Is this your opinion or have you done research to back this up??????????
-
Well if you owned an Envoy the dealership would be closer ;) And I'm not telling you to buy a Envoy, Yukon, or Escalade. I'm just telling you that for 3 years or 50k miles they probably would be just as reliable as a Lexus. I'm sure your sister would have bought a Lexus if thats what she wanted. She wanted an Envoy. And no, all Cadillac dealers don't do pickup and delivery, but all Lexus dealers don't either. You can dislike how they look, but if you say they are a poorly made an unreliable car you are incorrect. Saying that you don't like the styling is an opinion, saying that they are unreliable and poorly built is a misleading fallacy that comes from your lack of knowledge about those specific brands. I do not own a Kia or Hyundai, but I have seen them in person, driven them, and read the industry articles that talk about their quality relative to Japanese brands. Why do you have to own the car to have an informed opinion about its relative worth? Reliability figures are public knowledge and I've driven the new Hyundais and Kias as well as the Japanese competition. Have you owned an Envoy? Then how can you make statements about them? And as for your little list there, I like how you omitted the pros for the Kia vehicles and included them for the Toyotas. I also like how you didn't include the new Hyundais that are currently recieving critical acclaim like the Sonata and the Azera too. You should be a politician. Compare all the new Hyundais to the Toyotas you mentioned, between Kia and Hyundai, Hyundai is the superior car. Sorry, but the spread of incorrect information irritates me, almost as much as closed-mindedness. Wow, you have seen them and driven them! As I have seen and driven the cars and suv's that I am talking about. I am not the one that said that I had to own the car! You are the one who said "Do you have an Envoy? If not then how can you make a statement like this?" Why do I have to own a Envoy? And once again you said that I can not make a statement about them if you do not own the car but you can! Look you have your opinion as I have my own. I did not omit anything all I did is pick a group of cars that are in the same price range. Why would I show the pros that is not the point I am trying to make it is yours...Also I guess that you did not notice that the KIA and the Hundais that I have listed are priced higher than the Toyota and the Hondas so it was not like I was trying to pick the best cars out there that toyota or honda made either???? If you look at the Pro's go ahead and make your point! I do not understand why I am spreading incorrect information...just seeing how you have to have the last word on every post irritates me...as you have said it is public knowledge...this is how I feel about these cars as I have said over and over...PLEASE SEE THAT I HAVE SAID OVER AND OVER I FEEL AND IT IS MY OPINION...If you think that I am closed minded, I am sure there are plenty of people that feel the same about you here...too! When are you running for re-election???? Do you want to see STEVE IS RIGHT! If that is what it takes to get you to get off my case...sure Steve you are right! :whistles:

No Steve it takes at least 1 1/2 to 2 hours to drive to the dealership. THAT IS OUT OF MY WAY. You have a habit of telling everyone how it is with out knowing the situation. And now you can tell someone how to form an opinion. I have drove and owned plenty of American made cars. Had a Yukon for 2 weeks as a loaner...Do all Cadillac dealerships do that. My mother in law has a 06 and they sure do not. If I wanted a ENVOY a YUKON or a ESCALADE...that is what I would have bought. I have done enough research on these and other cars and SUV's to form my own opinion. I do not need you to tell me that my opinion is wrong. KIA's and Hyundia's well ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS LOOK AT THEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! my opinion ...which according to Steve has to be researched. And before you make a statement about any car you must own it...Steve...do you own a kia or a hyundai...than how can you make a statement like that! I am not telling anyone to buy them or not... IT IS MY OPINION ;) :whistles: I agree with alot of things that you say on this form...but not that my opinion is wrong

