is not willing to work with you on it let them know how unsatisfied you are in the vehicle and write a letter to follow that up...to the General Manager. Best of Luck to you! lenore Posted Jun 11 2006, 04:03 PM Welcome to world of LEXUS rip off. As for your brakes get them done at Toyota or INdependent, It would have been a lot cheaper. :chairshot: I think that this is a problem with the dealer not Lexus...he should not have to replace the brakes!
  10. This is why I keep my Jeep... that and when we need to take our dog somewhere or get mulch, or stuff that I would prefer not to put in my LEX... but what stinks is that I had to turn on my wipers and lights! POS JEEP :D Don't get me wrong I like my Jeep I have replaced everything on it just about twice! but after having my RX330 I almost have to force myself to drive it... hmm"CLEAN Lexus again" or "drive jeep" ??? Well I kept her clean today! What is wrong with you of course you should have called a cab...or walked!!! :D At least you RX300/330/350/400H owners have an easier time to clean your vehicles. Try cleaning a vehicle, like the GX. Most people that drive SUVs this big have never seen what the roof looks like (unless you are on a patio that overlooks on top of your garage and you can see the roof). I detail my cars MYSELF. I am never satisfied with detailing shops, and ESPECIALLY dealer car washes. They always leave water marks, especially on chrome parts of the car. I know how it feels when you just cleaned your cars, and it rains the following day. I had that situation this last winter (so much rain in my area, for just this last winter) and I was really *BLEEP*ed that I couldn't even enjoy the cleanliness of my cars for more than a day, unless I don't leave home (which isn't possible). It feels so great though to clean them, wax them, vacuum, and spend countless hours putting love and care into our vehicles. Here's a picture of my GX after a loooooong rainy winter season, newly cleaned, waxed, vacuumed, and rotated and balanced tires. Yea...I see what you are saying...although I still have to get a ladder out to wax and really get the top of mine clean too!!! My boss has a GX like yours...real nice we take it whenever we go to meetings...I smile whenever he is filling it up!!! Yours LOOKS GREAT! I think that you missed a spot on the passenger side door!!! :D UPDATE!!! got to drive Tuesday...came home wiped down and now it is raining today so driving the Jeep...rest of the week looks good!!!...according to the weatherman

  12. Man I got my RX330 cleaned on Saturday...got home and waxed it and I just spent hours cleaning and polishing and re-cleaning things that I had cleaned over and over. Well long story short it is raining so I left it at home in the garage driving my Jeep today. I just could not bring myself to back it out of the garage in the rain....well the weather forecast for the rest of the week is looking good ?!?!?! B) B) B)
  13. I get it but just kind of skim through all of it...

    New Camry

I have to say...I LIKE IT TOO!!!! :D
  18. I disagree. I'm a step or two away from being legally blind (I have presbyopia, bad myopia, and astigmatisms in both eyes.), but I can see just fine with tint--in fact, I prefer it. I had absolutely no problems at night with my former 10% and current 40% tint on the front windows. I'd really like to get the windshield done now to cut down on the bright lights from head on traffic, plus it'd look cool too! B) I know everyone's vision is different though! My. $.02. I think you should read this instead of making me feel like I'm stating things off the top of my head. :chairshot: http://www.ltsa.govt.nz/factsheets/25.html AMF- I agree with you on how the tinted windows can make it more difficult to see at night, but I also have to say that the tint can help cut down on the glare in the rear view mirrors. Although backing up with tinted windows becomes more difficult as you are not able to see out of the sides windows as well at night. My sister was involved in a pretty bad car accident and lost some partial vision out of one eye. Her doctor gave her a prescription to get the windows tinted darker than states legal tint because the tint cuts down on the glare. But I think that you are correct when you say that tint will make it more difficult to see out the window at night... NC I am sure that a claims adjuster is not going to deny a claim based on your window tint...hell I know quite a few people that have had accidents without their glasses on...got a ticket for it too... and the insurance company would not think about denying that claim...now there are some companies that will try to deny anything so nothing surprises me and I am not in total disagreement with you but...it is like saying if you are speeding and have a accident the insurance company can deny the claim because you broke the speed limit...it just does not happen...the main thing that a insurance company will deny a claim for is misrepresentation of material facts!!! Undisclosed drivers!!! <_<
  19. :D :D :D Too Funny! Well I had the simulated birds eye maple...in my camry...it looked OK but you could tell it was not real for sure...but I have to agree with you it will give you the "cheap" feeling when you see fake wood.
  20. To be honest this is exactly how I feel too! I really enjoy cleaning and then spend a hour polishing/waxing my car but it seems to get harder and harder to find the time to do it. I do however have a guy that I will call and he will come and detail the car while I am at work...that seems to be my answer now. But the trick is getting it in the garage with out my wife seeing how clean it is. Because if she knows that I have gotten mine cleaned well...her car is next if you know what I mean! :whistles: :whistles: :whistles: I also do like turtle wax spray...it is easy to put on and take off. I have also used Race Glaze and that is a good product that a lot of body shops use.
  21. The density of nitrogen compared to oxygen makes the difference. No gimmick. SK, What facts made you decide to change to nitrogen ? Hey welcome back DC!!! :D :D :D :D I don't know but this looks like it will save some money!!! http://www.getnitrogen.org/sub.php?view=cheaper Thanx LEXIRX330, Vacation was a blast, Cruised the lex to no end, Drank and dined like a king B) I'll be around for a longggg time. 23. I also heard that this can give you better...MPG!!! :D Have you noticed anything???
  24. I've been reading this forum for the past few days, as I'm about to buy myself another car and quite fancied a Lexus. One of the things that struck me is the number of complaints in here regarding things that go wrong/don't work as they should. Considering your statement about reliability, is this a fair reflection of the brand in general, or is it just that there are a lot of whingers on this forum? (OK, I am now hiding under the table ) I Love my Lexus...I have had no major problems with my RX, or the other Toyota cars that I have owned...I think that a lot of the complaints that I see here are people that will not be happy with anything....not all of the time is it a problem with the vehicle. Sometimes it is a problem with not knowing how something works...people think Lexus-will never need repairs...get real it is a car. I am sure there are some legitimate cases when someone was not treated right by Lexus...but overall I think that the cars are great and so far the service is great...Change the oil and get it serviced and it should last... :D You also have to remember that these cars have many more options/features than most do that can go up too!
