    Hd Tv's

;) ;) Well my reasoning for it is much different. I guess that everyone that goes into a sports bar is !Removed!...:whistles: They have TV's in there, just so you don't miss anything... Hell I have seen people that have TV's in every room of their home. I love to watch the news and sports and it seems that when I need to get ready is when I miss something...

    Hd Tv's

I have a Philips LCD...without Amblight...I have a mirror in the built in cabinet that is behind the TV so I made sure I did not get one with it. If it was not for the mirror I might like it but I think that the mirror would make it distracting. I think the Picture on the Philips LCD is great... This is so true. The default settings that some of the TV's make the picture horrible. I still find myself playing around with mine here and there. Mine also has auto picture on it. This will allow the TV to select the best size to fill the screen without distorting. Off topic a little... I have just got a 15" Sharp LCD TV that I am planning on mounting on the wall in my master bathroom. I have seen this on HGTV and a few other places...I have the OK from the wife!!! :D :D I figure I will put in a larger exhaust fan in to make sure that moisture will not be a problem...the TV is on the opposite wall as the shower above the whirl-pool tub...I can't wait to get the TV in there...anyone else here done this or thought of doing this? Any advice? Good Luck with the purchase NC!
  4. That is what they are there for... THIS is called insurance fraud! This is what many body shops do and it drives everyone's rates up. Do you think that since they are just bumping the estimate up only $500 dollars for you they might not bump it up another $500 for themselves...this is why most insurance companies will low ball their estimates so that the shop will have to prove in time/materials...justify the extra expense... Then the insured you...gets upset with your insurance company because they are dragging their feet to pay...the extra cost. And many times will deny the shop the extra expense... This is a huge problem for many insurance companies and it sounds fine when you think well what is $500 dollars to an insurance company? Better them pay it then me...well we will all pay it in the long run... ;) ;) ;)
  5. I just took a IS250 AWD for a spin today...my boss has one as a loaner for his GX. Well I have to admit I was real impressed with the car. The car has plenty of pep...it was not quite as quick as I expected...but overall I was real impressed with it. And compared to driving my RX330 it was like being in a jet! I love the keyless entry and start/stop option. If I was in the market for a sports car I think that I would look at the 350...but then again I love the feel of AWD...I think either of these cars would make you happy!!! :D :D
  6. Having your name on a loan and the car being registered in both names is 2 different things...true things differ state to state but...if you are a co owner of a car...that is different than just having your name on the finance papers as a co signer. If your name is not on the title or registration then you should be OK...but otherwise with the limits that she was carring I would be worried. I would call an attorney and find out for sure if you could be held liable for any thing if I were you... Best of luck to you and happy holidays! RX- Just wondering how his name not being on her insurance makes any differance at all? Insurance follows the car not the driver...and it is his car too!
  7. Sorry to say this but...if they have a lawyer...YES! Just a suggestion you may want to call your insurance company back and increase your property damage limits to 100k. That is what I suggest to most people...
  8. CLICK ELF! Happy Holidays Everyone!
  9. ;) Not for me...but if you like it that is all that matters! Thanks for sharing the pics!!!
  10. This is so TRUE!!! And as a matter of fact many agents still add the claim on to your policy to lock you in. If you have a claim and no money is paid out it would still show an at fault accident on you CLUE report. The same was true with homeowners insurance. It sucks but the problem is the way the law is filed in the state. The state can easily make inquiry's a non chargeable event. They have just done so in MD for home insurance see below: PROPERTY AND CASUALTY HOUSE BILL 285 (Chapter 454) - Homeowner’s Insurance - Underwriting, Premium Increases, Cancellation, and Refusal to Renew • Prohibits an insurer selling a homeowner’s insurance policy from refusing to underwrite a risk, increase a premium, or cancel or refuse to renew coverage based on an inquiry by an insured or an insurance producer on behalf of an insured, that does not result in the payment of a claim. • Defines inquiry to mean “a telephone call or other communication to an insurer regarding the terms and conditions of a homeowner’s insurance policy, including a telephone call or other communication about whether the policy provides coverage for a particular loss or the process for filing a claim.” Effective date: October 1, 2006 LEXKID if you said off the record and she agreed and she was your agent or someone working for your agent...then she more than likley would not put it on you...but if she did I would move every bit of business away from her/him higher premium or not!
  11. I was saying that I do not like the buttons in the Camry...and I said that they look like the buttons in the highlander not the ES.
  12. I hate the controls for the Heat/AC...etc. That is how they were laid out on the Highlander and that is why I decided not to get the Highlander I think the buttons look like a space shuttle...not very refined IMHO!
  13. Buick? Did I miss something I thought this was about Camry and the ES... :D J/k I have been following this! LMAO :D I will just say when it comes to front wheel or rear wheel drive cars...I like AWD. I have had FWD, RWD, and my SUV is AWD... I would prefer the RWD to a FWD for many of the reasons that SW has mentioned but I can say that I will never forget my 1990 Ford Mustang GT 5.0...I was a SR in high school and we had a bad winter...I put 300 lbs of weight in the back of the car and every time I touched the gas pedal rear wheels would spin! But as long as you did not bottom the car out you could keep it out of the ditches by steering...I would not have been able to do that with a FWD (steer it) as said the front tires pull the car. Once you loose the traction with the front it will not pull anything (or steer) ??? One thing to remember is this FWD, RWD, AWD...when it is raining, snowing or there is ICE...SLOW the H E L L down...people kill me when they think that the can drive 80 with snow on the roads because they have a SUV, or because it is AWD...when you hydroplane or loose traction most people will overreact and end up causing others to get injured because of it!