Talk About Bad Luck...
LEXIRX330 replied to ProjectIS250's topic in 07 - 13 Lexus IS250 / IS350 / IS-F
Call a good glass company they will be able to repair it. Same thing happend to me on my way home after picking mine up from the dealership...talk about bad luck. It is not that big of deal, let them fix it if you are still un happy then get it replaced. -
I guess that if the car only was in need of repair when it was time to be serviced or if whatever the recall was than it could be put off until you next scheduled service that would be fine...I don't think that is the case. My Lexus takes 0 minutes out of my day for service or for that matter warranty work. I pick up the phone and call. They bring me a new one and take mine back for service and when it is done they bring it back to work or my home. I have yet to see any GM FORD OR CHRYSLER do that. Driving to the dealership takes time. You are in the sales business...how much is 3 to 4 hours worth. It would take at least that long to drive to the dealership and get the service done for me... I don't know what to even say about this...I think that these types of cars must have the warranty to sell...and the fact that they are over $5,000 less than a toyota or a honda says something to me. You get what you pay for. It might just be me but I can not put a KIA in the same class as a Toyota or Honda... I know pleanty of people that have kias or hyundai's and given the choice I think most of them would take a Toyota or a Honda over their car any day... I don't like them, I don't like the way they look, I do feel that they are made CHEAP, and I don't think I would ever buy one unless money was the only factor. This is just my opinion. Everybody has one!
-
You don't take your car to the dealer 3-4 times a year? You don't have the maintenance done? As for Kias, modern Kias are plenty reliable. Yes, I do have my car taken to the dealer for service...but that is for service...not because it is in need of repair! I am not following how you think that is the same. As for Kias! OK :whistles: I am not going to buy one. But whatever...

Safeco is a good insurance company, they have been in business since 1923. They usually pay claims fast. They are one of the 8 insurance companies that the agency that I work for represents. You should not have any problem! Glad you and your fiancee are OK!!!! :D A technique I have used successfully several times when I have seen someone coming up from behind fast while I am stopped in traffic is to tap and release the brake pedal as rapidly as possible to get the following driver's attention. Yea by the way tap the brakes and keep looking out of your rear view mirror...What ever works for you! :whistles:

Turning Off Rear Mirror Reverse Positioning
LEXIRX330 replied to soorg's topic in 07 - 13 Lexus IS250 / IS350 / IS-F
Think it is All or nothing sorry!!! -
I think $9,000 for a RX with a blown engine is a pretty good trade. How are you going to turn them in for fraud if you can not prove it Lenore! :whistles: Sorry about your luck with the 1st one punjani hope that this one works out better for you!
-
I also hear the ticking but it does not concern me. I have heard that many of these engines do this...and it does not seem to be a problem... I guess it just does not bother me! I love my RX330, I think that the quality of this vehicle is far superior to most, not sure what is wrong with yours...
-
Is that really all they do? I can go to Jiffy Lube for $19 But you don't get drinks and cookies for free at J-Lube :D I do know that the dealer that I go to charges $30 for a tire rotation :chairshot: The 1st oil change is free, just set up service for the 28th...not sure what type of loaner that they are bringing...should have asked!

Another Unreal Dealer Experience
LEXIRX330 replied to whitt's topic in 07 - 13 Lexus IS250 / IS350 / IS-F
I agree! What's 3 months...buy it from someone who wants your business! But I would still call or send a letter to Lexus about the bad experience. If you must buy it now...fill the survey out like everyone else has said...they do not want to get bad ratings... My salesman was great...I would have given him and the dealership a great rating anyway, but he even sent 2 cards after I bought mine to let me know that anything less than a perfect score on his survey was totally unacceptable. He deserved the perfect score and he worked for it!!! Point is there are to many people that want to earn your business...I would give it to someone who wants it! Best of Luck! B) -
I would go with the silver over black any day! Dark colors look great clean but are a lot of work to keep up... I have always had blue cars...my RX is white...I was not crazy about it when the salesman told me about it but when I saw it changed my mind...also it is much easier to keep clean than blue...at least it looks good... until I get around to spending half a day cleaning it! :D Milage doesn't bother me as much since I bought the CPO. If something is going to go wrong it will more than likely happen within the warranty period I hope! Hey Steve thought you said that you would not buy a used car or preowned??? Well on these types of cars as I have said if you can get it for 10,000 to 20,000 cheaper buying a preowned why not? Unless you just want to spend the more money or want to have it off the lot....NEW Best of luck to whatever you decide to do!!! B)
-
2FAST4U I always liked that one!!! I would not put it on a RX!
-
If you do a search you can find alot of info! Here is one link to some info there are pleanty of more!!! http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...topic=26855&hl=

RX, you mean I CAN use Toyota air in my tires!!!!!!!!!!!! GREAT! The Lexus dealership said it voids the powertrain and engine warranty to use anything but LEXUS air in the tires! However, for only $150 I get the OEM LEXUS air in all four tires (spare is extra) AND a free loner car for the day!!!! :whistles: :whistles: Lexus air makes the car ride a little better too, gets you better MPG!!! Right??? FUNNY STUFF...guys!!! RX- Thanks for that clarification...
-
RX - Just wondering if 2005 was pretty much trouble free...were those reports on the 04 RX330 or are you saying that the 04's had alot of those problems too, and this report was on the 05's??? I am just wondering and I have read quite a few of your post and it seems like you know what you are talking about.
-
Congrats...on the purchase and welcome to the club!!! :D Not sure but I would think if you called the salesman that you dealt with he would cut you a pretty good deal on another purchase! I also purchased my RX330 preowned through the CPO program, and I could not imagine the service so far to be any better...maybe someone else can add to this... I have owned quite a few Toyotas before my purchase of a Lexus and since they are pretty much the same...I would have to say YES! By the way did you get AWD or FWD??? B)
-
But...that is the exact reason why I would not purchase it warranty or not. The fact that a car has a warranty is nice, but just the hassle having to take the car back and forth for repairs is a pain in the I don't have time to take a car to a dealership 3 or 4 times a year!!! A Kia has what 10 year 100,000 mile warranty how many times do you think you are going back to the dealer with that???? Warranties are better when you do not have to use them at all. Well we shall see!!! :D :D :D

Has Anyone Used An "air Tornado" For Better Mpg
LEXIRX330 replied to LRP_LS400's topic in 90 - 00 Lexus LS400
OK :whistles: :whistles: :whistles: :whistles: :whistles: I had a Jeep with a 4banger in it too, with 31 x 10.50s on it...the thing would not get out of its own way. Have a I6 in my Cherokee that I have now, if you are getting 4-5 miles more per gallon with that tornado in your wrangler - you can put it on my Cherokee and...then I will have a Cherokee hybrid I suppose????? I would have a open mind about something that could work but I can not see how that is anything more than a joke! Most everyone on this forum tries to help each other out...tactfully!!!! -
i hate GM cars because if you buy a 20k car and 50k cadillac, the interior will be the same. i like the looks of the cadillac but you sit inside and then you look up at the owner and say "i thought you said this was a cadillac, not a saturn" That is what I am talking about! Mother in law has a caddy! I liked my Camry better than the inside of it...

My sister went out and bought a 2006 Envoy Denali 4WD :chairshot: , man I told her she should have looked at the new RX 350 or even the 400H. She traded in her c230 kompressor MB in, I do have to say that was a pretty cool car for a MB. Just had a baby and that car she said was just to small. She drove the Envoy up so I could take a look at it and keep in mind the Denali is GMC's top of the line. All I can say is I love my Lexus :D . Day and night when you compare the quality and feel of the two. I think the Denali looks OK, but some of the stuff just looks cheap (to me). The tail pipe, the plastic, leather, dash...I will stop now! I am trying not to bash GM, I test drove a Yukon...but I was left with the same impression that it lacked a quality feel. When spending that kind of money on vehicle I do not want to feel that way. I am sure there are people that have GM's that love them this is just my opinion but I think after the NEW wears off she will be disappointed...what do you guys think??? I will try to keep it in...but sooner or latter I will have to be a big brother and say I told you so!!! :D B) TO each his own or in this case her own...just glad I have my Lexus...

B) That's how it is! It seems like people with bad credit want to take it out on you...they are mad because they missed payments or had late payments the mtg company won't lend them money. I have to talk to alot of the mtg companies that want to insure a $200,000 home for $350,000...these are mtg companies that are loaning people that have no credit or bad credit (in most cases) more money than the home is worth. They are taking out a loan and rolling all of the cost in...and most of the time these are the same people that you have problems with...get tax money back put it down on a car that will be gone in 3 months...can I pay weekly...well I get paid every 2 weeks, that's why I don't have it, what about my grace period!!! My boss has a saying... 5% of your customers will give you 95% of your problems...if you try to replace that 5%...you will generate another 5%. I guess the point is everyone that is doing business with you is a customer and should be treated like such! It was a $525,000 house. That was a nice commission check! And since it only took 4 hours still gave you time to sell another house that day!