  14. Contact the previous owner to ask what was done, Please post some pic's that would help us with your problem. Welcome to the club I have seen a few cars that have had the same thing done. They all have a emergency button...usually located under the car or wheel well ( hidden)!!! Anyway you would not know it was there unless you knew where to look. That button will unlock the doors. The only reason that it is there is incase the remotes did not work. I had a high dollar alarm system on a Jeep Wrangler that had one of these buttons to deactivate the alarm so that you could start the car incase your transmitter went dead. It was the only way you could start the car with out the transmitter...kind of cool but it kind of sucks too! Good luck looking because I do not think unless I was shown where mine was I could have found it...even if someone told me the general area to look!
  15. http://www.lexus-parts.com/partlist.asp?Su...amp;ModelID=105 There it is and it tells you how to install...hope this helps!
  16. You may want to look on ebay!
  17. I read your post...and I have a question? You said that the EDR records info for a 20 second window before the srs system is activated. I have seen reports that show much longer times as I said up to 300 minutes. Just wondering are you saying that at least 20 seconds, or only 20 seconds?
  18. I am in MD...if I had a IS350 my insurance would be 64.15/month...actually just a little cheaper than my 330. This is a tough question because there are so many variables...do you own your own home, how old are you, married or not, where do you live, accidents or violations, occupation...and quite a few other things can cause you rate to be higher/lower too! The best advice that I could give you would be to find an independent insurance agent. One that represents many different companies and have them to shop you with several companies to get you the best rate. Call your current agent and ask if you are getting all of the discounts that you can get. Many times there are discounts that can be added on to your policy. Hope this helps!!!
  19. I am sure that they checked the air pressure in your tires? You still may want to re check. I have got my car back with each tire off by 4 or 5 psi...???
  20. I have heard different reports on this...some say that it can record the last few minutes before the airbags are deployed...and others say that it can hold over 300 minutes of your driving. So that say a car company could look at driving habits. This is what is in my wife's MB: From my 2006 W203 manual page 19: Vehicle data recording Information regarding electronic recording devices (Including notice pursuant to California Code § 9951) Please note that your vehicle is equipped with devices that can record vehicle systems data and, if equipped with the Tele Aid system, may transmit some data in certain accidents. This information helps, for example, to diagnose vehicle systems after a collision and to continuously improve vehicle safety. DaimlerChrysler may access the information and share it with others for safety research or vehicle diagnosis purposes with the consent of the vehicle owner or lessee in response to an official request by law enforcement or other government agency for use in dispute resolution involving DaimlerChrysler, its affiliates or sales/service organization and/or as otherwise required or permitted by law. Please check the Tele Aid subscription service agreement for details regarding the information that may be recorded or transmitted via that system. That is the one good use for them! But I still think that they can cause significant problems since they are not proven to be 100% accurate.
  21. Because this is America and these things are a violation of our civil rights. Its hyper-control sentiments like this that lead to a gradual stripping away of these freedoms. ;) What? Sorry...I was being sarcastic... That is what I meant by It is those of us that do obey the law are always sacrificing our rights and freedoms for people who do not and will not obey the law...regardless of who is watching! So what do you think about the black box in your car?
  22. I was reading about this on another forum...wanted to see what you guy/gals thought about this... Leading Criminal Case In the case of Montreal (Canada) v. Eric Gauthier which was tried October 2003 or thereabout, in which Mr. Gauthier was driving his Pontiac Sunfire, when his vehicle collided with another and the driver of the other car, died at the scene. Mr. Gauthier was accused of traveling between 130 to 160 km/h in a 50-km/h zone. The police department used the black box exclusively, which was a first in Montreal. The Judge allowed the black box into evidence to determine Mr. Gauthier vehicle's speed, with no other collaborating evidence. Mr. Gauthier was convicted of dangerous driving, but was cleared of the more serious charge of criminal negligence. Full story: http://www.alllaw.com/articles/legal/article19.asp This is how I feel about it... The accident was his fault and he should be charged with...whatever the judge or jury wants to give him. The sad thing is if he took a gun and shot someone he would probably only get half of the time. Why not get stripped searched before entering and leaving all public places? Why shouldn't everyone have to take a breathalyzer before starting your car? Why not make it mandatory for all employers to drug test? Why not limit the speeds cars will drive...I am sure that they could make a device that could control the speeds of our cars so in a 55 you could only drive 55... and so on. It is those of us that do obey the law are always sacrificing our rights and freedoms for people who do not and will not obey the law...regardless of who is watching! Why couldn't insurance companies get this info...they would love to get their hands on it so they can charge you more money if you speed...run a stop sign...etc... Auto makers...to deny warranties...Tire companies to void warranties...this could go on forever. And don't say that they could never get the info...it will be just a matter of time and then you are going to see "well if they can use this information in court...we should be able to use it too" Who is going to end up paying for this..."the consumer" Who would have thought 15 - 20 years ago that cameras could give you a ticket? There could be some good to come out of the EDR but I do not like it... I do not want someone watching every move I make...why not just plant micro chips in us that records everything we do in life ???
